Tips and Details

  • Maximum of 1 shield at a time.
  • Causes enemies inside the area of the shield to take increased damage from you and allies for the duration (approx 20% at lv.7). Because of this, it actually makes this skill quite a powerful tool in both PvE and PvP, especially when combined both Wind III enchant and high crit rate (not sure if this stacks with add. dmg however?). Combined with Tactical Field - Raid from a Trooper, this can make some PvE runs go extremely well when placed together.
  • Shield has a % of user max HP and breaks when its HP reaches 0.
  • Contrary to popular belief the skill does not work on all manner of projectiles; only on those that are destroyed on contact.
    • It is useful against Nasod Inspector where nuking isn't possible and any mob that shoots homing missiles.
    • Against Avalanche, it is best used on the leftmost or rightmost edge of the map which ensures the ice arrows from the opposite side will not be able to reach the shield. However, it is generally considered a waste of MP, better to out maneuver the missiles and much better to save the MP for attacking instead.
 
An Atomic Shield buffed by Sharpshooter Syndrome
  • Counts toward activating effects that require you to get hit.
    • Does not count against your damage score in any way.
    • Can activate the 5-piece set effect on the level 60 Mechanized set in PvE.
    • Can be 'dodged' by allies but may still work normally.
    • Should be able to heal allies that are stunned or frozen by binding circle on activation by extension.
  • Oddly enough, the shield acts as a separate mob, and could be buffed by something such as Deadly Chaser's Sharpshooter Syndrome. Also because of this, leaving the shield closer to projectiles than you are will make the projectiles to home into the shield instead.
    • This also means enemies can "attack" the "shield", making for rather awkward situations in PvP where enemy players can hit it's collisions to gain free mana...
