1) Lucky Bag items given to players daily when logging in for 30minutes.
Bag contains Phoru stamp set, [cobo] ice burners…etc

2) Bring rice cakes and meat broth that drop from dungeons and exchange them from Ariel for
refreshing meat broth(HP,MP 100% recovery item)

– Event weapon ‘을미년 행운이 깃든 무기’ given on first login.

Event fluorite and restoration scrolls can also be bought from cash shop.
– If the event weapon is enhanced more than +5, Magic amulet of equivalent level of the weapon will be given on 2/26 maintenance.
– Items do not get broken when enhancing during 02 18 AM 06:00 ~ 02 23 AM 06:00

4) New year IB configuration!

Damage adjusted to fit with MP used both in PvP and PvE
6. Fixed issue where abonormal afterimage would remain as Ciel when using ‘sprinter potion’.
7. Fixed issue where combination gauge would not reset when leaving practice room.
8. Luciel, Chiliarch, Royal Guard skill balancing.
Major changes include MP costs for skills being changed to be in level with other characters, while MP recovery for character in standby is lowered.
Overall, MP cost decreased to meet damage output/MP. Making dmg/mp ratio align with other characters.
We expect more character switches to obtain combination gauge faster, which would revamp their gameplay.

    Did they just nerf LuCiel’s MP gain? Even the passives Chiliarch had?

    You should see already KoG that NOBODY plays Luciel, and now you’re just nerfing LuCiel, just so you can reduce the playerbase probably?

    I can’t believe this shit, LuCiel relies on their MP, because their skill damage is shit, and they can’t catch. Dead Hands MP Usage increased? What the fuck KoG, we don’t need that, we only needed it for the Encroaching fear debuff, but nope obviously you had to go and do that. BASICALLY, THEY NERFED LUCIELS MANA-GAIN, AND THEN JUST THREW IN MORE MP NEEDED TO USE SKILLS. What the fuck KoG? Am i supposed to fucking run now in PvP because i can’t get enough mana? It’s already enough i can’t catch anyone with these fucking tiny ass hitboxes on these skills, and shit damage. Oblivion isn’t the best either considering it doesn’t always kill the enemy, and the hitbox is too fucking tiny.

    I’m really pissed, i was hoping for a buff, but the MP gain nerf really pisses me off, 15MP > 6MP in PvE? Are you kidding me? Everyone would just clear the damn map while you wait for your MP to charge, LuCiels damage is fucking terrible and you throw in a little damage increase and top it off with more mana used. Look at aisha meditation, she fucking gains 14/15MP per second, stacked with her 5MP gain from standing skill, and KoG doesn’t do shit. She can abuse her skills and KoG sits and drinks their fucking coffee, look she also has defense due to mana shield, LUCIEL HAS NOTHING. Add can gain mana from abusing hamel SD armor, due to spam awakening and KoG DOES NOTHING.

    But Luciel has fucking nothing, i literally did 60 PVP matches and only saw 1 or 2 Luciels, all i saw was: EM,IS,RS,CrA,DiE,LP,GM,WS

    Seriously KoG? You should go and fucking see how weak some classes can be, these damage increases are fucking stupid considering Chiliarch can’t hit shit with those microscopic hit-boxes.

    Also nice job removing the “recovery potion effect” on that passive, it was helpful for me so much as a LuCiel in PvE/PvP and KoG decides to make anything that was good to the trashcan.

    This is the reason nobody plays LuCiel and thats not even funny considering LuCiel isn’t as hyped as add since the damage differences are too high, Add can do damage while LuCiel was Resource efficient, which made me understand and i liked to play a little bit hardcore. But now your throwing in a tiny damage and are stepping all over the pride luciel was good for, now i gain lesser than half the mana i do before in PvE? And PvP?

    Kill yourself KoG, seriously LuCiel is not going to make you any money this way.

    Done my god damn rant.

      I’ll be honest, I found their mana gain passive abit unreasonable. The nerf was necessary and buffing a crapton of skills is a nice exchange.

        I’d agree with you there, but i mentioned that chiliarch has shitty hit-boxes, look at oblivion for example, the hitbox is so tiny that if you are a little bit to the side (and the skill still touched you) you won’t take any damage because the hitbox is too small, i’ve tested it.

        I’m glad RG got a buff, he really fucking needed it.

        I’m guessing they nerfed mana gain maybe also because of hyper actives?

      Passive MP regeneration is not required to be a good PvE character; or is VC a bad PvE character? EM’s Meditation has a long cooldown, and is more like an MP potion on a skill slot instead of an item slot; it’s not as big of a deal as you say it is (especially in PvE, where potions can be used). Her passive MP regain was also nerfed last week; it should only be 3.45 MP per second at max now (and that much requires giving up the 10% cooldown reduction passive, apparently).

      Also, you’re judging a character at first job change. That means class modifiers, which may be able to boost equipment attack/defense by 10-20%, are not applied yet. It also means that the character is missing around one-third of their skills, which could include game-changing skills/passives (just look at old MM with Install switching, VC with Ignition Crow, Asura’s old Fox Fire/Suppression, etc.).

      Maybe they actually have learned enough to realize that every new character being pretty much top tier is ruining the game. A character should not have to be amazing in order for someone to like using them. More characters need to have actual flaws.

        Yeah, they sure learned that lesson after Elesis by giving Add and Lu/Ciel crippling weaknesses!…..

        Except, they’ve never nerfed Elesis in any meaningful way….. and I doubt they ever will.

        Also, it’s more than just PVP being irredeemably broken that’s ruining the game. There’s also their absolute shit newer stage design and how they think the solution to make the game harder is by nerfing the players, then they release an absolute joke of a final boss like Scar, players curbstomp him, then they wonder why PVE is still too god damn easy…..

          As far as I know, they attempted to give Add and Lu/Ciel compensating weaknesses (Add’s HP/Defense, Lu/Ciel’s ‘decreased’ max MP due to skill costs and apparently weak skills), they just did a really horrible job at it (LP’s equipment HP is with the best in the game, Add’s pre-nerf normals {unsure how they are post-nerf}, and Add’s general auto-pilot design; Lu/Ciel’s standby boosted MP gain being based on time as opposed to hitting things, etc.).
          Though I am moreso talking about the past few months; the amount of justified fixes/balances they’ve done in the past 4 months is probably comparable to the amount they’ve done in any previous 12 month timespan. Even if there’s been more stupid stuff to fix, there was plenty of blatantly stupid stuff that took a long time to fix before (like EM revamp Meditation in PvP).

          As for Elesis, she’s had the Season 3 nerfs: nerfing her X drop hitbox and making it only -10 KD (only Chung (-10), Aisha (0), and Ara (0) don’t have higher reduction on ^X, and those can be used more) and nerfs to her damage boosters (Stoic – Strong, Provoke, Power Break). She also got a nerf to Stoic – Strong (120 MP, much less air stoic catches) and Rushing Sword (I think it lost around 20% of its damage), and CrA has gotten some needed nerfs, though I don’t know how much more she needs.

          And while PvE has many issues, fixing some of them would be difficult as long as the gigantic gap between normal gear and +10/+11 gear exists, and fixing some others would involve programming a competent AI.
          Fixing many of PvP’s issues doesn’t really involve much potentially difficult programming or necessarily doing something that could cause severe money-related backlash.
          Don’t forget, there are players that pretty much exclusively play PvP, just like there are players that exclusively play PvE.

            -Her X drop may have lost its “infinite” status. But it doesn’t matter because ^X hits really hard anyway (Especially with GM’s ****ing stupid Initiate passive.) and anyone who hasn’t learned to mana break as soon as possible from an Elesis combo is going to lose no matter what. The hitbox nerf just plain doesn’t matter since the Elesis players simply learned to adapt.

            -The nerfs to GM’s damage boosts are miniscule at best. She still has the highest damage output thanks to all those things combined. Hell, the only time in NA I’ve actually been killed in two combos (On a DW. Mana Shield, +7-8 armor, etc.) was from a GM with a +9 weapon. Using Heavy Stunner over Armor Break even. So obviously, a GM with a +10 weapon or a +11 weapon is going kill a lot of players in a single combo. Throw RoF for a free catch and an extra +20% damage…..

            And BH and CA aren’t that far behind in damage either.

            -The Stoic – Strong nerf merely made it cost just as much as a normal mana break and stopped her from completely shutting down launch combo reliant characters like Chung and Ara. (Although they gutted Ara’s ^X at the same time anyway.) Stoic – Strong is still very much broken and better than normal mana breaking for other reasons. (Especially when used by CA.)

            -CA wasn’t nerfed nearly enough. She still has a 30% chance to absorb 20% damage. As in, this is a seperate damage reduction that works even on things that can’t be normally negated like Energy Spurt. Extra damage mitigation on top of her HP recovery bullshit. And then there’s the whole dealing significant damage to the opponent when mana breaking that can only be countered by….. using Stoic – Strong to block her Stoic – Strong. (Or being an Aisha with Nasod Goggles and having godly enough reflexes to teleport away as soon as you see her MP bar suddenly go down.)

        no, but a majority of characters are tiresome or bad in parties without anything improving MP gain, for people who don’t have the dosh to buy mana necklaces for every character they make.

        also, your commentary about “every new character being top tier” lacks the part where you consider that the newer ones are usually top tier because they aren’t quite as crippled as the older ones, and that the older characters could use some general improvements overall to balance the scales. instead you prattle on in typical post-WoW “every player must suck” manner, as most clueless derps these days tend to.
        and yes, we are all aware that the most MP-centric character in the game got fucked over again last week along with most everyone else, you hardly have to rub salt in that wound.

      Yes. And it still isn’t enough. Whenever you have a secondary resource that you can gain by literally standing there, there is a problem. It becomes a major problem when your opponent can’t even pressure you to delete said resource(which you can at least do with Chung via Ammo and Non-DE Add via DP).

      KoG is trying to reduce the player base of the newly released character that can potentially give them x2 the money they would from a normal one?
      I don’t think that’s a good idea.

      Lu/Ciel relies on switching to fill the combination gauge to then use a 300 MP burst. Special Actives only get the job done faster.

      It was decreased from 125 to 100. It’s damage was adjusted to the MP it uses.

      No.
      They nerfed Lu/Ciel’s In-Active Mana Regen and then lowered the costs of all but Oblique of Marbas(rip) and Combination Skills.
      It allows you to chain more Special Actives to fill up the Combination Gauge quicker and then use the 0 MP.
      It also encourages you to find skill chains and use both characters, the original concept of a duo character.

      No, though it is an option. You do like you do with any other character. Actually hit your opponent to gain sufficient MP.

      Is it supposed to always kill the enemy? Are they supposed to have an instant-win button? Oblivion is a skill you used to guarantee a finish. That’s it. For the small hitbox part, I believe that is what they fixed with Ciel. Also, NOTHING that takes up at least a quarter of the screen is a “small hitbox”.

      Have you not heard of Mana Potions? Those things the rest of the cast use?

      A. You have no clue how much the damage was increased by. Do not spout negative speculation when you don’t even have the percentages.
      B. Every single skill that had an MP cost to begin with with the exception of Oblique of Marbas and Demonic Breath had their MP cost lowered.

      EM is also one of the most mana hungry characters in this game. Treating 200-300 MP Specials as if they were actives. It’s fairly justified. As well as this, they DID do something. Mainly, lowering her damage.

      If you’d like, I could also provide a list of what they DO have. Just to name a few things:
      -An absurd amount of 0 KD normals
      -The ability to have a seperate MP bar in reserve
      -The ability to store a 300 MP that you can’t do anything about

      But, you know, you can keep being ignorant to the tools that you have, the way this game actually works. As long as you do, you’ll have a pretty excruciating time playing this game.

        Sure, Mana costs on skills have decreased, but I’m the type of player that enjoys spamming skills.
        Luciel shined because of that high mana gain and the choices you make in which skill goes first is important. I suppose its still okay with the update, but i’m definitely a fan of seeing 300 mp.

        You obviously don’t play LuCiel, i hope you don’t think the entire animation is the hitbox, you still can touch the animation and you won’t take any damage, you have to be literally RIGHT INFRONT of LuCiel point-blank range in order for the skill to hit, and this is about Oblivion, also this isn’t a “problem with Ciel” i always used oblivion with Lu For your information, it’s the skill itself having a tiny hit-box.

        Not everyone uses guilds, welcome to Korean Elsword where nobody accepts people into their guild if they are foriegners, and nobody joins the guilds you make.

        I have to agree with you there. considering Els is rank 18 in top games played in Korea.

        I hope you realize LuCiel is the least played character as of now, nobody likes how LuCiel works according to a few threads i read on the Korean Els forum. I never forgot how many adds i saw when first job came out.

        Also i corrected myself about reading the MP changes the wrong way. I find it funny how you point out every single thing i said and just made “smart statements” about it without even looking about what i fixed about my half-assed rant.

        I think i know what i’m saying damn well, i own a level 80 LuCiel in KR and i have all rights to be pissed, go back to your crappy elsword NA or “Void Elsword” private server.

        Conquerer says hi too, considering it does too much damage, same goes with quake burst. Prey chase and those fucking base-job skill are weak in damage compared to adds base-job skills such as particle accelerator or particle prism.

        I'm salty enough already seeing how shit defense-wise LuCiel and having a mana-nerf and here you are trying to make me more salty? Not going to work bro, shit like that won't work on me nice try though. :^)

          Stomp’s delay reduction probably just makes it harder to catch with the delay after missing the attack.

          What need do you have for an MP Potion boost (not HP) when that boost was only there to compensate for increased skill costs, which have been normalized?

          Have you seen EM’s new XZZ (her way of gaining MP)? It’s around 100% Magical damage per hit on the lightning bolts instead of 300% per hit. Considering how much the old one could be looped before knockdown, the change to it is most certainly lowering her damage.

          There are plenty of high damage skills on second jobs: Ignition Crow, Deadly Raid (if you want to consider it), Fox Fire, Flying Kite, Rakshasa Stance 2: Energy Burst (and Purgatory as a whole), Comet Crasher, Dread Chase/Artillery Strike: Missile Shower, Land Demolisher: Earthquake, Iron Scraps, Giga Drive: Seismic Tremor, etc.
          And the class modifiers for second job could help quite a bit as well. If they’re amazing, you might even get around a 20%+ boost in your primary stat.

          From what it looks like, you want a character without any significant flaws. That attitude does not help the game at all, as creating characters without significant flaws will likely result in a power creep (compare the characters before Chung to the characters after him), and that could ruin the game for a significant portion of the playerbase.
          Like I said, a character should not have to be amazing in order for someone to like using them.

          There are some people in this would that are still ignorant when reaching level cap. I am not pointing fingers but saying that one is at level cap and allowed to rant about it is…. kind of wrong.

          Also mfw using server superiority to 1-up someone. From what I remember, Baconater only plays NA and it seems like, KR is getting some NA problems soon. Specifically that trade restriction at Lv 10.

            I don’t like to join guild off babel, i might sound like some weird douche, but i prefer having no guild, this also is a problem for me if i have a guild since most foreigners are in america and have a completely different time-zone from mine. (I will not state where i live sadly since there is no need to. Dx )

            and @Meseki Thats exactly what i was pointing out about stomp, since it won’t be able to catch. Bacon stated that it’s helpful for catching. (As of now maybe, but afterwards most likely not)

            I’m not here to fight with anyone, or bacon either. I’m just here to check the patch notes and just see how my main character gets nerfed, most people would be pissed and i’d be one of those people. You should see how many players BEG KoG to nerf some classes and they yet have made no adjustments. (I also sincerely apologize for telling bacon to go back to NA or Void, still i personally think NA is shit without exception.)

            I apologize if i pissed off anyone else with my half-assed rant, as i did not mean to in any way. I’m not giving up on my character obviously, but it doesn’t make me feel any happier knowing i was nerfed, the only thing i can hope for is a good second job and/or a good damage increase in those skills to compensate for the MP gain loss, since i personally prefer to spam skills since i find it fun, ranting won’t really help me in any way but only make me seem like some autistic child, and i know this is only for a game, but hey i have emotions too like the rest of you, so obviously i need to blow off steam. :v

        You should know when to use Lu and Ciel. That’s what gives you challenge and encourages you to use their dual feature. If they weren’t weak, you’d only be sticking to one character instead of thinking about when to use Lu and when to switch to Ciel and whatnot

    kog` certainly stepped back on that quickly. I wonder if they actually have any intention at all of trying to actually encourage switching. ultimately it’ll probably break down into just being an annoying gimmick to limit use of the 300mp-tier moves.
