      They were thinking that skills with Stun need to not be worse than useless in PvP.

      No one wants to be punished for hitting properly with a skill because their target had 450-499 Light resistance and they didn’t know it, and no one likes only having one usable damaging 100 MP-tier skill either (like DW has).

      Not to mention that the concept of complete resistance to an element (and any related status effect, like Stun, Bleed, Slow, Curse, etc.) is actually stupid and makes balancing some things unnecessarily difficult.

          Removing those status effects from resistance would be going back on a balance decision that did not have a bad intention, when the main problem with that decision was only that you could resist those status effects by nearly 100%. And reducing Stun times in PvP when Stun doesn’t even really do anything in PvE seems kind of stupid.

          Also, complete resistance isn’t just stupid in PvP, it’s a stupid concept in general, and having overpowered elemental effects in PvE doesn’t change that (though those overpowered effects could use a nerf).

            Note how is say “USE” not display, not view. USE. If something is being shown, you aren’t using it. Also note how in the new version there is 3 options, if it was simply a display function which simply allowed you to toggle whose stats you’re seeing, that is literally almost no different than it is now and the 3rd option of keeping it as it would be near pointless.

      You can have good sockets on lu but shit on ciel and lock lu stats on both chars. So it’s really good if you don’t want to waste time and money.

      It’s only useless if you already have both Lu and Ciel completely funded. The feature makes it so you can have one character’s stats count as both characters. So you only need to fund one of the duo and they will both benefit from it. Or you can keep it as is and have them both individually funded.

          If it was just a display settng, it wouldn’t even…do anything? Like how would the stats even show? You already switch between Lu and Ciel in town with the star UI icon, did you think being on Ciel would just show Lu’s stats visually then? Meaning the game would be showing you the wrong stats?

          And I’m not even sure what you mean with Endgame syndrome; I dont see anyone crying about elesis/ara/add Kappa.

            I’m well aware 2na is fluent in English and lives in Korea, but that doesn’t mean he can’t make mistakes; The fact remains that the word used does not mean display as in the screen’s UI. It actually refers to someone or something that represents a bigger whole (it’s used for leaders of various groups even). Wether or not it does mean a UI only change you can’t tell from that alone no, that’s true.

            However, then it splits into the ‘before’ and ‘after’ changes. We don’t have a stat switching UI at all right now, so if it was just that, that part would just be empty with a ‘ – ‘. Instead it says ‘Current character’s stats apply’. Which heavily implies the stats actually functioning on a character. The after then has Lu/Ciel, Lu and Ciel.

            On top of that, this is a balance patch note, which never lists misc changes to UI; Those would appear in the ‘Other’ or ‘Character’ subsections of the full patchnotes, not a page like this. KoG is at least consistent with that.

            2nafish is also human and can make mistakes (such as how he missed translating that Iron Body – Strong couldn’t be used in hitstun from the last balance patch notes).
            Considering that these are balance patch notes that have been released early, before the relevant patch notes, I don’t think that it would be very likely for a UI feature that doesn’t affect gameplay to be listed in these notes.

            2 and 3: Lu or Ciel applies. Star button switches to the other character but doesnt change to the character’s stats; essentially showing the wrong stats for that character then.

            That seems to be what you think this change is going to be.

            Now question yourself *why* this would ever be part of a balance patch update that never, *never* mentions mere UI QoL changes? Even the Skill Slot resizing or A-type slot removal was just a small mention in the full patch notes. Not to mention how completely pointless of a change that would be. In which world would you ever want to see the other character’s stats without switching to that character? That doesn’t even matter for dungeons by the way, that button will only switch the stats and show you the character in the U window, it wont switch the character like in towns.

            And no, it’s not the first time they’ve changed the UI. The PvE/PvP buttons weren’t always there, and they’ve rearranged the stats a few times as well.

            Anyway, your mock-up is assuming it’s just the stats that would be visible, but what if it also allows you to change the costumes/accessories of that character without switching to them? Sure, it may technically be a useless change, but just because it’s useless doesn’t mean it’s bad.

            First off, I said CHARACTER MENU, NOT UI! Yes, I know the UI as a whole has been changed many times, but I’m not talking about the UI as a whole! Also, I said “outside of removing/adding stats”, and outside of stats being added/removed or general UI reworks, I don’t remember those rearrangements happening, but even then, those would apply for all characters while this is specifically for LuCiel.

        I actually do quite well with LuCiels.

        Believe it or not, them having two MP bars actually makes it a lot easier to use skills in succession. I’m almost always finding myself being able to fill up my Combination Cauge with two Strength skills and a Tenacity skill without using a single Z or X attack in between them.

      My guess is that they were buffed because they take a long time to activate yet they do less damage than equally costly skills, or something. For example Pulling Thrust did ~1200% for 100MP while Rail Stinger does ~2000% and Dimension Link Sentry does ~1750%. But Shadoweave will now hit as hard as a Bravery for 150MP.

            Because, as the game says, each orb represents 30 MP (even though it’s so much easier to get them), and Shadoweave’s default cost is 190 MP and 2 orbs (the [Enhanced] version makes it 40 MP cheaper).

            As for the Secret Art skill buffs, it’s probably to compensate for the fact that Secret Arts no longer receive damage boosts for skill damage boosts on the final skill of the Secret Art.

            I’m not just talking about Ara’s skills, though. Meteor Shower is a Bravery skill that only costs 150 (yes I know you can hold it to consume more MP and get more hits in, but still), and same goes to M-3 Flamethrower. Also, Energy Void costs 150MP and can be used without energy, so I’d count that as well.

            Those are the ones I found with a quick look through the Bravery category page on elwiki. There might be others, but I’m not entirely sure.

          Every orb counts as 30mp. That’s why 10 orb skills are considered as bravery and wind wedge as tenacity.

      Considering that her stance skills are the least damaging in her kit dps wise because you can’t stack it with ERP + Gloves, the buff was very necessary. Ara was already bad at PvE and this is just making that problem less prominent.

        Actually, the Secret Arts are in fact considered to be Special Actives, so ERP damage buffs should affect them, they just don’t have their own MP costs or cooldowns.

        I happen to know this because I tested it myself with my SD by changing out the skill cut-ins and using them in Free Training. The Secret Arts always used the same cut-in as the part 4 skill, so the Secret Arts are considered to be the same type as the part 4 skill. They just activate automatically when the conditions are met.

        Flare you really are a piece of work. ERP + Gloves is always in reference to stacking via % bonuses on specific sets. Strength ERP + Strength stacking gloves and so forth. Ara uses Bravery, so there’s no way that anyone other than Asura would consistently be rewarded for using the Stance skills over and over. Her main form of DPS unlike other characters is in the stances as well. Strength is not worth taking on Ara, therefore her stances suffered. These buffs are logical if we use that kind of reasoning. But you’re going with the assumption that the stances are rewarded the same no matter which ERP / gloves you took which is an obvious level of bs.

          The way I tested them was to first have Tenacity and Strength have a different cut-in than Bravery to narrow it down, and all of them used the one that I had set for Tenacity/Bravery, so then I changed Tenacity’s cut-in back to normal, and I found that they all used the same cut=in as the part 4 skill. Hsien’s Blast used the Strength cut-in, Sakra’s Fierce Tiger used the Tenacity cut-in, Devil’s Killing Howl used the Tenacity cut=in, Yama’s Purgatory used the Strength cut-in, Specter’s Night Parade of One Hundred Souls used the Strength cut-in, and Asura’s Pulverization used the Tenacity cut-in.

Sure, there are some that are easy to spam, but even Night Parade of One Hundred Souls, which I’d argue to be Ara’s best stance skill, launches opponents into the air, causing knockdown if you don’t have an ally that catches them right away.

          By saying this you really just ignore where the highest damage efficiency goes into the game. We stack damage based on skill cast due to Heroic gear meta (and now Elrianode) for the gloves, making one type of skill your best DPS. Ara’s best 300 MP is Shadoweave which every Ara class uses and is spammable, leading them to just stack Bravery skills for highest overall DPS.

          The stance skills, which are of varying skill types, do not get a direct bonus from ERP stacking and Gloves, which are always going to require you to dump it into the skill type you’re intending to spam, since it’s multiplicative. Meaning, Yama Raja cannot just dump ERP into Strength tier, that’s a complete waste. Yama Raja specifically still uses Rakshasa Stance very often and it was not rewarding compared to other characters if you consider that she uses Bravery stacking for highest DPS.

          Anyway not sure why I’m trying to explain what is essentially very obvious endgame information (everyone doing Heroic who is optimizing their gear already should know this stuff) to a casual like yourself. Probably because I don’t like seeing your naivete spread all over these comments. You should learn what I’m talking about when referring to ERP + gloves stacking before you spew out comments that miss the point of what I’m saying.

      Preach it buddy >__< Clearing dungeons with CBS is the biggest pain in the butt… I love her, but it gets on my nerves that I literally have to use half of my potions to survive hero dungeons.. And she is literally the only character I have these issues with… Whether it's the mana gain through skills or normal combo… it's the worst mana gain in the whole game… Henir Challenge? With a low levelled gear it's impossible.. These nerfes are only appropriate for Koreans that have plus 10 gear and higher.. If you don't believe me.. then promise.. play with her.. you will understand the struggle… And with Linear Divider getting this kind of nerf.. she is practically trash.. on of the most ruined classes…

            and to put icing on the cake, that also means you can’t have full immunity to DW’s stun moves… all you can do is cut down the time they work, but it’ll still mean MB canceling easy and any smart DW player will be super armored before using those.

            i’m honestly not sure on that since els isn’t too clear on what’s additive (in that case it’d be 45+50 to get 95%) or multiplicative (it’d be 0.55 times 0.5 to get 0.275 or 72.5% resistance).

            els has math all over the place going in weird directions…. but given the logic they use half the time…. why question it?

      Because being able to spam more abilities when most other characters have had their passives for MP gain and such nerfed made him above the rest if he secured any form of a lead. Don’t really know KOG’s reasoning, but when you can’t get punished at all for casting Shooting Star over and over, there’s a problem.

    Elesis is still, to date, the worst thing to ever happen to Elsword. (Especially the boy himself.) The way she killed Dark Nephilim in that video was also needlessly brutal. Because that’s just it: Elesis is an evil bitch.

    -“Elesis” is a corruption of “Elise”. Characters named Elise tend to be cancer. (See: Sonic 2006 and Fire Emblem: Fates.) Therefore “Elesis” denotes a mutation of cancer!

    -A common typo of Elesis is “Eelsis”. Eels are creepy. Being reminded of eels is not nice.

    -Even our more sexualized female classes in Elsword had a level of dignity and class. And then here comes Crimson Avenger in a honest to god prostitute outfit…..

    -She’s fugly and suffers sameface syndrome with her brother. (Even moreso in the anime. But the less said about the anime the better.)

    -She’s such a god damn Mary Sue. She beat the leader of the demon army when she was still a loli. (Granted, Scar DOES suck and is more or less the easiest boss in the game despite being the final boss at one point and main villain before the Solace plot was pulled out of KOG’s asses…..) Comes in at just the right moment to save Elbrat from Chloe while everyone else could do nothing to help him. And then she singlehandedly saves Elrios from a demon god. And then Solace reveals to her that she was The Chosen One™ all along! And then when little brother finally gets plot significance and powers….. he uses it irresponsibly and Big Sis has to save his ass.

    -She bullies dear sweet Aisha and Ara.

Hell, shadow step finally got the ironbody-strong treatment(you know, the skill that’s only 40mp, can be used while being attacked, has 11 second cooldown, and not only gets you out of being attacked, but ALSO gives you a free catch?). Good thing too, Raven was broken. But it’s funny that endgame still thinks ara isn’t broken in PVP. it’s truly laughable. with every skill she uses, she gains back 30-90mp in the form of beads. 30-90. can you imagine that on someone like elesis? “used ironbody, now I get 90mp back lololol”. Her range is ridiculously broken. Asura’s midair catch is OP AF. All aras have a 0mp superarmor approach, and because of the way her skills work, there are no breaks in between, and she’s entirely immune to damage for 95% of them. in addition, Asura has an extra 100mp? and… you think ELESIS was broken? O_o serious right now?

      Let’s not forget about chung here now, either. all chungs have access to siege, and all it requires are cannonballs(of which you can recover what, 1, every 2 seconds, for free?)
      . if you’re in 2v2, and you have a chung on your team, you have a GUARANTEED catch from the start of the game. siege doesn’t cost mp, has ridiculous range, has ridiculous splash damage, and, if you’re tactical trooper, can literally be infinite. On top of that, it does, what, 500% per shot? that’s crazy for a skill that doesn’t use MP.

        um no. unless you are a TT you cant siege at the start lol. and even then there are only like 3 stages that are large enough for you to load more than 2 to do that. The animation for reload makes sense as 70-80% of chung moves require at least one cannonball to use some need even more so you need to constantly reload. The animation idle takes 2-3 seconds if your opponent can do that multiple times a game regardless some situations like burning a potion you are doing something wrong, siege takes mp to cast and maintain dont know where you got that incredibly inaccurate info of a free mp move like that (again tt has mp red for that but not the others). Its why all 3 classes have many passives and even a specialization stat because without it not only are 50% of commands useless but you would literally be without options. damage… really even renas seige can do more and they are arrows not cannonballs, rf and a bunch more have more damaging options. and unless its tt that has increased fire rate it is stupid easy to dodge and bait. and the animation to startup is slow. I do play chung and while i agree he has stupid broken things this is certainly not one of them

            @Kiz Yahh, ara was supposed to appear in hamel. That cutscene made me think {Farmhan} is in Feita. They were too lazy, to make models for Feita End cutscene.

          Most of this makes sense except for “Ara’s still an important character”. Story quests barely show her (and because of her personality she usually just says something obvious or negligible) and all her business with Ran isn’t focused on at all anymore, they only mentioned it in the latest epic because they were talking about everyone’s goals. We might see Ran in the next region but if he just escapes again like in Hamel (which also did not focus on Ara for long despite her being in the cutscene) then Ara will still be unimportant. Though she probably will be important if she actually saves Ran or they have some significant interactions. In Elrianode they kind of made Elsword, Aisha, and Rena more relevant because of the Hall of El, the rune stuff, and Ventus/Lincy respectively. So it would make sense if Ara and Chung became more important because of Ran and Helputt. I’d say Karis and Lu might interact too but I can’t actually remember if Karis is alive or not.

    This balance patch seems all fine except for another DiE nerf. His damage already terrible in pve and pvp ffs. But meh no biggy. And I find it ironic these people complaining about luciel nerfs and how “useless” it is to play them yet they are wiping out my entire HP(350k HP 25% red) with one skill not to mention that ridiculous combo on demonio that goes on forever doing sht tons of damage and drags you all over the map. Anyways stop saying they’re useless while they’re still that powerful. The nerfs that CBS needs is her many hitboxes and them tracking your acrosss the map. And DC would be fine if his Bullet nonsense didn’t also fracked that far and hits you so many times and adding his specializing effect makes him able to spam it any time. Aisha nerfs are and were needed. I’m not talking about you decent Aisha’s out thee but I’m sick and tired of those running Aisha’s in arena who are able to get mp from and active and while standing around waiting to be able to use a skill then does it to catch and repeat the whole process until the timer runs out. The worse part is these b*tches are proud to do it smfh.

      I still main her [I switched to Nightwatcher when released, but switched back in 2015].
      But her combos feel wonky now. Her old Kick ZZ>ZZZ combo worked waaaay better, because at least then, you could properly connect hits, rather than fail to start any combo at all.

      Sometimes no matter how many times I press Z, WS just keeps kicking the first combo kick over and over again.
      I would seriously trade off some of her [excess] active skills just to get a much needed revamp for her.

      Also I wish Dive Bomb Kick was flashier and and AOE instead. Like a Kamen Rider Ryuki Flame kick explosion. Or maybe just scrap the skill and give her some Bruce Lee style “Siege Kick Mode”
