hm. belder: lots of fire after a couple stage -> party fails to deal with the demon problem
lanox: firey land -> party fails to stop the demongod summon

is a pattern going to form, where fire means failure?

    • Unduex says:

You bring up a good point; at the end of Velder the el search party decided it was time to advance to second jobs due to their failure.

This could possibly mean because they failed here; KOG may start thinking about third advancements. I think it’s safe to start thinking about it.

  • Endgame says:

    So….. the ritual was successful?

Huh. We had people translating the story quests and everything before these patch notes pointed to Scar being a wretched failure.

    …..

Who cares? The Demon Lord is just going to be another high HP punching bag. Even if they do give him attacks that can kill you, they’ll be so widely telegraphed that you can easily get away in time. Or it’ll be like Transformed Karis’ Death Slide and even if you get launched you can just mana break out of it anyway without taking too much damage. Or it’ll be like lolScar’s Generate Black Hole and it’ll give you the MP to break out of it before the climax!

  • Endgame says:

    It’s up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUB0fVg0_Po

Oh my ****ing god. I knew it. I just ****ing knew they’d go down the route of Mary Suesis being the El Lady reincarnated…..

lol at Lu and Ciel being there for the video, but being worthless.

  • vette says:

omg really i love elesis but she getting too much spotlight you guys might as well just change the game from

omg really i love elesis but she getting too much spotlight you guys might as well just change the game from Elsword to Grand Chase 2

  • Rheaco says:

Lol Engame was right Elesis being KoG’s favorite they made her
    El-Jesus
    I still don’t even…

  • Baconater says:

    @The Elesis-El Lady thing

Well, the ONLY two people she could have possessed that would have made any sense would be Elsword or Elesis. Elsword being able to resonate with the El and Elesis sharing the same bloodline as Elsword.

Why the El Lady didn’t possess that main character…? I have no clue.

It’s still this deus ex machina, or something fairly close to it.

I did chuckle at seeing Lu/Ciel being worthless and then looking surprised.

    • Telstel says:

Um, you forget that Elesis is older, (somewhat) wiser and stronger than Elsword and has a greater affinity to her Fire powers than Elsword does.

I think the El Lady chose Elesis cause of above and can resonate and generate greater power through her and being that Elesis is Grand Master, Elesis purity and righteous path just aids the power that El Lady needed to try and stop the summoning…

We are still unsure of the true outsome til the translation dialogue to the last quest is complete, however, considering a few things, we may be getting a Lanox Secret, 3rd job advancements (about time, but how on earth are you going to top titles like Grand Master and Blade Master?! Good Luck KR in working that out…) and from this video, an upgrade to GoD events, we have to fight this hand thing back to where it comes from…

That’s all i can come up with, but please, Elesis hasn’t shown up in all the clear vids, sheesh, she only showed up in 2 of them, velder clear and this one.

All of need to take a chill pill and see that the El Lady chose the right person to aid her work well and if you still on the Grand Chase theme, then sure, they chose Elesis as fitting tribute to the end of Grand Chase!

      Everyone HAPPY!!!
      XD

        That makes me wonder…

What about Crimson Avenger? She’s INSANE.

I think the El Lady would rather pick Infinity Sword over HER.

        • L says:

If they picked IS, they would have a gold IS. Having a gold IS makes him feel like Gilgamesh, which would make him seem more like a ripoff. So maybe another reason they picked Elesis was to avoid making too many references.

          • Anonymous says:

… Gilgamesh? What game/anime is he from?

Plus, who said it HAD to be gold? WHY NOT SILVER?! RED?! WHATEVER?!

          • L says:

Fate Stay Series Waero made some comics on how IS could be like Gilgamesh considering how his attacks are like Gates of Babylon. The whole gold thing makes them look more holy and special. This is like the second coming of Jesus. How El Lady and Elesis are one and the same. They just need a third entity to make the holy trinity.

          • Anonymous says:

            I took a look, and… I’m not seeing it.

A gold Infinity Sword looking like a Gilgamesh ripoff? LET’S NOT FORGET HOW ELSWORD DOES NOT HAVE HIS POWER TO SUMMON BLADES ‘NATURALLY’! AND BY THAT I MEAN HE’D NEVER BE ABLE TO DO IT WITHOUT CONWELL! Also, IS’s outfit looks like NONE of Gilgamesh’s!

            No. Just… no.

          • L says:

The magic word is “like.” IS has elements to his character design and skill tree that make him seem like a reference to Gilgamesh and a reference to Archer (Shirou).

          • Anonymous says:

            I’m still not seeing it.

IS may have the blades thing, but it’s not even in the same way as Gilgamesh. And IS doesn’t really resemble Gilgamesh either.

Besides with all the stuff that Elsword has pulled, I doubt it would really matter. I mean, they got SCOUTERS! SCOUTERS I TELL YOU!

THEY EVEN DID THE OVER 9000 MEME IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THE SCOUTERS!

        • zetgeist says:

but of course CAv wouldn’t be relevant since apparently only the [white] classes are canon. even when something else would be more logical. because kog` are lazy and not terribly bright.

          • Anonymous says:

            No, technically they are canon.

Perhaps in the future we can see an update where the alternate classes get different clear videos when applicable.

      • TehFoxSays says:

Elesis also showed up in the Sander clear video.

        • Endgame says:

Yeah, and she couldn’t handle a few tentacles.

Mighty Elesis, able to match the Demon Captain as a pre-teen girl. Able to nuke demons without harming her little brother. Reincarnation/descendant of the El Lady….. has a weakness to tentacles.

What the hell kind of message is KOG trying to send here?!

      • Stalker-Chan says:

        OR MAYBE

The El Lady chose Elesis cuz she was female and being in a male body(Elsword) would be….awkward

  • Enemy says:

Does it mean that with the next “story” patch old locations will change? Like the Cataclysm of WoW?

  • Anonymous says:

    Well this is interesting.

I once recolored Grand Master to be gold instead of red (Minus eyes and eyebrows) and then I look at this video AND SHE TURNS GOLD WHILE THE LADY OF EL USES HER BODY!

EVEN MORE, SHE’S FREAKING GRAND MASTER!

    COINCIDENCE?!?!

    • Endgame says:

Nope, it’s no coincidence. Their favorism towards Grand Master is blatant. (Except for in PVE where she’s basically a support class ever since they gutted Rushing Sword.) She’s even on the top of KOG’s official blog: http://blog.naver.com/kogblog

And the less said about how powerful GM truly is in PVP, the better. I’d rather have Addhole be considered the star and not Elesis if only to spite KOG. Even if it’s just that the PVP community can’t figure out how to bait and dodge the auto-aim projectiles…..

    • Anonymous says:

I found that pic I made again and realized something.

I actually did recolor her eyes and eyebrows.

  • Nask says:

    Huh.

“And so thus began the advent of Lady Elesis, avatar of Lady El to purge and stall the evil which threatens to engulf Elrios, armed with Great Glowing Sword of Unbannable and clad in scarlet armor with immodest back, blessed by Lady El, to stall the abominal Killermonger Ouroborus Gee.

It is not the duo of demon loli and phoru-loving butler, neither of a certain scientific lunatic nor brother-pinning Gumiho lass, or of a sullen leader with a great Nasod claw or enigmatic queen of ancient times or armor clad lad armed with great cannon, and neither of thousand year old big busted master leg-fu elf, magic drained loud mouthed magician and certainly not a red-haired short stack, he who gradually loses his limelight and thunder to his much better sister, for it is Elesis who shall save Elrios. Thus the heroine is born into legend, thus so shall it be.

  • VoidGazer says:

    lel

Elesis was the first thing to come in mind for the goddes of the game, i mean, without counting the boys for obvious reasons, we have:

    An annoying and impatient mage
An Elf which nature can be as bright as the day and dark as the hell
a Robotic girl without emotions (yeah, nobody eats that anymore, even the japanese)
    An Already possessed girl
    And a chibi demon girl

Wherever you see, even with her tough and tomboyish nature, Elesis is the only one (At least as GM becuz BH is more lol and CA is Yuno+Ryuko in a nutshell) that could be possesed by the Lady of El because she is the only one who could maintain a calm mind, even with the end of the world in front of her :v

  • ~Anon~ says:

Welp. I guess they should change the name of the game to Elesis Now.

  • Endgame says:

    Wait, wait, wait.

The ritual was to revive the Demon Lord/God. (2nafish keeps flipflopping on the translation. Or is it KOG switching the terms around?)

All El Ladysis did was seal it.

…..So obviously, the damn thing is still alive. Meaning the demons (Led by Ran?) are going to break the seal and free it at some point.

Buuuuut the implications of video suggest that the Demon Lord/God would destroy Elrios instantly! And of course, whenever a video game has one of these ancient evil gods, there WILL be a fight with them. Guaranteed.

And apparently, the story states that “the El Lady has abandoned Elrios.” Whatever that’s supposed to mean.

…..So, what will the plot device allowing the victory over the damn thing will KOG go with? (From a story standpoint. We all know it’ll just be a high HP punching bag as a boss and +11 weapons will allow it to be killed in under a minute not counting any cutscenes they throw into the battle.)

    A. Elesis kills it anyway because she’s just that awesome.
    B. Elesis becomes the next El Lady and destroys the Demon Lord/God.
    C. Elesis performs a heroic sacrifice to defeat the monster….. only to eventually come back eventually. Like Jesus!
    D. The Demon Lord/God is a genre savy guy and just ups and runs away because he knows better than to **** with a Mary Sue.

Seriously. This just reeks of KOG setting up an even bigger moment of triumph for their favorite child.

    • L says:

Where was it stated that “the El Lady has abandoned Elrios”?

I was hoping for Elesis to go through some turmoil like Rubia Elstein did when she found out she was the reincarnation of the Sacred Queen in Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance. Like maybe have Elesis have memories of the second El Lady and begin to doubt the religion or organizations that surround the Masters and priestesses. Then pull the Apollonius trick from Aquarion which shows that she isn’t the El Lady we are led to believe, but rather someone close to her.

      • Endgame says:

Someone on the NA forums posted a conversation with his/her friend that can apparently read korean and summarized the story quest dialogue. (Since 2nafish himself has apparently moved on to translating Closers’ story and only really does translations of patch notes for Elsword now.)

After killing Scar, Artea (Velder’s Nature Priestess. Ignia was her bodyguard, but for some unexplained reason she joined the demons, most likely was the one to open the portal in Velder, kidnapped Artea, and was mind controlling her to make that giant hole.) says that “the El Lady has abandoned Elrios”.

What this actually means, I have no idea. Especially considering we just saw the El Lady SAVE Elrios…..

Also in vague details: Whether or not Ignia really is a priestess or an impostor considering her role in all this.

  • Uncertain says:

I see people often saying there will be 3rd job advancements? I doubt that. If anything it’ll be a new 4th branch. Lu/Ciel pretty much already made it so that there’s a possibility it could happen. There’s Chiliarch/Dreadlord, Royal Guard/ Noblesse, so wouldn’t that mean for their next branches it’ll have to be Lu(1st job, 3rd branch)/Ciel(2nd job, 3rd branch), Ciel(1st job, 4th branch)/Lu(2nd job, 4th branch)? Unless they’re going to do it like Lu(1st job, 3rd branch)/Ciel(2nd job, 3rd branch), Ciel(1st job 3rd branch)/Lu(2nd job, 3rd branch). Who knows. KOG could go both ways with that depending on how they feel. But I highly doubt it’ll be a continuation of the already made 2nd jobs. That would kind of screw up the story for characters who already have achieved their goals or realized that there’s no more they can do. For example, Diabolic Esper. Where is he going to go from there? He already realized there’s nothing more he can do and has set out on an endless rage of destruction.

  • Robin says:

The only time we get to see Rena second job. ( I was really hoping for wind sneaker but grand archer is oh k)

Is it me or i think it would have made a lot more sense if Rena was possessed by the El lady since she has a close friendship with nature and stuff

    • Endgame says:

Aisha: Was a master magician when she was 12 and has mastery over all the elements *Coughperfectcandidatecough*/darkness/Time and Space.

Rena: An elf, close to nature, quite capable with magic.

Elesis: A tomboy with a sword.

Not possessing Eve (KOG can’t even make up their minds if she’s a human with robotic enhancements or just a robot that looks like a human.) or Lu (demon) makes sense. And it’s not like any of the guys are that impressive from a power standpoint. (Chung and Add’s destructive abilities come from their more technologically advanced weaponry, not their own powers.)

…..But from a pure narrative standpoint (Not counting the obvious future reveal of Elesis being of the divine bloodline or whatever.), Aisha (ESPECIALLY when they went with EM for the videos. EM having mastery over the elements and the El Lady supposed to be an uber EM + light and darkness mastery.) and Rena would have made much more sense as vessels than Elesis.

      • L says:

So magic is considered to be their own powers, but the creation of more technologically advanced weaponry is not?

What form of power takes on the form of intelligence without relating it to magic or Harry Potter? Can’t we just have some dude bring in bio-weapons like Q fever or something? It’s not like this game has any competent alchemist that can make something other than Ice and food. Or is that still not their own powers?

What is your definition of power?

As for the El Lady, I thought Aisha would have a good candidate considering that she could control the elements. I thought Elesis would have been a candidate for story related reasons.

        • Endgame says:

“Power” is something that comes from within the person. Magical ability is power since it’s something the person worked to developed. Add’s weaponry however, is something anyone could use if given the chance.

Granted, it’s implied that everyone except Add (Who doesn’t even know what El is even though what it was what the Human Nasod War was over. Writer oversight? Writer didn’t actually read the established lore?) has some level of magic ability. Even Elbrat knows how to strike the ground and make flames come out in base job.

          • L says:

So it has to be internal instead of external?

Crap, there goes my idea of an individual who has a monopoly on the pharmaceutical industry, knowledge of microbiology, and authority to sway the public into believing that this individual has the correct answer.

Would it be possible for someone like that to use their knowledge of microbiology to create bio-weapons that spreads disease through Elrios, and use their authority over it to sway the public into believing that the El getting corrupted is the cause and that individual withholds any kind of vaccine from them at the time. Creating a situation in which it is not socially acceptable to be using magic or El for any reason like what happened to Add. Which leads to the destruction of any El found by the government, much like the killing of cats was done to prevent the spread of the plague. Using the monopoly over the pharmaceutical industry to pressure alchemists into promoting this or otherwise be forced out of the market. Resulting in a crippled society based on the misinformation on the causes of a disease.

How likely is this scenario or is the answer to everything, magic?

Like, magic is capable of killing endospores! Or magic is capable of curing stds? Or maybe magic could be used to do everything, yet they choose to use the most inconvenient way of doing it like in Harry Potter.

What happens if a magic user, capable of making up everything along the way like they do in anime, fights someone who uses their environment and their intellect to make up for their lack of absolute power?

Like what if someone out of nowhere attacks the magic user, but the magic user goes and says that they can’t die because of magic. Or what if the magic user is restrained, but the user goes and says that restraints don’t work because of the enchantments the magic user has.

How do you deal with magic, something that isn’t defined and can be made up along the way, using normal means?

What I am getting at is, if Aisha is capable of all doing everything really associated with magic, why couldn’t she have sealed the Demon God or whatever in an isolated space and wipe that space from existence? Why can’t she use her control over the elements, such as earth to close the hole? Why didn’t they just use the fact that magic can be anything or be made up along the way to justify that she was/possessed by the El Lady? She has the capability to become anything. It’s like how Power Rangers don’t use their Megazord right off the bat to kill their enemies?

          • L says:

“capable of doing everything associated with magic”
