Considering they’re still making characters for it, I would have to say no.
KOG released UNO on Grand Chase right before they announcing the end of the game. They said it was a desperate attempt to bring players back because the game was dying. Elsword is getting as disgusting and toxic as GC, so…
Not to mention the fact that they’re resorting to collaborating with other, more popular Nexon games. Nay, the second most popular Nexon KR game. (Fifa Online is first. Them other nations take their football pretty seriously.)

Then you realize that they’re making an Elsword anime by one of the top animation studios in Korea, and that the game is high up in the game ranking charts, and is one of Nexon’s top games right behind DFO.

Because according to the KR ranking website and gaming research groups said that Elsword is a MORPG and is ranked 18 in MMO. It is also making less than any of the other Nexon games at the moment.

Remember how everyone judged KOG in the renewals based on the patch notes they released before each patch? and remember how everyone was wrong most of the time?
Add in the fact that this is just a picture and KOG released a trailer that showed she doesn’t play like DC at all, and she’s suddenly unique.
Dc is also only one class in a game with over 25 branches while Rose is just a base character. Even if Rose somehow plays similar to DC, she has a lot of room in her class branches to stray off his path.

Actually, before the revamp, the Noblesse path gave Ciel more combos than Lu.
After the revamp, Lu and Ciel had the same amount of combos as eachother at 2nd job.

In their defense, KoG still has enough resources to commission an Elsword anime, and so is Closers, despite that game being completely irrelevant in terms of ranking in the Top 100 MMOGs in Korea.

Yes, this game does have problems, and it would be nice if KoG fixed them, but if people are seriously angry about it, they have the option to stop being involved with it. I, myself, actually enjoy this game and I plan to continue playing it in the future.
Flare Kyn, the issue with that stance is that leaving the problem alone. If no one criticizes the publisher or developer for their faults, they learn to believe that their consumers agree with their decisions. Making a problem out of it does nothing. And at times, leaving the game does nothing because they think its just players getting tired of their game and they will advertise until they can get more consumers. The option proposed by many who seek change in anything is to simply tell them your discontent, your inevitable desertion, and how you wished they could have done well. This has a larger effect because it has actually had effects.
For instance, this was the option used to fight against SOPA. Literally, the only example I need to provide to say that this is very effective. Sadly, this will probably fall on deaf ears because this is NA.

tbh i can’t think of any other kind weapon a character can have other than a sword, wand, bow, blade, drones, cannon, spear, dynamo, claw and gunblade. and drones and dynamo aren’t even weapons. I can tell this was rushed but what can you do after all the salt and broken classes there are.
You forgot Claymore. Also, there are plenty of other weapons that can be used, and they can even make some weapons up if needed.
Well… There’s axe, fists and kicks, mace, staff, nun-chucks, katana, boomerang, shield (could probably be used in some way), actual giant sword, hammer, crossbows, daggers…
In terms of weapons, there are quite a few possibilities really… Imean if they honestly went over the Grand Chase character’s, they probably would have found something decent they could use. Jin or Asin would have worked greatly tbh as no-one currently is just punches and kicks + that leaves the characters not too open to being extremely overpowered but gives them alot of room for development.
About the broken classes and all, they probably could have looked into all the ways people get 1-shotted and weakened all of those skills or potentially just double the amount of HP every character has. That would make everything last alot longer than 1 skill = 1 game. In terms of game mechanics like Dreadlord’s tricks to spamming combination skills, just make the stat effects do alot less, likewise limit alot of things. If a skill already gives mp back then don’t let it have an additional set of MP.
They should really lower how much % you get from enchanting weapons too… +11 and +12’s are too overpowered in general- maybe take away like 30% from each enhancement or so ( like +11 –> +12 gives you an extra 40%. 30% of 40 = 12. 40 – 12 = 28 so make +11 –> +12 go up by 28%)

I mean, for fuck’s sake, Grand Chase used plenty of weapons that Elsword hasn’t yet when they resorted to clone characters.
No, scratch that, Elsword’s own enemies have weapon choices that they could use for playable characters. Namely Karis. Who even fights like a playable character with the same knockdown iframes, combo loops, etc. She’s got a scythe which no one uses, and has plenty of potential for new mechanics. We don’t have aerial combos yet in Elsword, but Karis has wings! Hey, maybe SHE could be the aerial attacker the game lacks! She also has her mind control powers, an ability none of the playable characters have. (That she doesn’t use as a boss neither. Come on KOG…..)
…..Then KOG decided to kill her off. The end.
Weapons they haven’t used yet:
Scythe, axe, hammer, mace/flail, whip, nunchucks, fist/knuckle, shuriken/kunai, chakram, (Amy’s already set up for Elsword’s branching job advancement systems as is since all her classes have offensive mode and support mode in Grand Chase!) shield, (Why not? Glitters use their shields as weapons.)
And on the magic/elemental side, there are little to no water, earth, nature/poison, and light based skills. (ZERO light skills at that.)

Successfully convincing Neople to agree to this surely took more thought than Rule 63 Elbrat that’s actually manlier than all the actual male characters combined, Rule 63 edgelord Eve, and copying Zero (Maple Story)’s gimmick to make a Raven/Chung hybrid knockoff. All using recycled versions of already existing skills and having little to no original skills or concepts of their own.
…..But the gameplay implications of Rose are going to be just as lazy and uninspired as the three most recent “new” characters + Asura. (Admit it. All they did was copypaste a bunch of random shit, some just recolored yellow, and slap it onto Ara.) In the trailer, she does after all, use attacks similar to those already in the game. (Chung’s dual pistols + siege weaponry, Eve’s machine guns, etc.)

Long-ranged characters aren’t even perfect. Rena, Aisha, and Add can’t even attack above themselves without skills. Chung kind of can, but… yeah.
Plus the way you worded it made it seem like Ciel was designed to use a cannon like Chung. I know they both are, in a sense, gunners, but they’re DIFFERENT KINDS of gunners.
is not an FPS, is hack-and-slash beat-em-all MMORPG with some bit of a fighting game, we all agree on that yes, there wouldn’t be a problem with ranged if they didn’t kind of make an unfair match against melee characters making them repeat the same catching strategy until they are completely readable; but aside from that: if it has bits of a fighting game… where in the world is the goddamned brawler/fighter? DFO had one… couldn’t KOG ask for that one instead of letting neople pick for them? couldn’t KOG make their OWN character instead of looking for MORE “easy money”?

A thought just occured to me:
Has KOG given ANY thought to the non-KR versions?
In the KR versions a few years back, there was a DFO, MS, and Mabinogi collaboration event where all three games got characters from the others as NPCs, cash shop outfits, and other goodies.
For the NA versions, they cut out DFO. Because Nexon NA no longer had publishing rights to DFO.
…..And Elsword and DFO are only both Nexon games in KR. In every other country, they have seperate publishers.
So, what? Did KOG strike a deal to use the female Gunner in all versions in the game? Or are we going to see a KR only character?

Hell, the fact that most of the foreign reactions I’ve seen of Rose is more of “Oh hey, she’s like a girl Rufus/Chung” and “Ooh, it’s Saber with guns!” than “What the hell, she’s from another game!?” pretty much says a lot.

I’m kinda bummed out that the video only showed off her weapons rather than actual possible combos. After Ara, Add, and Lu/Ciel I feel kinda bored with the coming of new characters. I was excited for the renewal when they fixed Rena being unable to launch and gave Rune Slayer some really epic combos, but almost all the characters got the same attacks. I want a character that will be fun to play as, not one that will get me to star rank in a day. -_-
I want more endgame content for my already picked, maxed, geared and mastered character and not making a new one every year

How many people level their alts and get them to the same level as their main? Can count those people on my fingers even with half of NA’s playerbase. The people who decide to not explore new things are the people who are incapable. And I put my hat off to you, you’re going to need a lot of damn luck on any other game you play that says “free to play.” Because the models are nearly the same.
Anyway, kudos to my two favorite MMOs out for the collab. Desperate games don’t put out budget for things like these, that’s just the salt of people who have already quit/ given up on the game. No surprise there.

I think of all the comments I read, this was the most positive out of all of them. And as usual it’s the same faces that have a problem of something that is very minimal.
Now I’m not agreeing that the collaboration was a good idea nor bad idea but it was quite random for them to pick this out. One fun thing they could do is just limit the creation of the character for a certain amount of time like how MS does it. To those who got pissed off and stopped playing, why don’t you just leave? You guys seem to still hold some amount of interest for this game with the amount of baseless comments and theorycrafting here whenever there are new updates.

wait four paths? 4 guns? maybe i am overthinking it but what if path is a typo and her first class path focuses on two diffrent weapons and in c1 part 1 she uses 1 tpye and then she class changes into another type. it would mean that her 4 paths would be the same as her number of guns. it would be different than any of the other classes that focus mostly on one aspect of the character. gatling into railgun maybe?

Uh…………… Ciel isn’t a Chung copy. Yes they both use projectiles, but Chung uses a heavy cannon as his main weapon and only gains his silver shooters in a single route while Ciel uses gunblades as his main weapon and only gains a cannon in one route, and that cannon doesn’t even work the same way as Chung’s.
Amazing, main weapons recycled into sub weapons. This game has alot of creative ideas and can really think outside the box here. (SARCASM PLZ)

also game is somehow turning into a ”ALL FEMALE” characters, right now theres more female and less male characters for the character creation. is KIM planing to get more female characters for the game, really if it thats the case, then all the character should have been female (example: scarlet blade). gg , get some good ideas for the game, or shut it down.

I actually find it more funny how Add players in the NA server actually TRIES to be the character itself. It looks really stupid and it shows that they clearly have nothing better to do.
It is actually a nah….. well yeah players tend to spam because it is very easy to do with those characters and yes they have many different combo but is it efficient enough for them to win??? And all characters can actually spam…. But, why the heck do they need to put a character with a nearly unstoppable spam?? well to gain more players and for their players to stick in the game because those characters have the capability to win against other characters with ease…… And you can never ever prevent or stop people like them, so the perfect way to decrease those players is to have a game and characters that are perfectly balanced in all things…..

Fuck, Lu’s even using Rena’s old model as a base, and as Nobblesse she steals base Aisha’s stage start laugh animation. They can’t come up with ANYTHING new anymore.
Exactly….. and they just put a new unique ability or skill to that character (very very unique and unbalance) to distinguish them from others……
This is why Grand Chase died…….. You made a character which is something new and is very unique unlike the very first characters which is left behind, of course that is somewhat unfair for the other characters… You should stay from the usual character game play style not a new one… starting from Ara, with her very long ranged spear.. Add, that uses dp and vacuum thingy, LuCiel which is a two character and now that Rose which has a 4 job path….. Oh c’mon you’re too much desperate to make people stay, please try to empathize a bit more if you are the player….. People always find the strongest character in a game and they will use it to win against any character thus making all people go for that character which will make the game more boring and very unbalaced. If you make a character its abilities, skills, and gameplay should always be fair for other characters too.
Just in my opinion this is why a game always END because it gradually becomes an unbalanced game… Just stating my opinion.
Another thing you can also try to make a contest for character making.. all people love to show and share their own ideas. It will actually gain some players ( I think) and make people think that you are considering your players and giving them freedom and opportunity to make the game better, unless you are really just a gold digger who just love to make money, money, money, and nothing more..
If only Kill3rCombo was still here. Back then, they knew what they were doing. They knew how to make the game enjoyable. But, ever since KOG came into the picture…they screwed up EVERYTHING.
The way I see it….KOG won’t last another 2 years. I cant wait for CloserS to come to NA. I swear if KOG gets their hands on NA CloserS, I’m going with my RF to use “Nuclear” on their building.
I’m positive Naddic will self-host the game, since Nexon NA doesn’t seem interested in bringing any new games over anytime soon. (Besides Maple Story 2. We’re going to see the NA version in at least CBT by the end of the year.)
But one thing you can absolutely be sure of is that Naddic will NOT do any dealings with KOG. They’re the ones that worked at KOG, worked on Elsword, and fled. They knew how KOG was going to ruin the game long before any of us did and wanted no part of it. They will NOT let KOG ruin their game a second time.

So basically… Elsword is dying because of it’s broken balance? The PvP part of it. That. And the fact they do not ( they being KOG) listen to the players. They do not listen to feedback. I could name some INDIE Companies that do that. While it seems that big coporate brand companies act like they know how to do things. Do they not understand that the Players are the reason why they make the money they make? Or do they not understand how to put Work into it? Seeing as many consider their “balances” half assed. Do they not have flexability? They could change their plans, and work on the problems that have made it so toxic, yet they dont try. Granted, its most likely alot of work, but does that really matter? If they can make an Anime of the damn thing, Why dont they actually use the assets they HAVE to work on the bigger problems instead of presenting new things? I mean… You would think they would have learned that by now. They are only human, but they could easily have thought of something like that. Whether it dies, or not, They’ll learn it the hard way. (P.S. doing this on a phone which is very hard to see the words. X.x) Thus, concludes my rant, or whatever you want to call it. The Customer(s) IS(ARE) Always Right.
