PVP’s been pay2win forever. It was only a matter of time before they figured out they could make PVE pay2win too.
And considering how much they were copying Maple Story for a while, (With actual rumors amongst the Korean playerbase that KOG brought on former Maple Story designers.) I’m surprised it happened later rather than sooner.
But KOG, they lack subtley. Being so blatantly greedy when everyone’s STILL pissed over Rose…..
If I didn’t know any better, I’d say even KOG is sick of Elsword and just wants it to die already. But nope. This is just KOG being KOG.
If they don’t have something huge planned for Summer, it could be the beginning of the end. But what can KOG come up with that’s huge, but NOT a new character? I don’t think they’re that creative.
And no, I don’t think releasing the remaining three stages + level cap extended to 90 is going to help anything. Did anyone even care for the Elysion stages beyond the reveal that Ignia was retconned back to life or Yuno? (Who you know is going to come back anyway. No one dies outside of flashbacks in Elsword! Except Karis and Helputt…..)
Fairly sure PvE has been P2W since mounts were introduced. Though that doesn’t seem to matter anymore since every event gives them out, temporarily or permanently.
Maybe if you started playing the game instead of having your head stuck up your butt after quitting and just reading changes on elwiki, you’d know that maximize basically makes every +9 in the game +11 tier.
P2W? Yeah free +9s almost every event along with the huge damage boost from maximize makes this game very pay to win.
PvP isn’t even p2w atm, everyone except like CEm and CrA are able to basically one combo with half-assed gear like a +9.
Also last time I checked Hero mode isn’t all of PvE, so no, it’s not p2w in that either, you can easily solo SDs and such with +7 Hidden Flare/Roaring berserker sets, but you wouldn’t know that since you only hide on elwiki and whine instead of playing the game.
Ok…how is this game pay to win? I have NEVER understood this. Why can’t you just take 4 characters grind SDs for just 2 weeks craft gren gear, sell it and be rich? Or better yet GREN SERVICE. Worried about amulets? Seems to me like lately servers have been giving amulets out like candy. Yet people complain about pay to win. I think you’re not putting effort into this game AT ALL.A
The people who look good and have the nicest things are the people who did what I just said but did it back in s1 and kept doing it. It works. Got 5bil at least on every character on every account.

Dungeons is up to you on cashing cause even a +6 can beat the fuck out of mobs when you socket right….
PvP is the P2W part cause lots of players tend buy the best enhancements they can along with Ring of Fury for an easy catch.
PvE is fine, it’s PvP where lots need to stop buying to try and one up each other… go earn your shit like I do

But this game really isn’t pay to win you can get everything a paying player has for free even a +11 by doing ereda. It’s more like pay to not spend hundreds of hours grinding *someone who has 3 reapers and most in game titles*
Maybe in KR which has been in full blown panic mode ever since the ST Revamp made them resort to the most generous events in MMO history, but the international versions have not been so generous with +11 giveaways.
They even took +10 amulets out of Ice Burners.
there’s still possible +10 drops from raids….
while you can get +10, +11, and possibly even +12 for free, the cashers need far less time and effort (and less luck) to do so.
and guess how 99% of those with +10 or higher got their enhancements? it’s not through ereda farming or buying ammies off others, that’s for sure
@EndGame Yeah, they are the biggest money grabbers, lol. And I’m really wondering why they are holding off of LuCiel’s 3rd class! I feel like it’s going to be so stupidly OP, that it will just ruin PvP and PvE for every player. To have a whole character with FOUR different classes before you even have a release of the 3rd class for the previous character…sounds fishy to me, lol.
Pretty much, I can see where this is going. After Elysion, they will release the final village and with it…lvl cap to 100. So, maybe the game will end sometime around the beginning of 2018, lol.
And yeah, let’s hope that KOG REALLY doesn’t get their hands on hosting CloserS when it finally comes to NA….
At this rate it looks like Naddic is going to self-publish NA Closers since Nexon NA has shown no willingness to bring over anything other than Ghost in the Shell or Maple Story 2 in recent memory.
Naddic knows KOG’s bullshit better than anyone else. They were former KOG employees. They would most certainly not be willing to let them host and ruin NA Closers.
i think its better for Naddic to just do that, i think its better in the long run.
Naddic made the best decision in making Closers a Dungeon oriented game for the most part. Im glad pvp is just a tiny bonus like thing in the game. That’s also a reason I loved GC. It was most part dungeon, pvp wouldn’t be so tempting even by endgame cause you could go Champion mode and hunt for titles ~
