Worst Elsword offline event ever

Heros Tournament is the most popular Elsword offline event that’s  held yearly in Korea. This year’s tournament was held on November 28th.

First of many troubles to come struck during the 1st match. A player was disconnected during the match. So the MC had to buy time holding improvised minigames by calling people out from the crowds and hold prize draws. But when it seemed like they had fixed the issue and tried to start up the first match again, another disconnection occurred. This made the tournament staff go into another on-site maintenance and left the MC trying to buy time again for over an hour.

Finally after an hour of MC’s improvised minigames, they had an another attempt at starting the first match. First and second match managed to finish without a problem this time. But the trouble occurred again during the 3rd/4th place match, this time one of the players’ keyboard had malfunctioned.

So…. another hour of improvised minigames later they tried to get the 3rd/4th place match going again but….. what do you know, it ended in player disconnecting again.

Way behind schedule, the staff ended up showing the new character reveal early. This ridiculous farce of an offline event had already tested the patience of Elsword users both at the site and those watching from the livestream. The state of Elsword balance was already bad and they got worse after the character renewals. But KOG showed no intention cleaning up after the character renewals and was now releasing a new character when they had clearly said “we have no plans for new character” during the Chemi food party event they held earlier this year.

Seeing the new character reveal, patience of Elsword users ran out and all their pent up rage exploded. You could see multiple angry people leaving the event right there.

<New Character Rose + Crowd reaction>

For Elsword users that were faced with broken balance caused by the aftermath of late 2014 Raid Hack incident, Character Renewals and the Stat Maximization patch. They were in no state to want a new character.

Quite a large amount of Elsword users are negative about this update reveal with the reasons summed up by this post.(Which I translated the key points)

  • Release timing is horrible. Elsword isn’t in a state to add a new character. To make things worse, it’s not even an Elsword original character but a DFO collaboration Ctrl+c/Ctrl+v character.
  • Even if new character comes out there’s nothing to do in the game.
  • Overlapping character concepts: Pistol(DC), Artillery(TT), Mech(CEM), Spitfire(VC)
  • In next 5~6 months nerds(players) will be playing Rose anyways. KOG knows this. This reveal is just them saying “Here play some busty female character and forget about game’s current problems.”
  • The new character isn’t even related to Elsword. Why Dungeon Fighter Online? If they had wanted a dual gun wielder they could have chosen from Grand Chase.
  • ^Actually even Grand Chase character Elesis coming to Elsword and acting like the true main character is distasteful. Now we have to see a character from completely unrelated universe come in and run amok.
  • If they had brought a GC character it could have been more acceptable as “GC memorial” since its closing on 12/31/2015. Adding a DFO character was very random and off place.
  • ^Then why did they not bring a character from GC and instead brought a DFO character? There’s no players to attract from GC.
  • ^KOG’s intentions: “We’re losing players so we can just bring DFO players. If we bring a pretty and popular Female gunner from DFO we can shut those nerds(players) up and reel in DFO players at the same time. 2 birds with one stone.”
  •  ^How KOG views its players: Players = Customer that gives money  = Machine that give money
  • Rose as a character isn’t as much of a problem with most players except those angry with overlapping concepts.  It’s her release time and the intention behind her release that’s the issue.
  •  What players are mad at is not the new character. They are mad at KOG releasing a new character not as a apology of their faulty management but as to use it as a coverup knowing fully well that nerds(players) will be all over pretty&popular female character.

In the end, the 3rd/4th place match and the final match was postponed to further date. So poor Elsword users that went to watch the offline event had to watch improvised show for almost 4 hours and no PvP tournament they came to watch.

“Listen up. You get betrayed because you’re expecting something. You won’t get betrayed if you don’t expect anything in the first place.”

-Trainer, CLOSERS Online, in TOP 3 NEXON Game quotes.

Except in this case players didn’t expect anything and still got betrayed

I noticed the matches were experiencing heavy delay times in between them with massive amounts of filler stuff I didn’t give a care in the world enough to see (also I don’t understand Korean). I couldn’t see the left team’s HP bars and the matches felt like they were recorded on a toaster.

I would be pissed too trying to see a tournament but getting nothing of it for over 3 hours. They’re trying pretty hard to balance the game from their previous patches, but they also undo their balance patches by adding in newer things to help said characters (balancing for Pre-season leading into socket changes buffing characters for PvE even though they had to be toned down immediately beforehand).

They need to sit down and stop with the content updates before this gets serious. It feels like right now they’re running on a schedule to see what gets in, not what actually positively affects the game.

  • Unknown says:

KOG just keep self-destructing themselves. Now it’s just the matter of time before they completely destroy themselves.

    • Endgame says:

It’s been clear for all to see that KOG is self-destructing for some time now. And we all really should have paid more attention to the fact that the original core development team left KOG to make their own game.

…..Which makes it questionable why Nexon would even host Aima, KOG’s fourth game. Nexon cares more about the bottom line since they provide servers for plenty of games. They should be aware of how Fighters Club outright crashed and burned and how KOG abandoned Grand Chase. Maybe after seeing this they’ll reconsider their dealings with KOG.

I’d like to believe this is the beginning of the end, but we’ve seen KOG bounce back from the ST Revamp which also had the Koreans up in arms…..

  • MaxiDuonium says:

KOG: Let’s put DFO char in the game. Let the rage begin!
Players: WTF are you doing, KOG? We don’t want new char. We want the balance of the game and not new char!
    KOG: We don’t care.
    Players: ……Fuck you..

(Elsword losing players is normal because KOG is doing self-destruction. It’s no wonder why. Though i want to at least see what the new char can do, by ripping of F.Gunner entire skills set)

    • Endgame says:

The sad part is, they just wasted the entire Summer revamping characters. So KOG DID listen to their pleas for rebalancing.

…..The fact that only Code Nemesis had a position change just shows that KOG are shit tier developers who had lightning in a bottle with the original team. (Unfortunately, KR Closers has done no real damage to KR Elsword. I bet NA Closers would do a lot of damage to NA Elsword though…..)

      • MaxiDuonium says:

I can see that happening to Elsword NA due to Closers NA.
So after giving some thought of this entire thing of KOG being a shit-tier developer, i think i want them to at least to fix things up with the players or else the game will be real dead of a year or within 4-5 months if they don’t do something about this.

(i still play even though i know how much bullcraps are in the game )

        • Flare Kyn says:

Maybe if players actually told KoG what problems they had with their games they might have fixed them.

Heck, we might not have lost Grand Chase if they did that.

          • UNub says:

Grand Chase died because Brazil was their main playerbase. They had more fun experiencing new characters and newer areas than they did for any revamps. APs were the equivalent of Add PvP-wise, except much better in PvE than Add *cough*.

And may I just say Grand Chase stopped getting marketed for over an entire year as compared to Elsword which received numerous ads in that time? Events were crap, the game demanded so much money for low gain, special costumes were a guaranteed $200+ spend, etc. The game had problems gaining money from their publishing ends, so you can actually thank the individuals managing each country’s specific version of GC. Fickle system, isn’t it?

Nexon failed for DFO before, I wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow killed Elsword by pushing controversial updates (hint: that’s how DFO died). If KOG really wants to make it out of this, they need to tell Nexon to hold off. Like “get off my ass Nexon” kind of stuff, cause they’re straight raping the game.

          • Flare Kyn says:

Come to think of it, you’re right. Nexon pretty much has Elsword KR, and aside from events and translations, everything we in NA get is exactly the same as what KR gets. Maybe if KoG actually had more time instead of being rushed by them, we wouldn’t have any stupidly OP characters.

Actually, maybe they should disconnect themselves from Nexon entirely.

      • dudelove says:

CN only had a tier change bc she went from shit tier to “not so shit” tier. They nerfed many of her changes so it might not be long before shes back in players closets collecting dust.

  • bbbb says:

hey look, things that point to a unstable game.

looks like i owe endgame an apology, i guess

    • UNub says:

The game’s certainly unstable, but it’s mostly due to rushing and lack of transitions. I don’t know why KOG is trying to rush all of this stuff, it puts a lot of stress onto players.

From my experience, most companies rush things out like this because the publisher (in this case Nexon) pays for the updates and thus asks for things in a set amount of time. The anime among other things just gives more incentive for Nexon to ask for content, or the dreaded “your activities in the game impact the anime” bs gaming has seen before. I sincerely hope Nexon doesn’t kill off this game from rushing KOG too much.

But as contracts go, KOG also has at least SOME say in what goes on. I’m pretty sure some of the devs must be pulling out their hair right now because of not only this catastrophe but the outcry of the players after the socket changes. I highly doubt they’ll be able to make clear, thought out decisions while this chaos is going on without a good team lead in KOG however (expect people to get fired in the next 2 months).

  • Rokujou says:

So, (just looking for clarification), this is 2na’s rant, right? Or is this a translation of someone else’s rant?

  • Flare Kyn says:

Just because they said they had no plans BACK THEN doesn’t mean it wasn’t going to happen eventually.

  • some1 is more annoying than Endgame says:

“For Elsword users that were faced with broken balance caused by the aftermath of late 2014 Raid Hack incident, Character Renewals and the Stat Maximization patch. They were in no state to want a new character.”

You mean Raid Hack incident caused economics issue, not the pvp balance bc I don’t think it relates to char balance.

  • Endgame says:

It’s the ST Revamp backlash all over again!

Good. Good on you South Korea. Now just don’t fall for the free stuff giveaway like you did after the ST Revamp and put KOG out of their misery already.

  • Steamed says:

I wouldn’t blame the people who said that they don’t want a new character. This is ridiculous behavior from a company who can’t manage the game properly.

  • thatguy says:

and the funniest part ppl while asking for ninja , rogues , and other weapon types kog goes nope lets get the most played character in dnf

  • Qrow says:

Welp, I guess the people saying Elsword is definitely dead were right the whole time. I didn’t care too much about the obsessing on the newest characters (specially Elesis), the broken PVP (I saw it as I challenge myself) or the pay-to-win policy (ditto), but this… Sometimes you need to understand that it’s time to move on.
    So… Is Closers any good?

    • Flare Kyn says:

Pay to win? What? This isn’t a lock-on-and-use-skills MMO, you have to actually HIT your enemy! And most attacks cause hitstun! How is that pay to win?!

      • L says:

Pay to win doesn’t mean to lock on and use skills. The concept of pay2win revolves around something else. Not the urban dictionary definition of simply being the best because you paid for it. But rather, the power creep and the leaping above the power curve because of the usage of money. These can be pay walls such as the lack of skill slot B. Or in another game, it could be not being able to play the game without dying or losing an extensive amount of effort for no reason. Think Ark Survival Evolved, but in a mmo. Having your base destroyed sucks, but what if people can pay to get their bases fixed back to before it was destroyed. The issue with stuff that involves p2w is that it can have a drastic effect on the power curve.

Let’s talk about Hearthstone. Extra Credits has a video on the reason why thinking about how your develop your game is a good idea.

Oh and Flare, the p2w policy means that there is a policy to include p2w. Not exactly difficult, right? This is an f2p morpg. The way it makes its money is via micro transactions. The p2w policy simply means that they need to give players a reason to spend money instead of playing without spending. This policy revolves around the use of getting advantages or something “better” than the average f2p player. This would be easier to understand if we just thought of it as pay for convenience or pay to get ahead.

        • SkimmedMilk says:

I got my slot b through an event quest, its free and perm. :^)

          • nunk1sa says:

            @SkimmedMilk go get +11 without spending cash… :^)

          • Flare Kyn says:

I personally think +11 is overrated.

I could beat an S-Rank Crimson Avenger using only +7s with my DiE.

          • LeCaster says:

Flare Kyn – by “S-Rank” do you mean star rank? because otherwise, beating a S rank using +7s doesn’t have any merit, when even at SS rank there’s lots of people still using sparring gear. If you’re talking about an actual star rank, then either that CrA was deranking for some reason or just fooling around with subpar gear, because a +11 (even a +10 or +9 depending on the character and build) can destroy regular +7 players in one or two skills.

          • Flare Kyn says:

Really? You’re questioning me about that?

Okay, how about this. I beat an S-Rank Crimson Avenger with INFINITY SWORD! And his only +7 equip was his sword. Hit shirt and pants were +6 and gloves and shoes were +5, and they were all Abso gear and he was level 70 at the time.

        • Yik46d says:

I don’t want to sound like an asshole but, B slot and magic necklace are the least pay to win items since they gave those away several times in different events. You can’t even buy sage stones. Unless you mean like getting fashion which barely provides an advantage.

          • L says:

Of course they give them away. It’s just having that restriction is considered a paywall. It’s a hard concept to think about. Most will just use cosmetics as a point and say a game is not p2w or uses a lot of stuff that can potentially increase the power curve.

          • Flare Kyn says:

I personally don’t like Sage’s Stones. They only give one stat, and it’s completely random.

I prefer dual stones, which give multiple stats and you know what stats they are BEFORE you use them.

        • Flare Kyn says:

I’ve never played Ark Survival Evolved.

So you can buy EXP medals. So what? I can trade three Evil Souls Orbs for an EXP medal as well.

Costumes may help a bit with stats, but let’s be honest here. It’s completely possible for someone wearing nothing to beat someone wearing full Ice Burners and Endgame equipment.

B-Slots, they have events that give them out, plus they’re now tradable. And the quick slots only help in PvE, and I do just fine without buying them anyway.

          Was there anything I missed?

          • L says:

The point I was making is that micro transactions or pay walls can have undesired effects. If they never gave us ways to obtain stuff in game without spending, the game would feel much more punishing than it is at the moment.

In my opinion, I feel like there could be other ways for them to monetize. Something that wouldn’t affect the power curve or feel like its a pay wall they either make you pay or wait until they give them out.

In short, my comments up to now is about understanding what may be considered p2w or as changing the power curve of the game.

When I played this game, it felt more enjoyable to not spend and as you have said above, there are alternatives. However, that is not a good thing for the developers who need the money to keep their game going. In my opinion, spending money wasn’t as rewarding or as satisfying as I hoped it would be. When I saw how it was being managed, I felt that I never had to begrudgingly pay at the least.

    • Endgame says:

Closers is great. Non-grindy EXP tables, a proper endgame area, enemies can actually kill you, EVERYTHING (including costumes) can be purchased from the market and not just the cash shop, etc.

1v1 PVP’s peer2peer and unbalanced though. (Yuri is Queen.) But that’s to be expected as the game was designed around PVE first and they JUST added PVP. Still less of a clusterfuck than Elesis vs Add Online…..

  • Malle says:

Yeah people just walked out on the stream….I’m just like woah

  • Nask says:

KOG can just sell the game to another developer. I don’t see the justice of maintaining the game at this point.

  • Nemo says:

Right, Rose, what can I say that hasn’t been said before. I mean new characters/classes are usually the best part of MMOs. I can’t say I hate her for being a crossover character but then again I don’t play DFO so as far as I care she’s original. I just find it in poor taste to release another gun wielding character right after Ciel/Lu. I also find it in poor taste that KoG is breaking their own class structure just bend to DFO’s class progression. Then you throw on the fact that one of them will only be able for a limited time after release… I worry about this game, not the developers, the game its self.
As for the event… KoG done goofed, likely lost a good part of their player base, and I would find it humorous if the company behind DFO pulled out of the deal after this… Though KoG would likely just rebrand the character after that point.

    • Nova says:

I’m still hesitant to believe that getting FGunner in Elsword was entirely KoG’s doing, since she’s in Nexon’s other games, too. Unless those happened years ago. Doesn’t mean that KoG isn’t at fault, though.

      • Endgame says:

KR Elsword pulls all kinds of shenanegans that other Nexon KR games simply do not do. (B Slot for instance. Closers does it too, but it also gives you 18 hotkey slots to use as you see fit to begin with. You likely won’t even use them all. And I don’t think I need to explain how KR Elsword’s Summer and Winter events are so much more generous than everyone else’s.) And we’ve seen the shitty business practices they pull in NA where they have absolute control and no one to tell them what they can’t do. So ultimate responsibility for EVERYTHING that’s gone on lies within KOG.

Considering other Nexon KR games have collaborated with DFO (Maple Story and Mabinogi) and have come out with much less, I’m pretty sure getting a playable character from a much more popular game as their own permanent new character, complete with KOG themselves going against their own character setups (Only one weapon type, three job paths each) to accomodate her, was all KOG’s idea.

If Nexon is forcing them to do it to try to restore waning interest, then why aren’t they trying to restore Closers to release window hype levels by making Naddic have collaborations with more successful games? Why is Elsword being singled out?

It only makes sense if KOG is the one who initiated this deal.

        • Flare Kyn says:

Uh, what? Okay, no. Raven was technically the first to have more than one weapon, his sword and his Nasod arm. Only his sword is an equipable item, though. Then Chung gets hand pistols as Shooting Guardian/Deadly Chaser, meaning he ALSO has more than one weapon type. Then Rena gets Trapping Ranger/Night Watcher, WHICH GIVES HER A SWORD! Then Ciel gets a cannon as Royal Guard and throwing knives as Dreadlord, while Lu gets a Soul Spear as Noblesse and Javalins as Chiliarch.

          IT’S NOTHING NEW!!!

Rose will probably have her revolvers be her main weapon, and the other weapons will be sub-weapons she obtains from job change.

          • Flare Kyn says:

Also, did you forget that third paths weren’t even a thing until sometime after CHUNG was released? This is NOT the first time that they’ve changed how many paths characters will have. Yes, it’s the first time that a new character will have more paths than all of the ones before it, but it’s possible that all the other characters will get fourth paths as well.

          • Nemo says:

Okay, weapons in Elsword, where to start. You’re right in saying that characters only have one “character weapon” and that Rose’s will likely be dual revolvers. You’re also right in saying that “class/sub weapons” have been around since base Raven. It is nothing new but that’s not the part people are confused over. The trailer show like what…seven weapons? Okay, we haven’t had a character with that much fire power up their ass since Code Nemesis. So that brings up the question of if they’re all just actives or modes that can be switched between. By that I mean something like switching between Lu/Ciel and having different Z/X attack trees.
Plus, and this is just a guess, that all these weapons/skill are all part of her base class judging by them all being used by the same model. This is likely false because they likely have her classes done with how close the release is and just wanted to show off her…F.Gunner-ness or something. That and I kind of really hope that KoG wouldn’t be stupid enough to dump so much onto what could be someone’s first character.
As for third paths, yes I know they didn’t start becoming a thing till Chung was released. I just highly doubt that fourth paths will become a new common given that the fourth path will only be available for a limited time after launch. If anything I’m expected three classes per path to become a thing given how big the gap between the level cap and last character landmark is becoming. By landmark I mean the Hyper Active given that’s the apparent display of a class’s ultimate power. Here’s to KoG getting their head of straight before then

          • Nemo says:

By the end of it, we’re all just yelling out speculations over something we have little more then a trailer that shows little in its self to go off of. Anything else is just some personal hopes or spite we’re just using this as an excuse to throw out.

          • Endgame says:

Rose having four weapons and class paths was confirmed at the reveal. The details are on the article about Rose herself. And if you watch the stream, they even show her four weapons.

          • Nova says:

Rose WILL be using dual revolvers as her main weapon. The sub weapons she uses are skills, with the gatling gun and flamethrower at base class. In fact, the job changes will determine how many more subweapons she’ll get.

Ranger will be more main weapon-centric because gun-fu class.
Launcher will focus on the heavy weapons, which means a laser bazooka, anti-tank rifle, and a bigger flamethrower, among others. All of which, she pulls out of her ass. She’ll get so many subweapons, it’ll make Code Nemesis’ weapons look basic.
Mechanic will focus on robotic summons. Robotic helpers and a super that involves assembling a freaking Gundam midbattle. Call her Code Empress 2.0.
Spitfire will involve grenade-spamming, buffs via elemental bullets, and stuff like calling in snipers to blow enemy heads for you and flying around in a jumpjet pack.

It’s how it was in DFO, it’s how it will be here.

And now when I think about it, Eve’s in as much danger of being obsolete as Chung.

          • Nova says:

“By the end of it, we’re all just yelling out speculations over something we have little more then a trailer that shows little in its self to go off of.”

There’s nothing to speculate. If you know your DFO, base Rose will already have the gatling gun and the flamethrower as her base skills. Depending on which job you pick, she’ll actually gain MORE weapons.

Ranger: blades and chain on her dual pistols so she gets gun-chucks
Launcher: a laser cannon and an even bigger flamethrower, just to name a few
Mechanic: fixed turrets, robot buddies and a freaking GUNDAM
Spitfire: a jetpack, elemental grenades, different elemental ammunition, and a sniper buddy

It’s like that in DFO, it’ll be like this here.

Also now that I think about it, Eve should be just as afraid as Chung, because Spitfire can emulate her mobility AND do a possibly better job nuking and supporting thanks to her grenades, Launcher has bigger guns than Code Nemesis and Mechanic gets something that Code Empress doesn’t: A GIANT ROBOT.

          • Malle says:

NONE of you play DFO. First off the ONLY way they could fuck this up if they literally copied/paste Rose’s exact movements from DFO to Elsword because as far as flose combat goes in DFO, her pistols are mid-range but have a fast firing but has low defense and high attack. On top of that she’s slow with melee and is not really good. Rose will get crushed in Elsword. You’ll see.

          • Nova says:

          • Flare Kyn says:

Crap. I didn’t realize the comments were down. Sorry.

          • Malle says:

I think they are going to split up her abilities. SO I think she’ll be able to use her Gatling gun and flame thrower as a base bust the paths she job changes into will most likely be utilizing one or the other rather than her gaining more abilities like in DFO where she was able to completely OP out her weapons. I know KoG fucks up on her classes but I don’t see them fucking up THAT badly.

“I think they are going to split up her abilities. SO I think she’ll be able to use her Gatling gun and flame thrower as a base bust the paths she job changes into will most likely be utilizing one or the other rather than her gaining more abilities like in DFO where she was able to completely OP out her weapons. I know KoG fucks up on her classes but I don’t see them fucking up THAT badly.”

You are aware that FGunner only has one attack where she uses her subweapon for an attack that isn’t point and shoot, and that it’s a base job attack, right? Hell, the whole point of Launcher was that she could pull any weapon out of her ass and blast the enemy with it. Said class even gets a BIGGER flamethrower. One that goes through the entire screen. I don’t have much faith on what they have in mind for Rose when they “Elsword-ize” her because a lot of her attacks would likely be hilariously broken if they’re put in Elsword’s game engine.

That said, I reviewed her PV. She may indeed be slightly revised for Elsword, because she uses a lot of other weapons in what would be different equippable weapons for her in DFO(namely the Cannon, Musket and Autoguns). I say slightly because they’ll just be actives while she still keeps the rest of her moveset. Her whole skill set might also be small, as her base class skill list in DFO is already longer than a typical base class in Elsword, but they can just move those skills around to make them thematically appropriate(her kicks will go to Ranger, her grenades will go to Spitfire, etc.).

So comments are back up, huh? You know shit’s hit the fan when a fansite had to temporarily disable comments over backlash. So anyway…..

Holy shit, I just got around to watching the stream of the event. (Well, parts of it.) You can really tell the audience was pissed.

If you watch the earlier parts before the matches started screwing up, you can see the audience is excited. Even after some of the match cancelations and the MC distracts with calling up cosplayers to the stage, there’s still a level of excitement.

But at around 3 hours 12 minutes, the reveal happens. There are no cheers from the audience. The shot of the audience right afterwards shows they are not pleased.

Sure, it’s one thing to read about it being a major PR disaster for KOG, but to actually see it, to see the people who are devoted enough fans to show up to the event, cosplaying as the characters even, have zero enthusiam for the new character when she’s revealed…..

Good news KR players, another Jump! event is happening~! You all ready for your free level 80 characters?

    • Flare Kyn says:

Huh, I thought I somehow got banned ’cause I replied “**** you” to one of your comments.

      • L says:

I think disabling comments may be the only way 2nafish can address the situation. It might be in everyone’s best interest to have it disabled for the time being until the commotion dies down. Otherwise, we will just have venom spewing all over the place.

    • Malle says:

LoL Endgame. I’m dead. And what’s fucked up is you’re probably right. What they should do is give out a free IB of their choice AND a jump event. I would forgive them after that.

It’s kind of funny, as someone who isn’t a hardcore Elsword player anymore, I’m excited for the new character because DFO is my favorite game. But even I can see that all of this is just EXTREMELY distasteful. It’s ironic, they’re caring more about the DFO community with this character than they’ve cared about the Elsword community in at LEAST the last year.

  • Me345now says:

What I really miss is the innovation.
when I started this game, I loved to see so much new things, a world full of new ideas etc. Then, Elesis came. A character of Grand chase. and then I saw more and more things that were there already. Now we get a character that is alraedy done.
WHY THE HELL??? Where are the ideas gone? Where are the new things? Where is the world of Elsword gone??

If you want to do this sh*t and take characters of other games, then do another game which is an crossover game… But do not destroy the world of elsword any further x.x

    • Endgame says:

This is a good question. It’s well known that the original team/Naddic left after Velder, but Chung and Ara (LH/SD and LD/YR after a few buff updates at least. Asura is pure recycled trash. And as much as I enjoy them, I don’t think Ara showing off her breasts like that suits her innocent personality.) were well done. Granted, Chung’s base job had heavy recycling from Elbrat’s base job. (Brutal Swing = Mega Slash, Detonation = Assault Slash, Lunatic Blow = Fatal Fury, etc.)

And Hamel wasn’t that bad aside from Magmanta and Avalanche’s moments of being unreachable/invincible that only serve to drag out the battle, and Ran being a high HP punching bag that hits like a wet noodle. (Only really a threat in Henrir when both twins were up and you were the only one left. Stupid screen freeze attacks.)

Even the Transform classes were fairly well done. Granted, Night Watcher was trash until the ST Revamp. The Code Nemesis before CN was CN, if you will. I mean, even when DC and TT both focused on blasting the hell out of everything with missles, although Dread Chase was basically 200 MP Shooting Star, there was a distinction in the style of their missle skills: DC’s were centered around tactical strikes on specific targeted areas. TT’s were aimed around more widespread destruction.

The game turning to shit wasn’t immediate. It took time. But there were some good ideas implemented before the constant stream of bad ideas that started with the Field Update.

What happened after that? I cannot say, but Elesis was definitely the worst thing to happen to the game. She represents everything that’s gone wrong. Namely how she taught KOG that they can get away with blatant recycling instead of actual new characters.

…..The sad thing? Even Elesis could have actually brought something new to Elsword, IF they used Savior as her base instead of making her Elbrat 10.0. (Because that’s how much better she is than him.)

The even sadder part? There’s plenty of other characters they could have copypasted from Grand Chase that would have brought something new to the table. Namely Ryan, Amy, Jin, and Lime.

      • Flare Kyn says:

Elesis is NOT that much better than Elboy! I listed a TON of Elesis skills that Elboy does better, but you ignored ALL of them because of Mega Slash. JUST MEGA SLASH! And your excuse was that it didn’t knock down?! HOW DO YOU THINK KNOCKDOWN WORKS IN THIS GAME?!

Besides, Blazing Heart is LESS like Rune Slayer than HALF of how Grand Master is like Lord Knight, and Crimson Avenger is less like Infinity Sword than Blazing Heart is to Rune Slayer! And Grand Knight being like Lord Knight ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE STORY-WISE! BOTH GRAND MASTER AND LORD KNIGHT WERE FORMERLY TRAINED! And as for Free Knight’s combos, well, WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?! SHE’S THE ONE WHO TAUGHT HER LITTLE BRO HOW TO FIGHT, AND WE KNEW THAT LOOOOOOOOONG BEFORE SHE WAS EVEN RELEASED!

Plus, she’s not even a copy-paste from Grand Chase! Yes, the two have the same name and red hair and red eyes, and they both use swords, BUT BARELY ANYTHING PAST THAT GOT INTO ELSWORD’S VERSION OF ELESIS! Grand Chase’s Elesis never specialized in magic, nor did she use dark energy! Yes, I know she had some magic skills, but that was NEVER the basic concept!

Someone PLEASE tell this moron to shut up!

      • Silver Havoc says:

You forgot Asin (Elsword already has too much fire, sorry Jin)

    • Malle says:

We should just wipe out the Ara through Luciel classes since ara started this broken Bullshit and Luciel is now the face of broken. Then KoG should actually complete Eve and Raven and turn them into what they were supposed to be…NOT GOD DAMN TRASH! (Not like broken but they were shoved under the bus).

Elsword….I have to say leave him alone. RS I would recommend his >>^zx back-dash be erased

Rena- I have to say that I never understood the mana charge. It was so useless. A lot of her PvP skills require low MP you can obtain just by kicking your enemy 4 times like WDF. And someone shoot the fucker who thought about Arellina. GA as she is now is decent I guess, sorta OP but she’s a true archer so idm. NW, she’s fine, she’s only OP if she can stack her traps correctly.

Aisha- There are so many things wrong with her. As you can see, EM can apparently either KO or eliminate 75-80% of your HP bar with 1 meteor shower. On top of that Magic Missile is more annoying than guide arrow and can be memorized and if I’m not mistaken has a low MP cost. Speaking of. Erase Memorize. Imma stop before I get personal. You get my point tho. VP- I seriously dont have a problem with her but I hear people don’t like her. IDK why so I cannot comment. DW- I swear to fucking god if you don’t give this bitch low MP cost….I swear I feel sorry for every DW. High MP cost, mid damage, basic MP gain, no combos, left to spam dimension orbs and still they survive. v_v Anyways…

Raven- OK so raven is an incomplete character. BM- All BM’s I see are actually decent, but I don’t play BM anymore. However, when I did I always found myself cherishing the MP I have because Raven relies on his low MP skills and quick and easy combos that actually last a while if you got the X-Drop down. But it’s not solid. Think about how BM has to socket, what do you think you are going to socket as a BM when your in a game where the monster trio appears in arena every 2 matches. You gonna socket Red. Damage or are you gonna socket Speed or Add. damage? RF- He’s fine I think, he has a low fan base but I think it’s because no one fully understands how he works cause he’s my fave of the ravens. VC-TANK and he got a lot of utilities copied/pasted from him to the other ravens so all I ask is if you give him back his uniqueness.

Eve- Huh….Nemesis, mechanics are fine, but it’s the damage. Ok now there are those players who always are expetions to the rule. (Pay-to win or people who geared correctly). But in general, I feel more pain for CN than I do for DW. She has a decent MP cost but the damage. Just give her SOME damage. Not aot just a little. Amen. CeM- I swear to god I hate this bitch. OH! I hate that bitch. Meat shields or naw? I understand that some of her skills are high MP and she’s forced to..um…improvise. But I want to have a 1v1 not a 1v4. v_v Can someone please make it to where she can only summon 2 at a time. CBS- I think I hate her the most. “She doesn’t have combos. she needs damage and more MP” WHAT THE FUCK! If anyone watches Vaffle, she straight said she needed combos. LoL. I swear when I hear CBS I see add spam. Erase her core because she abuses it, keep the damage KR gave her and she can keep her current MP skills idc about those, she still gonna spam but lets just make it easier on everyone.

Chung- I think IP is doing fine. He’s a tank, tanks need high defense, mid damage and can support others. DC-Poor kid, cant save Hamel when you don’t do damage. Ofc there are those excpetions to every rule but, lets be real.

But that’s it. Erase Ara since she started that OP bullshit. Erase Elesis, she doesn’t belong in this game. Her game died a year ago. Add- He already getting hated on even though I can think of 4 other classes that rek him so erase him. Lu/Ciel-If you can split them up into 2 different characters, that would be nice but that’s not going to happen so erase them, they OP. I thought we vowed not to want a class that 1-shots. ‘

      And Im done.

      • Stacyson says:

For Vp, they took away how she could react quickly after using certain skills to continue her combos. Example: zz>z into Mana steal and could continue chaining with combos. The renewals took away how she could react after certain actives or special actives. She pretty much became stiff even though she was stiff enough. The best thing you can do with VP in pvp terms is platform sweeping with gravity balls.

      • Flare Kyn says:

Erasing characters from a game is ALWAYS a bad idea.

They do need to be fixed up a bit, but the fact they exist is something you’ll have to deal with!

        • Malle says:

Damn I was worrying when I checked Babel I’d have some criticism on what I wrote. But apparently 3 years of playing this game apparently gave me some experience.

As far your comment goes, I think Ara was meant to be the first fluid character, but it got out of hand. All her skills technically correspond with her class, but it’s the simple fact that her commands flow too well with her skills and that is what the phrase OP means. SD is considered the weakest of the Ara’s but the truth is she is like RF in a sense. Her game play requires strategy and swift commanding and timing. She cannot do the X-drop and no mana drain like YR and Asura can. SD is ok to keep. She would be considered OP still but again she’s fluid. YR- Resurrection passive, can infinite combo with 4 Ki orbs and 100MP and doesnt even need x-drop. Asura- huh at first I thought she was balanced but, that infinite mana drain and x-drop just got me.

Elesis- Elesis is one of those “this isn’t even my final form” characters. GrM- as you can see she gained a few utilities while the other 2 classes lost some. Her MP gain increased, damage stayed the same and has become more fluid, plus her commands basically make close combat a nightmare for her opponents. She is so evasive and can recovery quickly. Also, she is kind of stealing Elsword’s spotlight. BH- She got the buff she needed, sorta, her burn damage is nice now, commands changed and ability effects were modified. I’ll have to play her more to really comment. CrA- I have never picked up a CrA in my life and will never do so. I heard she got a nerf but that doesn’t excuse the past face rolling.

Add- Huh. I seriously don’t know. Lunatic Psyker- The most absurd damage in history. His catches are so fucking cheap. He’s sort of fluid but is sort of choppy in execution. His flaw is that LP is straight forward. I think that’s all add’s really. If you get behind him it’s gg for him. MM- I love MM tbh. He reminds me of RF a bit too. He is so misunderstood. His damage comes after he has marked you. He is supposed to be a quick-kill class and wasn’t meant to be a class that can handle battles of duration. He is not balanced but he is manageable. Still OP as shit but I rather fight him then the other fuckers. DiE- Huh. I mean there isn’t anything I can do. He is choppy, but his skills are designed to catch a lot, not do significant damage but it doesn’t matter when he continues to catch, over and over again. I believe Mabel Gleeful embarrassed a person for saying her lacks damage. DiE does lack damage in comparison to his other 2 paths. When gear carried, that’s a different story. Every person is OP with gear so I mean that is a half-assed excuse. But yeah, he needs to actually die. Thanks to him I started saying “beware of those with colorless hair”.

Lu/Ciel- You can’t have without the other, right? So let’s begin. Base Lu/Ciel- The fact that her/his mechanics were mid-tier from base job was absolutely OVER-FUCKING POWERED. I got SS 1 week prior to the first week of her release. And all she needs is speed and a good weapon and GG. Now apparently, the community calls people like me, pay-to-win but even so, the facts stay facts, she was a threat since day 1. No one realized it yet. DL- v_v Do I even need to. All you need is Dread Hands, Stomp, make sure u have SP in the Aura of Punishment passive, Apollyon or Oblivion (your choice), a good ol +8 weapon and gg. But she isn’t exactly noob friendly but still not hard to play once you figure out what stacks are. NB- The damage on this bitch. Not just the ability damage but the raw damage. Um wdf. Ok She cant exactly one shot, but I mean, I rather finish it quick then being killed slowly. Soul stacking, constant sigil, her hit-box increases at job change from what I saw, soul eruption is an active skill and ERASES your HP. Basically, if she catches you, its done. The fucked up thing is she can rape with Ciel, and wont even have to use Lu.

But I mean…….this is Elsword, so anything goes right?

          Over and out.

        • Flare Kyn says:

Colorless hair? You mean his hair is see-through? Hahahah, no. White is considered a color.

Ara: To be honest, I don’t see it. SD is indeed harder to use, but she has more potential than the other two if you manage to master her. YR is easier, but less potential. Asura, well, my level 72 Asura doesn’t even do as well as my IS did when he was level 70.

Elesis: Okay, this one I gotta say NO. GrM has most of the same tools as LK, but she’s not out-right better. For one, I don’t see anything like Air Slicer on her, and two, her Power Break isn’t as useful for herself as LK’s Armor Break is. There are others, but I’ll leave it at that, or this would go on forever. BH, well, she’s not even half as similar to RS as GrM is to LK. While she does share some tools with her brother, most of them are different. For one, she’s PURE fire. She can’t use Ice or Earth like Elboy can. Then there’s CrA. She’s less like her bro that BH is. A couple of her skills resemble a couple of LK’s, but that’s it. Her main gimmick is ‘sacrifice health and steal it back’. At first it seems OP, but play her for a while and then you realize ‘Oh crap I’m low on HP because I used a ton of skills and I’m about to fucking die!” And yeah, that’s happened to me. So trust me, she’s not as OP as people claim.

Add: Well, he IS a glass cannon. He’s designed to make the fights short, whether he wins or loses. LP, MM, and DiE all have one train that covers one of his many weaknesses. LP focuses on his damage, and is basically Mike Tyson. He NEEDS you to go down fast. MM is designed to try to keep you out of the enemy’s attack range. His attacks aren’t strong, but he’s also good at keeping his distance. DiE focuses on catching. After all, what good is power if you can’t hit the enemy? He also has Seal of Time, to help deal with his cooldown time and his low HP, though that part requires some pretty good guesswork on the one thing you want to avoid in the first place.

LuCiel: You realize that’s how they get people to play new characters, right? They overpower them at the start and then give them the nerfs. DL, yeah, I can kind of see it, but at the same time I feel like he isn’t as good as some other characters. But I do admit, the ability to grant Curse is broken and needs to be nerfed, but that’s the only thing I believe needs to be changed. NB, yeah, I’d say Marbas needs a nerf, but the way they play is fine.

      • Malle says:

I left out TT from the Chung. I think TT is actually perfect. He has low MP catches. Mid MP skills he can use to buff others. He doesn’t have skills that don’t correspond with his class. He has about the same damage as IP in my opinion. He’s actually one of the classes I wouldn’t mind playing but unfortunately a lot of Chungs don’t have favor so I go where the money is. I am really a fan of his missile, bomb, and cannon game play. I think he is superb. A decent tank, wonderful support, and can even do a little PvE if you switch gear and sockets. (I have 2 types of Gren gear myself, one used for PvE exclusively and PvP exclusively. I recommend others try it) But yeah as you can see, I love but sadly I no longer play him. He is a nice class overall.

        • Silver Havoc says:

This man speaks the truth ^-^ Good thing I only played TT and MM seriously (but that before my computer crashed, around 6 months ago, what means whatever happens in the game don’t make go salty)

  • UNub says:

The important thing to note is that even Starcraft 2 has had terrible offline events before. It was rather strange that Elsword continuously had successful ones in all honesty.

Players are already on edge from controversial updates being lined up in a row and jammed into the throat. Did KOG succeed with revamps and socket changes? PvE-wise, they did. You can now use any character and not have to suffer what we’ve seen before where WS is crap-tier and you need a mount to do anything. That’s more than I can say for many MMOs.

But because PvP is in the game and was entirely ignored in order to put in the socket changes, players feel like they’re being shot. The balancing done for PvP was actually effective, but it was undone by the socket changes. Developers work by milestones, or set scheduled changes to get done to a game. They do not have the time to revise consequences, they can only hope players enjoy the changes and hope their publisher still gives them money.

Oh yeah, the catch here is: once a milestone is decided contractually by Nexon and KOG, then KOG cannot go back on it once accepting it. Did they realize the consequences at that time? Would it even be possible if theoretically every character is usable and enjoyable in PvE (which is how it actually turned out)? Very difficult situations only game devs would experience.

    • Flare Kyn says:

Yeah, every game developer makes mistakes, and sometimes there’s just not enough time to fix them. But honestly, I feel like most people are raging at problems that don’t even exist.

Elesis better than Elboy? Yeah right. I’ve been able to do just as well on my LK as I have on my GrM. And Grand Master is the class that’s most like Elboy in the first place. And Ara being OP? Heh. I can’t even survive any SDs with my Asura without getting lucky, but my IS was able to do them daily, and they both had full parties. Add being bad in PvE? Please. They just don’t know how to PvE as Add, ’cause I never had problems with Add in PvE.

But there is one thing I agree with. Aisha’s Memorize system. It’s good in theory, but the execution pretty much made it useless. Who’s going to let an Aisha stand still long enough to memorize even a single skill, let alone 3? And in PvE, trying to memorize means you don’t spend as much time killing enemies. Yeah, it helps with bossing, but it doesn’t really help your overall rank.

Well in a way in order for someone to see something perhaps a major screw up needed to happen. I do come from Elsword NA I have several characters I suppose this is the wake up call if this isn’t than nothing has been learned and nothing gained. There was potential and obviously potential went south. I don’t care if you are KOG or Nexon by the end of the day this is all business shenanigans and a bad PR event. If I were there I’d probably have the same thing go through my head as I am sure most of you can imagine that frustration. I do want to see a fix and if there was ,after reading these comments I am seeing that is going south as well.

Hey BOTH OF YOU don’t hate on NA. At least NA don’t have gear carried faggots who don’t understand what the phrase “Display skill” means. Also, NA doesn’t have nearly enough revamps and renewals that KR has. Honestly, KR can keep their updates since NA is a little unstable but that can be fixed. KR is beyond saving.

The problem was that KoG forgot one business rule when helping an economy: When an economy is doing bad, you let it fix itself, not implant more rules to complicate the problem.

And now look, you don’t see NA players walking out on a convention because they have had enough of your KR developers BS. Yet you want to talk shit on NA. GTFO of here morons.

but then again, we’re about to lose ranks again, so see how many +10 and higher players you fight….

it’ll be worse if they’re packing add dam. I got 11k on my DW through an ass load of socketing and it makes a difference now, so wait til revamp when she got more phys and hits harder

          • Malle says:

LoL to the guy who commented. Um you do understand everyone who is SSS now was SSS before the +10’s came out IDIOT. We were SSS WAAAAAY before +10’s and that’s funny coming from the guy who plays a server where +12 is easy to get. :/ Bitch sdfu before I scalp you with my logic. I could’ve sworn we got +10’s before summer ended and it’s winter atm. SO wdf are you even saying. NOW they are +10’s but season 3 was last year. but of course, you the type of person that has their head so far up their ass to hear what’s being said.

so tell me, are you a troll using easy classes to win, a cashwhore buying your way up the ranks, a person that believes they’re never wrong like an arrogant know-it-all, or a moron simply ignoring what’s clearly wrong? cause the people that don’t listen to others are always one of these 4 things

          • Flare Kyn says:

The server where +12 is easy to get? What? Uh, he’s playing the NORTH AMERICAN server! And last I checked, you couldn’t even get +7 without a scroll, trying a million times, or getting lucky!

          • Malle says:

You moron. You can easily get +7 without a damn scroll. Hell I got +8 without a scroll. Only took 150 level 7 weapon enhancement stones. Maybe, you just have bad luck. I have no problem getting +8 its +9 and above that is hard.

And going from the guy who I now know plays NA, you sounded like you played KR, sorry not my fault you didn’t make that known sooner. And also, you calling me a cash whore is unnacceptable. I’m guessing you never heard of a J.O.B? Yeah that let’s people spend money on something they like. Get one. And since we are on this subject, what exactly is a cash whore to you? Someone who has money to spend? Someone who sells IB for prices that match the state of the economy. If you blame people like me for being successful in this game then quit. We don’t need sorry ass people who blame the hardworking. You people who hate on KC users think we don’t go through hard work. Do you know how hard it is to pull IB’s, do you know how difficult it is to decide if you want to gren a weapon for yourself even though you want to have the ED to buy something off board. We just have different struggles than you do. But like I said, get a job. And if you give me that “it’s hard to get a job in this economy” bitch I quit 4 jobs in the past year and have a very well paying job atm. And I’m probably younger than you.

Oh, and I speak for every KC user when I say: We don’t give a fuck if you are mad because in the end the one who’s more successful in this game is us and not you. You’re still going to bitch and complain, but yet you same people are going to be lining our pockets when you go into a S> 30:100 room. LoL

          • MagicSpice says:

first off, try getting +7 w/o blacksmith and see the difference. i’d rather farm ereda for ammies cause at least +8 shows up often.

and for the record, I DO HAVE A JOB. but i don’t blow hundreds trying to get IBs or a +11.

speaking of, if you had to pay real money for +10 or better, you’re a cashwhore. try getting +10 for free like i did (fucking luciel event was OP)

and while it’s not easy to pull an IB or mount for that matter, imagine how much harder it is for a free player to ever get burners and readers. i’ve done those surveys before, those bastards are picky as hell. plus half my guild can’t even do free offers NOR add their own KC. then again, you make it sound like everyone playing can work

and the ED comment. I line my pockets with ED by selling stuff from henir, ereda, SDs, my DW’s capped treasure hunting lv, and my AS’ capped alchemy lv. i abuse FREE INGAME METHODS, cause personally, i don’t like selling KC. done so only 3 times and i find it tedious and annoying, especially since spar rooms had trading removed a long while back.

so, don’t try to make it sound like everyone playing got easy access to KC, don’t try to make it seem like I’M a cashwhore, don’t act like selling KC is my thing (tell that to the dumbass NoMoreGames who got it to 150:100 at some point), and don’t act like i’m don’t know what hard work is, when not only have i spent over 2 years to get my DW as strong as she is now, but also had to fucking SSS rank her with a damn spar set when S3 started and cashwhore players were frequent cause ranks were close.

and yeah, you do have your head up your ass, trying to talk so much shit when you don’t know what REALLY goes on. but that’s proven in the first comment i made that you responded to

          • MagicSpice says:

            “don’t hate on NA”… pfft

you fucking play NA too, so you should know it’s got it’s own share of shit.

plus what KR is salty about, we’ll get it too eventually. and only add, ara, and luciel mains are truly excited about it.

at least my DW will dish out more damage, cause it’s funny how people think she got nerfed when a lot of her arsenal is better when you look at S3 and S4 differences. few few is unchanged and even less is worse than before (RIP speed buff and spirit accel). but we’ll see in NA by mid January at the latest

          • Flare Kyn says:

Also, 150 stones? Sorry, did you miss the part where I CLEARLY EXADURATED?! I didn’t literally spend a million stones, BUT IT FELT LIKE IT! And actually, I think I didn’t even spend as much as you did.

      • The Laughing Man says:

That’s my region for you in general. Oh well I guess I am one of the few that can feel that pain. Yes KR, gets the goods ,but that’s to be expected that’s their main audience the rest of other servers are simply just that other servers. We are only ,but an after thought anyways. That reaction in the video is something I call someone darn screwed up because to see a crowd not excited is generally not a good thing.

            Entirely not your fault, really.
Malle Salty-chan just got his butt hurt from not reading carefully before bashing others.
Some NA forumers is not equal to ALL NA forumers, much less ALL NA players. Then he tried too hard to hide his pathetic state and embarrassment by excessive rudeness and nonsense rambling
            .

          • MagicSpice says:

it became an argument cause he jumping in w/o paying attention.. i have a tendency to put people like that in their place when they try to call me out on something and have no proof or nout enough of it.

it’s honestly how my VP got SS so easy. she’s excellent at zoning and tons failed to catch on (nor do they catch onto xxx charge x. try it on someone when their HP is low, and watch how many fall for it)

          • The Laughing Man says:

            @ MagicSpice

Such is a day in the life in any forum really. Oh well happens even to the best of us. So your an Aisha player? Specifically a DW. Rarely see that class, then again playing a TT which I also don’t see very much. yeah I specialize in TT Support ,but man I am gonna miss doing the things I love to do in both PvP and PvE. At least I will have most of my normal skills.

          • MagicSpice says:

honestly, TT is underrated and DW is VERY underrated….

TT has plenty of good skills for bossing and mobbing (plus the cannon reloading is real now), while DW has TONS of bossing skills with some good clears (plus makeup is a guaranteed 2.5 times the MP gain for 60 secs, regardless of the skill effect you take)

honestly, people just have to use a class to understand it more… it’s why i hate add after all. he’s squishy, but can do a TON of cheap crap to get you before you’re close and then lv70 hamel Sd set makes that worse… more so with ring of fury

          • The Laughing Man says:

Well, its to be expected not many people can full fill the true role of the character they play unless they spend time understanding the class associated with that character form. I like TT mainly because it full fills a job that not common which will be somewhat lost coming the update where like two characters will have a buff aura and Wonder Wall, will be IP exclusive, and well sure I get the original Tactical Field back, but I really do like the Raid version gives MP and attack.

Anyone can be an Add. I kind of consider Add despite being the glass cannon character. Is an easy to pick up and play character that doesn’t require much time to spend with. I am not saying this with disrespect ,but yeah he is built to be that way. And there are some characters in the roster depending on the class that have that in mind as well, but I can’t make that claim as I am not an avid PvP player or do I really care to have an Add, but in the right hands and with the right gear a true monster which I have witnessed. Personally I don’t find him hard ,but I can see why others would see it that way because he has a lot of homing type skills and has range on his side and basically a system that encourages the player to utilize his awakened state for his benefits.

“honestly, people just have to use a class to understand it more…”

There was only one class which for the only time I ever job changed after almost 3 years was my Eve as a CEM. Trial and error was that one and I understood how the class functioned ,but found no matter what I did she just wasn’t really keeping up. The first time I said I had enough with experimenting with her and decided to go CBS. Not one of my best moments in Elsword NA.

          • MagicSpice says:

add isn’t excatly hard to deal with (cause 99% of NA loves to go aggro and you can abuse their aggro play style easy), it’s just the fact that he has the most mechanics catered in his favor. if a smart player uses add, good luck winning. however, all classes that appeared after TT clearly got a huge advantage over the previous 18… but it all comes down to how you and your opponents play.

as for me, i’ve job changed a GA into WS, and a SD into YR then into AS before. i have ended up deleting characters over time, but thanks to Void Els (which sucks overall), i have tried out all classes but RS, Cem, IP, BH, and DL. Void’s high exp gain and free job advancements (if you do something like 1st to 2nd job that is), it’s at least a good test ground to get a feel for characters. but honestly, i like NA better than Void and that’s saying something…

but since NA has a jump thing now, i’ll boost a EM to have all the aisha, and jump a GA if i can since i miss having a rena

          • The Laughing Man says:

That’s not to surprising if the classes after TT have an advantage because in reality the characters and classes after TT feel like the 2.0 versions of existing characters.

Ara’s system of awakening is very similar to Chung’s style of awakening in the sense of being able to change form through awakening usually the 3rd bead.

Elesis feels like an updated Elsword with a similar system implemented. Her first two classes are heavily based around his LK and RS respectfully even if there are differences ,but I am not get into that argument because we already have two people doing that job of back and forth. Even though BH after update is gonna be different especially with the loss of similar skills to RS usually the blade variant of her skills like Burst Rising and whatever the other one is at the moment in NA. Her CrA class is actually an improved BM with VC’s system of how you utilize the damage only with the healing which was a concept BM was gonna originally going to have ,but scrapped from what was read.

Add is only themed similar to Eve in terms of classes the only class he has similar to Eve is his MM which feels like and updated CEM. Though people seem to like to compare all his classes with hers because the stupid pair character thing which became officially debunked in later updates after his character was made.

Lu/Ciel. Ciel especially is a watered down DC in terms of say mind you I have not played DC ,but the gun firing and the fact when you fire the gun if you are close to, the guns by themselves count as a physical attack when whipping them out much similar to DC. Royal Guard itself is basically a Chung with faster firing speed. You cannot tell me Royal Guard did not take aspects from the Chung classes with his various skills with the launcher. DL basically looks like an updated VP, but that’s just opinionated claim. I can only say looks because I don’t have a Lu/Ciel nor desire to make one because that character has cash cow in its blood. No offense to Lu/Ciel players ,but by cash cow I mean the fact both can get two different outfits which screams IB scheme if you wanna have an IB set for that character/characters. Anyways that’s just me nerding out on this hard.

Mind you all this nerding out is just observation so may I ask to take it with a grain of salt because I am not here to pick a fight or debate ,but rather just picking at brains you dig?

As for classes, I have an LK, BH, GM,TT, EM,CBS, Asura, BM,RF and VC. I like Raven as a character if you can’t tell, and BM is my first and main for almost 4 years now and I am not sure what the Asura abbreviation is. The only classes I’ve tried at base were Add and Lu/Ciel and I don’t care for them that much for more personnel reasons than anything. For a time I didn’t care for Aisha in general ,but I appreciate having her around in party play and seeing as I have and EM you can guess what classes I prefer to play as at least for PvE granted BH and BM have more PVP roots in mind ,but their dungeon play ain’t too shabby.

          • Flare Kyn says:

You want to know what class I think is underrated?

            Lord Knight.

          • The Laughing Man says:

            @ Flare Kyn

LK? Depends on what scene. I still see them for PvE play a lot of the time in NA quite a bit, but PvP very rare and far in between.

The face takes the abuse while the brain hides behind it.

KoG is a face and Nexon is the brain behind many other faces.
And right now that brain seems to be telling one of its faces to make out with the others.
    With tongue of course.

    • Endgame says:

Please, stop blaming Nexon for KOG’s bullshit.

-Nexon Korea displays 41 games on their front page. Some of them aren’t out yet, but most of them out. And NONE OF THEM, besides maybe Aima Online, which is also developed by KOG (And undoubtedly flopping.) pull the shit that Elsword does.

-Or to make my point more clear: Closers was developed by the very people who worked on Elsword up until Velder. Former KOG employees. And none of the bullshit that KOG pulls has been present thus far. Even the Tab B which does exist is mostly for rich people who want to use equipment activation buffs since we have enough hotkey slots to start out with. Meanwhile, Elsword is the ONLY kMMO to actually have such a limited restriction on hotkeys for free players. (Yes, they give them out for free for events. And you know when this started? After the ST Revamp royally pissed everyone off. They give them out because they’re bribery events.)

-NA Elsword is hosted by KOG and KOG alone. No one else can tell KOG what they can and cannot do. And look at how they treat the players.

…..If you are at all familiar with the differences between the treatment of the players of NA (As well as every other version. They get the exact same things as NA.) and KR, can you seriously tell me with a straight face that Nexon isn’t a POSITIVE influence in all this? God knows what dumb shit KOG wanted to do that Nexon told them they can’t. It’s likely NA is their true vision they have for the game but Nexon is keeping them from treating the Koreans as shitty as they treat everyone else. I mean, you really think they didn’t want to make Skill Notes Cash Shop only in KR too? Oh, they did.

Everything that is wrong with Elsword is the fault of KOG and KOG alone. Elsword is a unique little snowflake….. that would have been acid rain in warmer weather.

      • Nova says:

Nexon is the one keeping KoG in check? Wow, didn’t think things were THAT bad. KoG must be a really bad company then if NEXON is the one stopping them from making horrible decisions.

        • MagicSpice says:

and it still don’t prevent them from NA….

LF> Kill3r Combo…. at least things were better when they were running NA

          • Flare Kyn says:

I once heard the guys from Kill3r Combo were still running it, but take that with a grain of salt.

          • MagicSpice says:

things were still way better around the time sander hit NA….. despite the shitty EXP tables then…

if they never stuck all servers on the same EXP table…. NA would need 3 times the EXP than we do now…
