Chemi Food Party Q/A

April 12th, 2015 | Posted by 2nafishisgood in Interviews

Official Summary Post by KOG

——-

Hello this is GM Riel.

Chemi food party event was held last April 4th.

As you might know already if you watched GM Megaphone, we didn’t just only make pizza but also had to Q/A time with the developers.

But since lots of people seem to be curious about the details of this Q/A, here is a summary of what kind of questions and answers were given that day.

▣ When will the hacking restoration support system be introduced?

Our current support is in the form of giving certain items to the hacking victims.
– A system to completely restore all items is in development and it’s planned to be updated rather soon.

▣ Is Choice based Skill Tree(Skill Tree Revamp tree) here to stay?

It’s planned to be removed.
– The concept of skill tree itself will disappear and the method to acquire and level up skills will change.
All of this will be carried out along with the character renewal that will that place this summer.

▣ What is your standard for the balance patches?

Standard for balance is ‘how many users select this?’
– The selection also encompasses skill usage rates which we think is important too.

– It’s important to think about what is the goal of balance patches, and we think that its goal is to diversify the selections. Character’s performance is just one of the many reasons that result in selections. Thus, we don’t think performance should be sole standard for balancing.

– By balancing the game this way, more characters or classes that aren’t selected should become better and the skills that are chosen too much can become weaker.

– There were opinions that older characters are lacking in many ways compared to the newer characters.

This problem will also be adjusted in the character renewal that will take place this summer using the balancing standard mentioned above. This way, characters that aren’t selected too much and characters that aren’t selected because of their performance will be adjusted.

▣ Is there a plan to stabilize ED prices?

We don’t think ED retraction method that targets the players will solve the problem. That is actually the form that people who want to sell ED for real currency wants.
– We think the problem lies with in game prices that are based on ED to real Currency exchange. So we will try to suppress real currency exchange the best we can which will help retract ED.

– The ED retraction rate is back to normal and is in good state currently. Please don’t buy items from real currency trades but buy from the market at their market prices. If the market prices continue to be adjusted abnormally there is no choice but to place restrictions in game.
.
– There is also a method to block all ED personal trade completely to stabilize the game prices. If the prices don’t settle down, there is no choice but to take this route despite our reluctance to carry it out.

▣ Is Auto party matchmaking here to stay?

– Playing together is a big goal for Elsword and is the fun factor of online games. We made our current auto party matching system, buff and reward systems developing that idea.
– There were lots of games that attempted this method but most were lacking or unsuccessful. We think Elsword’s matching system is being used well and is playing a good role in getting players to play together.

– Field is a free to enter dungeon that started along with the auto matching system. It was developed so players can auto match or enter dungeons from there.

– There are people that abuse auto party matching currently. We plan to add or adjust various systems like auto matching item restrictions, boot system and mark systems to develop the auto matching system to become better. There is no plan to bring back manual party system.

▣ Can’t you divide PvE and PvP skill tooltips?

In a game like Elsword where you can enjoy both PvE and PvP contents we think the ideal model is to prevent extra education and adjustment time by having same skill effects for both PvE and PvP.
– But some skills do have different functions depending on PvE or PvP because of the skill’s nature.

– Thus, it isn’t because we can’t that we aren’t dividing the skills. We will continue to work towards having unified skill tooltips for PvE and PvP while dividing them only if we feel it’s necessary.

▣ It feels Henir equipments are harder to make than Secret Dungeon equipments but aren’t that much better.

We will adjust them so they match the effort to obtain them.

▣ It’s hard to understand Elsword’s story and there are parts that feel forced. They try to find El and all they do is fight demons. It was especially hard to understand Elesis’s setting in Lanox movie. Scenario is already all organized very well. Start of Elsword’s journey is to take back the El, but the larger goal of the El search party is to restore the El. If you understand the story, you’ll be able to know why the Lady of El possessed Elesis.
– We think the problem lies with both lack of sufficient explanation in parts that need them and the crude way of showing the game’s story. We are currently preparing to organize the story quest more generally and to have it show the story more effectively. It’s a fun and exciting story so be ready.

▣ There are players that are damaging the game by using IP DDOSattack.  What are you doing about this?

We are well aware and it’s a clear violation of the law.
– We put in a ban according to the ingame records, and are compiling evidences that are suspected to be DDOS attacks and is preparing the lawsuit.

▣ (Old) Magic Necklace is ruining the game balance in Ereda Island and many more.

– We stopped selling old magic necklaces long ago because we thought it would ruin the balance too. But there’s still lots of them in circulation and is being sold in very high prices.
– We plan to do something about this issue soon. We ask for many user’s cooperation and understanding regarding this matter.

▣ Why isn’t space and time scroll tradeable?

We made most items purchasable by cash tradeable long as they have no problems.
– We’ll look into why that item wasn’t tradeable and if there is no problem with it being tradeable, we will adjust it so it’s tradeable.
(Carried out on 04/09 update.)

▣ Is there a plan for Shared account bank?

It might look different but we do plan to develop a feature that allows moving untradable items within same accounts.

▣ Is reaper title planned to return?

Reaper title was the title you could obtain by repeating the max level dungeon at the time so it had the ability that was appropriate to the effort.
– At the time you had to repeat the max level dungeon but since the level cap was increased we couldn’t give it the same ability.

– The current title that can be obtained by running last max level dungeon is a title that replaced the Reaper title. If it’s determined lacking compared to the reaper title, it will be adjusted to be a match for the reaper title.

▣ Timestop for skills was removed for the boss monsters, we want it back.

Timestop feature was a double edged sword that concerned the developers since the time of Elsword’s development. Timestop makes a stage for fancy skill execution but has a downside of stopping the flow of the online game that’s supposed to be played together.
– 4 players were using unnecessary time stops in a dungeon frequently. So first, timestop for the party member’s skills was removed.

– But there was still a problem. If 4 players go around taking turns using skills and drinking potions, dungeon boss monster wasn’t even allowed to move. This problem with having useless bosses got even worse when the Ara character was introduced as her skill chaining stopped the game even more frequently. Ara’s skill chaining system even made developers think about timestop issue in pvp too.

– Later we tried removing the timestop in a 12 player content Boss raid and determined that having no timestop can give more fun.

– So we removed the timestop from boss monsters as well. There were lots of dissatisfied users because of this but we plan to fix the problems associated with this by giving more hitstun time and
etc.
– One of the recent solutions was to add a counter to the super armor that prevents hitstun.
When users purposely continue to attack the boss in super armor, while they don’t stop completely, they can counter the super armor patterns. You might already know, but some bosses became even weaker because of this. But we think that’s still reasonable than the unfairness that results with a timestop.
– There were lots of opinions about Ara’s secret art usage. Even if boss’s timestop was removed, Ara’s secret art system is a big advantage that only Ara has. Thankfully, boss monsters aren’t smart as you users. If you use secret are after analyzing the boss patterns bosses won’t be able to dodge it.

▣ Cube open animation seems too long and unnecessary. Can you remove it?

We will first remove it from cubes that have no random elements.
– We will think able less boring animation time for cubes with random elements.

▣ Is there a plan to compensate the Giant Boss raid weapon?

Concept of raid boss weapons is that it’s a luck based item with less emphasis on effort. Thus, we made it +9~10 when it was acquired. So since it was developed with a thought that there were no efforts to acquire them, there should be no effort that should be conserved.
– But there were users that put in additional enhancements on the raid boss weapons. It’s regrettable but there is no plan currently to conserve that effort. We regret that we should have made them unenhancable, or made them drop with highest enhancement values.

– In the future, revamped Raid boss rewards will be very different and level 80 raid boss weapons will be last of their series.

▣ Equipments make too much difference in PvP and it’s unfair.

Elsword is not a pure PvP game. It’s a game that puts more factors other than control into consideration like level, growth and collectibles and deems all of them important.
But we don’t just use PvE stats like some other games. We only allow 10% increase in attack that result in level and equipments.

– There are lots of effort involved in collecting and enhancing equipments in Elsword and we believe there should be a feedback to those efforts.

– It’s hard to determine how much advantage should be allowed. If a 10% standard is determined to be too much, we think it should be changed. We will look again into this issue. Still, we believe that if there are no large difference in skills between the players, the one who put in more effort should win. Our revamp standard will be based on this idea. Alternatively, we believe that even if there are slight difference in skills, the difference should be manageable long as they have good equipments.

– Example : There is a SS rank and S rank with same equipments. S rank with a even better equipment should be able to manage the rank difference, and only players with both good equipments and skills can become SSS rank.

▣ Why did you remove apples purchasable from AP? We’d like them back.

– Many rewards obtainable with AP was overlapping with other content’s rewards so they were removed all together.
– But the rewards obtainable with AP aren’t very diverse at the moment and the dungeons that require more consumables is increasing. There isn’t much ways to obtain consumables at the moment, so we think apples will be good way to spend AP. We will make the purchasable again with AP soon as possible.

▣ When will you do Wardrobe ticket event, job change event and jumping event again?
No plans at the moment.

▣ When will the next character come out?No plans at the moment.

▣ What is the chance of IBs? It’s so hard to get anything.

We are optimistic about releasing the percentage of chance items.
– There were lots of considerations for the development team involving the sale of ice burner avatars.

– Currently players must go through trades to obtain the IB avatars they want and unnecessary price changes occur during the process. We are planning to better this problem by trying many systems of selling Ice burner avatars that won’t result in the loss for users that are willing to pay appropriate price for them.

▣ If there’s problem with the trade environment because of hoarding large amount of money, how about running a ‘buying’ board?

It could be a good way to introduce good buyers with good sellers. We will think about developing this feature.

Right from KOG themselves: They just plain don’t give a **** about actual balance.

But as they decide to be honest with us, they’re full of shit at the same time. I sincerely doubt you’ve been constantly nerfing Aisha and Code Nemesis because they’re too popular.

If you understand the story, you’ll be able to know why the Lady of El possessed Elesis.
That’s not what’s confusing people. We all know she’s KOG’s favorite child and they’re trying to propel her to the level of the biggest Mary Sue in the history in fiction. KOG even pulled the same descendant/reincarnation of a goddess thing with Elesis in Grand Chase. (Grand Chase’s world is even named after the goddess Elesis is somehow related to!)

What’s confusing people is the “visions”. Were Altera and Elder really wrecked? Or was that just what she prevented, or what?

But there was still a problem. If 4 players go around taking turns using skills and drinking potions, dungeon boss monster wasn’t even allowed to move. This problem with having useless bosses got even worse when the Ara character was introduced as her skill chaining stopped the game even more frequently.
No KOG, the bosses aren’t useless because we can stunlock them like that, the bosses that aren’t Karis (And let’s be honest, it’s only because of the 20 second stoic and players being too stupid to run away in addition to her attacks actually hurting..) are useless by design. You suck at boss design.

Seriously, Scar came out after this removal, and he’s the biggest joke of a “main villain” that I can think of in recent memory. That goes for ALL media, not just video games. Banthus puts up more of a fight to low level players than Scar does to level 75+ players.

Helputt barely being able to attack with everyone spamming skills is a symptom of his shitty design. Helputt is still an absolute joke because he takes forever to attack and hits like a wet noodle. Removing the screen freezes changed nothing.

Hell, let’s go back to Ran, something made by the newer team that replaced Naddic before their stages and new characters degraded to pure shit. He had high HP and hit like a wet noodle. His constant super armor left him open to skills often. The “awakening” + Reverse Gravity phases only served to drag out the battle. He wasn’t at all challenging. Not even when fighting two at once in Henrir. He was just ANNOYING to fight before the ST Revamp power creep kicked in because of how long he lasted. (And I got Sword of Splendor and Absolute Henir gear and a Transcended Staff on by DW, so I had to fight him many, many, many times…..)

What did KOG solve by removing the screen freezes? Absolutely nothing. The skills give iframes that cause boss attacks to go through the players. No difficulty was added.

How many problems were caused? Ara’s Secret Arts need no explanation. Bosses with super armor can just walk out of skills like Nuclear and even their precious Hyper Actives…..

But hey, was anyone really delusional enough to believe KOG knows what they’re doing?

    • L says:

Maybe their fans in Korea that seems to be going to their interviews and booths.

I did find Karis to be easy by doing rotations with the other players. Not that hard to avoid her attacks. I can also understand that the other bosses are not that great. Their solution to making them better was giving them longer stoic and easier to activate. They did this to Ruben because they couldn’t think of anything new it seems.

Endgame, would it be better if the bosses had Epic NPC AI with instead of being tanky with 40+ hp bars, consistent stoic, and lack of variety in attack patterns?

      • Endgame says:

Epic NPC AI is pretty dumb to be perfectly honest. They’ll run right into Aisha and Rena’s ^Xs. But yes, it would be an improvement.

Really, they should take some notes from the original team and Closers: Closers bosses don’t last nearly as long as Elsword’s bosses. (In the face of non-pay2win gear. They both go down quickly when you have pay2winners in the party.) However, their attacks hit hard. Some are essentially instant kills if you get caught and Forced Cancel (The “mana break” skill.) is on cooldown. Some are just plain one shot attacks. And this makes battles much more engaging.

So basically, they need to make boss attacks harder to dodge. It’s too easy to avoid getting hit altogether at this point. (Especially after stage revamps butchered bosses like Berthe and Dark Nephilim.)

    • Malle says:

Fuck you Endgame. I agree with everything you just said!

    • UNub says:

Code: Nemesis is actually strong in 3v3 due to Atomic Shield (which got toned down later, still strong as hell). In Ereda it has less usage, but she still has the strongest hyper in the game and high control potential when you gear her up and get classes with synergy (Diabolic Esper fits the bill, Lord Knight, Iron Paladin, etc.).

Anyway the whole “character balance” thing relies on the whining of S1-S2. DW was gutted repeatedly and they kept gutting her more because she was so stupidly strong before. Then classes like TT and IP outright DIED in S2, they were buffed outright again because nobody would play them. Aisha’s player base did not experience the drastic drop that IP and TT did, especially after Meditate was fixed.

They do not pay attention to PvP for the most part because Elsword isn’t a PvP based game. Sucks for NA who basically is 10% PvP and 90% salt. Dimension Witch is super strong in PvE, so is Aisha in general. The male Mage(DFO) of Elsword.

I don’t know what you mean by boss design though, Raid bosses were glorious. Gigantic HP with no defense, allowing a spamfest of epic proportions. You can die extremely easily unless you’re using a mount, which STILL might not save you if you don’t have super gear. Any 4 person team with gear can utterly destroy Elsword’s PvE, not just bosses. Even more true after Hypers were released.

The main selling point of bossing in Elsword is that the boss can kill you faster than you can kill it. That’s always how it’s been. Delaying other players with your skills back then amounted to a 80%+ death ratio per dungeon you had with idiots. Delaying the boss makes the battle system of the bosses killing you nearly impossible — it lowered the gear standard you needed until you got to Nephilim who gives no care about delays. That dungeon outright massacred people during release, not only because of lv48 cap, but because you couldn’t delay him and doom him within 60 seconds.

Semantics here and there, people didn’t play Elsword because bossing was complex or anything. People played because of the battle system with skills and how refreshing it was when it first came out. Every new character just one-ups the last with flashy skills and addicting playstyles, so they aren’t doing anything wrong.

Does that justify PvP being a steaming pile? No, everyone knows it doesn’t. But official tourneys have been moved to Sparring where DoT is more of a problem than gear/ OP skills.

Does it make no delay fun? No. It’s a terror to Ara’s and it’s annoying to people who just want to go ham. PvE was always brainless however, so this makes you need a brain to not just walk into the boss’ oneshot combo and end him before he even moves.

P.S. Type-H got MUCH harder to beat without an EM or GA in your team. I’d like it if you didn’t try to convince people that PvE bossing barely changed. Only the meatier/bigger bosses didn’t change (which is what Scar sadly is). All the people-sized bosses are monstrous or EXTREMELY annoying. Looking at Spriggan. >=/

The truth has been spoken in perfection

  • Gan says:

I want 1 thing and that’s buff Raven. Buff as in him making more combo recources. I have no use for chars that only rely on pure power e.e

That’s my only reason to play elsword, I love Raven QAQ!!

    • Gan says:

      Sorry for english e.e

    • Endgame says:

Raven (ESPECIALLY BM) has been in a pretty bad place in a long time. (Not that it stopped people from whining about Core or getting one shotted by Harpoon Spear because they were too stupid to stack Red Damage. Core only ignores defenses, not Red Damage.)

I have a solution for BM though: A passive that increases his damage the longer a combo goes on. As in, each consecutive attack increases his damage/attack by a certain amount, which would mean you would WANT to actually mana break from his combos instead of letting him hit you with that combo powered finisher. Should be simple enough and fits the theme of BM being about longer combos and damage over time instead of burst damage. (While also giving him some burst damage.)

  • ShadowsFortune says:

KoG there some things that i’m liking and theres things i’m fucking hating.

Account storage? Great, now i can trade my RoF and good equip through chars on my acc.

Balance? Are you fucking serious? KoG you nerfed classes that didn’t even need nerfing and are underpowered because of that.

The “newest” character LuCiel i literally fucking weaker than almost every character in every aspect. Base job isn’t even a good as Eve or Aisha. You called LuCiel “resource efficient, not damage efficient” yet you fucking nerfed all their resources to fucking trash… You can’t fucking charge gauge anymore, yet all the sakura devnams i fight in pvp just run and fucking charge flying kite. YET YOU DON’T DO JACK SHIT ABOUT IT FOR MONTHS, MAYBE A YEAR. ALL of LuCiels current Gauge skills are utter fucking shit, the hitboxes are tiny and the animations are big, the hitboxes are TOO tiny for the animation such as oblivion, the enemy does not get damaged even though i see them in the animation, i even tested it. But oh no ara’s flying kite. THE RANGE is too fucking far and unfair and does WAY MORE damage than oblivion and shit like that.

I’m not even done yet, i feel so fucking bad when i fight a Dimension Witch, they’re so weak i feel sad for them, but nope elemental master is the fucking top-bitch of pvp atm. And it all comes down to gear in the end. You guys fucking make classes shit, LuCiel is new yet BARELY ANYONE plays LuCiel, you fucking took the things they use away from them. But DW is just a fucking mess… i mean shes so fucking weak. SHE NEEDS A BUFF, shes just as rare as me encountering another LuCiel in PvP. Buff that shit, the only nerf i want on aisha is teleport getting nerfed. It’s too unfair, put a COOLDOWN on it. koreans always fucking coming in and teleporting out instantly, some of you may not agree with teleport being nerfed but it’s just too fucking unfair of movement. Aisha gets too much distance from you and my skills ALWAYS miss when i fight aisha due to that shit, you corner then and actually combo them? Nope, just 1 second that they aren’t hit or if they are a lagger they TP out.

It’s funny KoG you show Dread Lord with fucking throwing stars in his picture, YET HE DOESN’T USE THEM. ONLY IN 1 COMBO EXTENSION, THAT IS A BURDEN TO USE. ALL OF LUCIELS COMBOS FROM JOBS SUCK ASS, CIEL IS TERRIBLE AT CATCHING TOO. HOW ABOUT MAKING CHANGES IN HIS SKILLS, SINCE THEY’RE ALL FUCKING USELESS, LOOK AT SUMMON DARKNESS, IT ONLY HAS 35% OF YOUR ACTUAL HP AND LUCIEL IS PAPER DEFENSE WISE. He dies in fucking seconds in PvP.. HIS DAMAGE is SHIT for a summon when compared to oberon/etc EVEN THE BASE JOB SUMMON SKILL for Eve is better than Summon Darkness…. He dies so easily and it’s probably the most useless skill in the ENTIRE skill tree. and best of all, it’s for level 55 yet it’s like i’m using a level 5 skill with terrible damage.

Everyone though LuCiel was going to be good or something like that. Nope fucking terrible. You make the jobs useless. I don’t even use Dread Lord’s hyper since it’s so fucking bad, tbh it’s a fucking burden to use. The damage is TERRIBLE and it’s just a copy paste of the skill oblivion skill. Summon a demon from the ground with half a body was already used with oblivion, but you put it in for the hyper skill too? are you fucking stupid? How about putting skills with throwing stars in them? Oh wait you never did. also a passive to increase dark element snatch effectiveness? Are you saying Dread Lord NEEDS to have that fucking element? Stupid ass passive. It makes sense since you literally TOOK ALL THE MANA-GAIN from LuCiel by fucking HALVING IT.

What about the sparring room? I like to train sometimes with friends. But nopeeee fucking bugs EVERYWHERE. Elsword can freeze everyone on-map with mega-slash, Lunatic Psyker can abuse a passive with a bug and make himself go atleast at 200% speed to the point where he goes faster than the blink of an eye. I’ve seen elesis have a bug where her HP is like infinite or some fucking shit, i fought this elesis and my HP burning didn’t even take off her HP, she wasn’t killed after me and a team fought her for 50 minutes in sparring. I also saw a bug with a crimson avenger where if she kills your character, you go into a fall over-dying animation multiple times for like 5 minutes and do not respawn until your characters body disappears. Ara has a bug with a skill on places like the arena map where she can drag people with the direction of her spear for a few seconds by using a certain base job skill and falling in the middle of the map. Raven has a bug with Limit Charger where when he is hit he will ram into the enemy and hit them with abnormal damage and it can be spammed if he is hit from behind and can easily kill a user. There is so many fucking bugs, last week i saw a bunch of people spamming hyper skills and regular skills that do not consume MP, maybe it was a bug or a hack. I went into a SSS match with a Rune Slayer and he spammed Storm blade 5 times in a row at the start of the match and ran into me and i died instantly.

FIX THE FUCKING GAME PROPERLY ATLEAST. FIX THINGS THAT NEED FIXING THE MOST, LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY FOR ONCE.

    Fucking done my rant.

Tl;dr: Nerf EM and buff DW and other weak classes and buff LuCiel and fix bugs that have been in Els for ages, Improve character job extension skills for LuCiel.

    • Endgame says:

EM isn’t even that overpowered in PVP anymore. (She’s still the PVE goddess though.) She’s still good at run and charge and winning by timeout, (Which she ALWAYS was. Even when people thought she was “trash tier” after they first nerfed her and Meditation. People just didn’t know how to play her defensively/evasively yet.) but her damage output is low at this point. Lightning Shower can’t even be used to catch in 1v1 after the stun duration nerf. (Although it’s still just as good in team matches.)

VP is the only Aisha class that can even hurt anymore, but even Hell Stone was nerfed and her catching game was gutted when they nerfed gravity ball’s launch. She pretty much has to go for a RoF catch + 1 combo kill now. (And I’m not sure she can even pull that one off so well anymore. She was the original master of the one combo kill with Adrenaline + Hell Stone.)

Although I do agree that at her core, EM has always been too easy to use. She should be powerful but harder to use like VP was until they nerfed her into the ground. She could also use more different element skills. (Where’s the god damn earth spells?!)

But DW….. she just plain needs all around buffs (Turn Magic Staff from proc based skill to straight up boost physical attack based off of magic attack passive.) and more diverse skills. She really doesn’t have much in terms of displaying control over time and space. She should get things like being able to teleport in all directions, create a field that slows projectiles, (ANYONE’S projectiles, which could add some neat cordinated attacks like slowing down a multihit projectile to get more hits out of it and the like.) and so on.

      • L says:

Her earth spell is a statue. Sadly that is all they gave her. I was hoping to see her earthbend and sling rocks and stuff like Toph.

      • ShadowsFortune says:

Dude maybe in your version EM is weak.

But holy fuck in KR she is TOO overpowered.

Her damage input is too unfair. VP is actually WEAKER than EM.

I’m not going to argue but in the KR version EM needs a fucking nerf. I have around 1.5kPvP wins and i’m SSS rank but everytime i fight an EM i lose. I barely have the chance to get next to them.

Atleast i can try and fight VP or DW but EM puts too much of a power distance, shes a party wrecker in the KR version and will crush people in an instant if she is geared well.

Meteor Shower and Chain Lightning are the skills that do too much damage. I know she should have some damage but jesus christ, those skills do TOO much damage on me. Tank or not. I’ve tested it with my best buddy last week in a sparring room. :v

Dw needs a buff without a doubt. Same with CN. Nobody plays DW/CN anymore in the KR version.

        • L says:

I found that in NA, when I played as EM, her skills didn’t do that much dmg if you were decently geared for a f2p player. Since ppl can freeze with orbs and stuff, I don’t need to be a BS shuttle, so I went with BS. Since I don’t pvp often on her, I went and got MS instead of LS. I tried LS, but the dmg I got from it wasn’t as good as before.

If possible, can someone explain to me how to get better on EM so I can do a lot of dmg and be OP?

At the end of the day, I still find EM to be boring compared to DW and VP. Too bad, I don’t have the money to job change or the time to restart ever since I got into University.

          • Nask says:

Stack crit and awakening for PVE, try to max awakening charge if you have BS. BS all the time and chain lightning/MS when BS is in CD. Try to buy cheap Aisha IBs from the board to increase sockets/stats for more crit/awakening. That’s pretty much it for EMs who want to do nothing but burn shit down and burn even the scraps that’s left.
For PVP, just stack add damage like you do with crit in PVE.

…I was going to type out a long post. but forget it. the sheer stupidity is making my brain hurt. it’s obvious these people have less understanding of how their own game works than sega does with PSO2, and sega’s already notorious for that. they think they know everything, but even washed up unemployed anonymii on the ‘net have a better grasp of this shit than they do. I quit. fuck it. I’ll keep one eye open, but this all is just… seriously not worth being invested in. they had a good game concept, but every time they do one semi-good thing they turn around and spend the rest of the year fucking up royally to nullify it.

this is why grandchase died. this is why everything else kog` has made is either dead or dying. kog` knows NOTHING. kog` learns NOTHING. at the rate they’re going they’ll be like cyberstep, trying and failing to beg on kickstarter for funding for their next project that they’d just ruin within a year and keep making worse as they go.

There is also a method to block all ED personal trade completely to stabilize the game prices. If the prices don’t settle down, there is no choice but to take this route despite our reluctance to carry it out.

Please, please, please, please. I can’t beg you enough to do this. Make it fucking happen!

    • zetgeist says:

why? goldfarming is the only thing that would affect. things that are overpriced because the only people getting them to drop already have hundreds of billions of ED would stay that way, because those people long since forgot that not everyone has that kind of money.

      you must remember the mindset:
“if I lower my price any, I’m losing money. I can’t do that. I have to price it as high as I can get away with. it doesn’t matter how long it takes to sell as long as it sells without someone else selling one for a higher price.”
nevermind how pants-on-head retarded that mindset is.

      • Anonymous says:

I always check the board prices before putting my own stuff on the board, and then put a slightly lower price for my stuff.

It’s partially to increase my chances of selling stuff, but I’m also hoping it’ll eventually get the board to stop inflating prices so that people can actually afford shit. Only reason I don’t do super low prices is because half the time I actually need the ED for something else that might not be able to wait.

      • Malle says:

Then they should change the max amount of money you can get in-game. Like 500mil is the max. And still keep the same ED drops like always. Or make the drop rate of items easier. Therefore this will encourage a trading system and that means marketplace returns. See I’m a genius.

  • thatguy says:

i give the game 2 more years then it goes under these stupid decisions kog has made as of late will be the thing that kills them in the long run @endgame its actually weird that i kinda agree with u on this post but im gonna say this dfo and closers are good examples of what bosses should be not what elsword does

    • L says:

Imagine if the bosses could fight like pvpers. Doing v steps, comboing, and etc.

      • Jack says:

They’d just suck slightly less since, let’s be honest, the elsword community is as a whole not that good since the game;s skill ceiling is kinda low, I know it doesn’t feel good to admit but yes, the game isn’t that hard to play even in PvP.

        • Endgame says:

Classes like VP and Empress have traditionally been amongst the best PVP classes but very few actually acknowledged it because not that many knew how to actually play them to know how strong they really were.

Meanwhile, Add caters to the braindead and is considered powerful just because any idiot can play him, but he’s actually very flawed. RS everyone considered “OP” because of >>^XZ, but >>^XZ is one of the absolute worst offensive catches in the game. It’s only good as a DEFENSIVE catch. As in, the morons couldn’t handle it because they were just rushing at the RS like a god damned idiot.

But if you play tactically, run away from the opponent to bait them into catches? You are a runner, the worst thing ever! Learn to play, ****ing noob!

…..So yes, the Elsword PVP community is very much braindead and has little idea how to play. Period. But who needs skill when you have a +10 weapon and a Ring of Fury?

          • L says:

It’s only running if the only objective is to run away for the rest of the match, retreating to lure them into your attack isn’t. This isn’t like some mortal kombat game where you run at each other and try to combo each other to death. A lot of players don’t understand that. Some that do try to lure just run half the time and spam some skills and run away again.

RS has a defensive catch, but like Elsword in general has less offensive catches in his arsenal compared to Elesis. I know a lot of people that dropped Empress and VP for their alternate classes. I’ve seen kids play as VP cuz they like how she dressed, but dropped her when they couldn’t even use her effectively.

          • zetgeist says:

“It’s only running if the only objective is to run away for the rest of the match, retreating to lure them into your attack isn’t.”

this is true. except the elsword “community” doesn’t understand this. as much as I loathe to agree with endy about anything, what he describes IS how it’s treated.

I remember back in the day when I still tried to PVP. and I wound up with people refusing to fight me 1v1 because I was a “runner”. because I didn’t play my GA like a WS.

generally the “community” surrounding elsword PVP is full of morons with a compulsive need to inflate their e-peens. try to imply that any form of gameplay in any game that isn’t PVP content requires any modicum of skill, and watch the explosive rage.

          • L says:

PVP has a catching game. You can just charge at each other and use comboes, but learning to catch and strategically retreat makes things a lot more interesting. For a GA, you don’t have to rush in like a WS, you can wait and charge. You can also bait by charging, and then suddenly get away from your opponent in order to make them open to an attack or to make them use up their MP. Then you can play defensive by retreating a bit to get them to chase you, allowing them to fall for your trap.

Sadly, I get called out for hacking when I pvp whenever I do anything now.

I’d they make the bosses from ruben to altera with skills of altera sd boss then r can say goodbye to less noobs because they have a sense of skill. If they make monstersv and bosses from feita to velder with dill levels a bit higher than hamel sd monsters then that would be fantastic. Keep saber the same. I like farming easy monsters to get level 70. However lanox. Omfg the biggest god damn joke in Elsword. I cleared every dubgeon in lanox with only using a +8 weapon and everything else naked. No title in under 8minutes. And i was watching gotham at the same time. It took so long cause i was distracted. I swear everything in lanox is soooooo weak. Made me feel bad for capping from feeding off disgustingly weak…teddy bears. I’m gonna call those monsters teddy bears from now on. They have a defense equivalent to a Chinese man’s penis. I’m not even kidding. BUFF LANOX.

Still better than what Closers has become.

“- There are lots of effort involved in collecting and enhancing equipments in Elsword and we believe there should be a feedback to those efforts.
we believe that if there are no large difference in skills between the players, the one who put in more effort should win.”

those ppl who complain about gears can go rage somewhere but not Elrios

    • L says:

Sadly, if NA does implement the kick system, we will have people who will kick people who are undergeared in SD and henir and create a materialistic barrier like in other games.

I just hope people aren’t that bad that they act like Elite mods in Combat Arms. Because, if this does get to be a problem, then newer players are going to have a tough time. But thankfully, the pre-upgraded SD sets seem to be cheap that you can make that amount in game in a week of grinding for levels.

  • East says:

Elsword is not a pure PvP game. It’s a game that puts more factors other than control into consideration like level, growth and collectibles and deems all of them important.
But we don’t just use PvE stats like some other games. We only allow 10% increase in attack that result in level and equipments.

God…KoG is fundamentally wrong on trying to unify pvp and pve, because in Elsword pvp is nothing like it’s pve, nothing transfers directly from pve to pvp, what I mean is, that you can be the best pve player in the game and still be horrible at pvp and vise versa. And the bs they’re talking about the 10% increase in dmg with pve gear over pvp gear is a complete joke, I think they mean a 10% increase of dmg in pvp with pve gear IF the pve gear is exactly at the same refinement level as the pvp gear, which is at +7, so a +11 wep is not only a whole lot stronger it also gets a 10% added bonus wtf dmg because it’s a pve wep, that’s just retarded, because you can’t get a higher refinement pvp wep…
Furthermore, the bs about the similar skill in pvp should favor the better geared person… yes, I agree with that, BUT the characters in Elsword inherently are NOT equally hard to play or in any way balanced, so that implication makes it even worse for the classes that rely solely on the skill of the player and not on the frame/hitstun/range/speed/auto movement and concept in general advantage. KoG has been pumping half assed, one button spam, l33t pvp characters since Ara one after the other so I kinda get what they’re trying to say, but it only works if you play with one of the new characters, the old ones are completely out of the picture, because they were balanced around each other where the new ones just don’t fit into those brackets and broke all laws that were loosely, however effectively put together by the old dev team.

  • Alexias says:

Hoooh……..I wonder what the new skill system be? I knew they had to change the skill system if they wanted to introduce 3rd jobs.(Cause HA skills are already end-game skills if we’re to follow the current skill tree system.) More skills? Mass Balancing? 3rd jobs gonna level the field? Oooohhhh!!! Hope KOG doesn’t mess up this one.(Please don’t. I beg of you.)

    Side-note:
Asura, CA, and TiT(later on, DE), finally arrived on my server.(ELSPH). As an LK, what can I say, fighting those three(especially CA), DAMN IT MAKES ME EXCITED!!!! LOOK AT THAT HANDICAP!!! IT’S OVERWHELMING!!!!(Yes, like to be the underdog. So long as the handicap is not THAT big.)

Btw, I noticed while going against them, but putting aside CA’s life steal, she’s a Glass Cannon. Not as much as Ara, since she’s still tough being Elesis, but compared to BH or GM, it’s quite easy to bring down her health.(Must be intentional due to her Blood Hit system, but still………it could work.)

Asura’s basically mid-way between SD and YR. So both classes’ weaknesses could be exploited on her(though less effective since she’s mid-way, but still works.) if you could get over her intimidation factor and constant awakens.

DiE………..Um…….I always do this when fighting an Add, but Stoic then hit him while he’s doing DP combos ’cause that’s the only time where he’s both at his most powerful and his most vulnerable state. Most vulnerable meaning that if you do manage to hit him twice in one hit, you could catch him defenseless. Or you could do this the hard way but more rewarding, a battle of attrition, who runs out of gas first, him or me.(Stoic duration vs DP gauge due to constant burning of DP to escape combos) Either way, if timed right, you can go for the kill.(Other classes with multi-hit combos can easily do option one, but against DiE, option 2 is the better option to make him unable to use skills. Of course you’d have to take into account if he uses Seal of Time, but still, it’s not like he can use it all the time.)

Well, there’s that. And I probably should make a VP and master it, cause it’s traditionally one of the most powerful classes but nobody bothers using her cause she’s so hard to use, which is my game.(similarly to LK, he’s so easy to use that he’s basically one of the weakest classes in-game…….at least until you realize that many of his skills don’t knockdown and hit hard and can be chained with combos. Like a skill-gate type of character, or an inverted bell type of growth.)
