- What was the response from fans after releasing Lu Ciel?
A: After the initial release of LuCiel, we hit the record of most players playing Elsword ever for this Winter Season. I think the driving force between Elsword’s growing popularity is new characters that cannot be played in any other games. I’m glad LuCiel also played their part in this.
- Which character was more popular between Lu and Ciel?
A: It was different depending on personal tastes of the players. There was a tendency for male players to like Lu and females players liking Ciel, but I think what players are most enthusiastic about was the two character’s relationship. There are players that like Lu’s powerful and accurate play style but there are also players that like Ciel’s fast and skill focused play style.
- How does marriage work in game for Lu and Ciel? (What gender is the character treated as?)
A: Since Lu and Ciel combined can marry any other character in the game, there is no restriction in marriage for Lu Ciel. Only Lu or Ciel, the character that is being married can enter the wedding event. It does feel strange thinking of Lu/Ciel watching their partner marrying.
- Will there be any more Duo Characters?
A: I did mention the possibility of more pair characters during Elesis update, but I was surprised that some players thought every character that’s released from then on will be pair characters. Of course if there are enough players that want them released, I won’t discard the possibility. Still, just like how only pair character that currently exist is Elesis, only duo character that exists is Lu Ciel. We developers want players to know that we always want to present something new to our players.
- There are opinions that Lu and Ciel’s settings overlap with other characters? What do you think about this?
A: It could look that way when considering from regular character’s perspective as Lu Ciel are fighter and gunblade concept characters.But the core concept for Lu Ciel is duo system that combines these two different battle styles. There are too many characters now to distinguish characters by just their weapons. Lu Ciel was a character born from desire to give different experience to the players and if you actually try the character, you’ll see that they are clearly different from other characters.
- Last words for ‘Elsword’ users?
A: From the start we wanted one thing. To provide for the current users that enjoy Elsword, a game that they can play proudly and to have them meet with even more new friends inside the game. We worked towards releasing characters and contents that cannot be seen in other games. Through more updates, we will continue to work hard so many people can play and enjoy ‘Elsword’.
Add may not be as similar to Eve as Elesis was to Elsword, but I still believe there’s enough reason to say he’s Eve’s pair. After all, he’s got floating Nasod weapons, he can use projectiles generated from his dynamos (Yes I know Eve uses her hands but she herself is a Nasod so it still counts) his magical is higher than his physical, and LP and MM used CN and CEm as a base.
Well Endgame isn’t going to like the fact that Elesis is going to get her own Manwha. The LN based on the lore may sound good on paper, but if they start adding too much detail that isn’t in the game itself, people who come to play the game after may think that it wasn’t meeting their expectations.

Tbh you could say raven and eve are pair chars both their awakening systems work the same way(slight differences but uknowwhatimean) and raven is half nasod* (kinda) ‘shrug’ Add’s is this game technomage high damage(STUPID DAMAGE) moblie as arse and not great defense i guess?

What I see to be a pair character is someone who fights with a similar yet not entirely the same weapon as well as a combat style that at least resembles the original. Raven has a Nasod arm, yes, but it’s not a floating Nasod weapon, is it? While Add has multiple floating weapons and can use projectiles. Sure, he has a unique awakening system, but my point still stands.
Bullshit. Everything from Add’s base job is stolen from Eve while Elesis at least steals from Raven and Chung and not just Elbrat. LP very much just plain steals from Eve with a few Raven skills and Heavy Railgun. MM definitely steals plenty from Eve as well. (Complete with a copy of Empress’ Hyper, which was the only one that wasn’t a screen clear skill.) Although he also branches out more into stealing from everyone else. (Including stealing one of the few actual original skills Elesis had.)
DE is the only one that really doesn’t steal from Eve at all, even if all of his skills are still blatant copies of already existing skills. (lol obvious Energy Drain knockoff.)
Add only has one original skill in Pylon, Elesis at least has a few more unique skills. (Snap Crasher, Fireplay, Fire Stigma.)
Not to mention the heavy recycling between the skill tree of all three of Add’s 1st Jobs.
Face it, Elesis had more effort put into her than Add.

Also I’m guessing you never saw Seal of Time and Moonlight Rhapsody. Or Reverse Circle, Reverse Stigma, or Paranoia. I have yet to see anyone else with skills like those.
imo Instead of adding more duo chars, they should make Ruben a bit longer…

But no, seriously. There’s not a damn thing original about Elesis, (Literally ripped from KOG’s other game) Add, (He’s one of the most uninspired trashy “look how edgy I am!” characters I have ever come across. And I’ve seen plenty of anime and other japanese media of which his ilk is all too common.) Lu ,(Pedobait characters complete with “she’s really thousands of years old, so fap away!” excuse is Japan’s #1 export right now. Even Nintendo is in on this now with characters like Nowi from Fire Emblem: Awakening.) or Ciel. (He’s a copy of Raven AND Seha from Closers. Come on, he even looks like Seha in the intro before he made the contract with Lu. And the same type of weapon? Ha.)
Lu and Ciel together? Even Google translate comments of YouTube comments showed that Koreans were instantly reminded of Maple Story’s Zero. And in both pairs, the male is the one with the speed and ranged attack sword style while the female is the one with the slower, harder hitting attacks.
And all of the forementioned characters have little to no original skills. Most of their skills (ALL in the case of Lu and Ciel) are variations of skills already in the game.
So what the hell is actually new here?

And there was a recent poll on which character should be first to get an official Nendodroid (Add won. The hell?!) and I believe Lu was in third place and Ciel was dead last. (With Raven only slightly ahead.)

It felt like playing Raven and Chung. Hell, I’m pretty sure the only difference between Lu and Ciel’s >>^X and Chung’s is the animation and ammo requirement. I think the height is exactly the same too.
Volume 1 of the manga series is ready to be released soon. This series is named ‘Elsword 0′ and covers events just few years before Elsword’s story. The focus is on one of Elsword’s most popular character Elesis and tells the story of her journey around Elrios continent.
