Some of the designs looks great while some others make you question, “But why?” Can’t wait for new hand models and other events. Now if only they could just fix the long time problems, which I doubt they’ll do.

Aisha and Ara are the only good ones. Everyone else is either too damn similar to their 2nd Jobs or they’re Elesis, Add, and (non-adult) Lu and are terrible by default.
I mean, for fuck’s sake. IP is just the same fucking thing with a ponytail. WS didn’t look much different. Eve got newer wings and speakers but her outfit is generally the same. And lo and behold, Lu is still loli cancer even though the plot made it clear she’s supposed to turn into an adult when she has her full powers back. How can she NOT have her full powers back on 3rd Job? Well, it’s not like I didn’t expect it. Perma-Adult Lu would have been a nice thing. KOG does not want us to have nice things.

Lu in DL line isn’t get power back. She gain new power.
Diabla doesn’t exactly get her original powers back neither. And yet….. Lu grows boobs again. She doesn’t even look the same as she does in that one picture we were shown of her before the betrayal, but she DID gain the ability to become a woman again.
The explanation is that Lu’s physical age is based off of how much mana she has. She reverse aged because she lost a lot of mana. 3rd Jobs should be about her recovering mana and becoming more powerful in spite of diverting her mana to Ciel to keep him alive.
So yes. All three job paths should have Adult Lu.

Also, half the 3rd Job Advancements NOT wearing outfits that are too similar to their 2nd Job outfits and just getting longer hair and in some instances, pretty much just a cape. (lolLK.)
Honestly, a god number of them, you have to take a step back and actually look. For instance WS, at first glace you might see them as similar. But honestly besides color scheme, the design is quite different. Additions such as sylph tatoos, etc.
For some characters it clearly isn’t as big a step as 1st to 2nd, since many 1st jobs shared similarities to base while 2nd job solidified the character’s themeing.
Also the only character to really just get longer hair are Arme and EM. Everybody else already had long hair just styled differently.
Honestly, once you actually sit their and see what is different. You notice that there is a lot more different than you think.

LK’s has a black hole effect before the actual damage comes out. IP’s has a VERY quick first strike that power stuns, preventing you from dodging the next hit, as well as hitting pretty much everything on screen, and GrM’s… okay, not the best, but it “weakens” PvP enemies and can deal a ton of damage, and the skill timestop prevents you from avoiding the first hit, so… yeah.

Missed seeing Elbrat, Aisha looked ok, Rena looked different (i might not be sure of which job she is…lol), Raven looks hot as ever (need a better look at that arm though…), Eve…what the hell happened?!…i guess i’ll wait til i get a better look at her, Chung…oh boy…not going to spoil, just…not what i was expecting (i was expecting something a little more regal look to him…), Ara…wow, they really put a lot of work on making sure she looked good and it worked, Elesis…for one branded as the companies favourite…um they really didn’t put enough effort in her detail, do like the accessory she holds though, Add will always going to bad (well, for that job line at least…), LuCiel i think look really good, Lu looks super cute to me and Ciel looks handsome, really cool, Rose looks awesome regardless if she is a fan-service for people outside of Korea, she looks good and then Ain, wow, looking real good.
They were subtle changes and for some of the characters that’s all that they needed, for the rest, you kinda left wondering what the artist was thinking, either they totally went overboard (Eve in this case) or not making enough effort to detail the difference between the 2nd to 3rd (Elesis for me as she still looks like that job line and the subtle changes just didn’t work to make her look different, besides the hair…)

Not my fault KOG sucks at designing job advancements that actually look unique and different enough from their predecessors. But I will grant that this isn’t even a new problem. (Knight -> Sword Knight, Ranger -> Sniping Ranger, Taker -> Over Taker, Base Ciel -> Royal Guard, Tracer -> Time Tracer, etc.)
To be fair, DO THEY EVEN NEED TO?! It’s not like different paths where their design changes are because of personality changes: they’re in the same path, so they’ll have similar tastes in style.

So why is it that all Elbrat, the character the game is named after for fuck’s sake, just gets the same damn thing minus chicken legs, and a cape? His sister got a new outfit that actually looks something a female military leader would wear.
Of course, those terrible characters are the newer characters that KOG loves more. So of course they got more effort put into them. I’m just surprised they actually made Lu wear MORE clothes instead of less…..
And i agree with you on some of the designs, some of them weren’t well thought out and they had like what…more than a year to get it right?!
It’ll be interesting what the in-game models will look like, have watched a better video of the release and i’m still confused about what they did with Chung…not going to point it out just yet but oh boy i’m not sure how to take IP’s advancement…Eve is starting to look better now after a few views, but yeah, some to most weren’t well thought out.
This is just me and not anyone else’s opinion Flare Kyn, but i do think it was necessary to have the 3rd job advancement, hear me out, we had an advancement every so many towns, in my book we were way overdue for a job advancement, in this instance it makes sense to advance before the final boss…assuming the new dungeon is the final boss…i have too many characters to play and end to the story would be lovely right about now, before they release a new character…what would have made better sense, was instead of the awakening thing (yes i forgot what it’s called) release the 3rd job advance and then when you reach the final dungeon (assuming again) you get the awakening thing…but that’s just me and this has messed with my OCD a little bit, but i’ll get over it. But i believe this is needed and balance happens every week so that’s not going fix what’s already there.

They’re not sockets, they’re basically better and more customizable Heroic effects. You can have both El Tear effects AND sockets, so calling them sockets doesn’t make much sense.
This is good, after looking at the character’s new art, I am satisfied with what I saw! With the sole exception of CN, in her case, it is just too much done with her, I totally dig the wings and black theme, but her armor looks too rough and mean compared to CN’s outfit. Just too spiky for my tastes… I would’ve preferred something more streamlined rather than the battle armor she’s clearly wearing…

-Because Female Gunner was already the Nexon village bicycle and appeared in other Nexon games in the past.
-Because Rose doesn’t do anything that wasn’t already covered by characters already in Elsword, even if Female Gunner predates Elsword as a whole and did those things before Chung. (DC players in particular were livid. There was even fanart about it.)
-Because Elsword’s demographics have shifted after the ST Revamp led to a mass exodus and was replaced by new players that came in for Add and Lu which target demographics kMMOs don’t usually target. (Angsty teenagers and pedophiles.) Not the type of people who like boobs…..
-Because she was announced at a time where game balance was extremely fucked up and the players wanted KOG to try to fix the damn game. But nope! A new OP character to fuck things up some more!

sockets might get modded in PvP? ABOUT FUCKING TIME! I kept telling people that equipment is strong off both enhancement level AND sockets… or did people forget how broken maximize is, along with add dam and crit if you have them… get all 3 of those as high as you can, i bet your +8 starts feeling like a +10 or +11… and it’s worse if your weapon has higher enhancements…

They’re releasing the 3rd Jobs in three batches. (And apparently aren’t sticking to the “canon” classes all in the first batch. WS over GA, BM over RF, CN over CE, Chi/DL over RG/Nob.) Because the characters have three job paths.
…..But Rose has four job paths.

Crimson Rose and Freyja will probably be released at the same time.
It’ll be released with the last one i think, i don’t think they would want to release the four one later on it’s own, good chance it would be in the second batch release…but it’ll be in one of the 2 batches.

I had no expectations of chilliarc’s upgrade looking good, and I’m sure diablo’s will look bad too. I’m quietly amused by the irony of how the only acceptable lu is attached to the ciel-centric path, and somewhat disappointed by the fact that kog` was so married to the “focus on THIS one…” element that they don’t give you much to work with as lu on that path. (and I’m sure people who like dreadlord feel the same for ciel on that side of things. I don’t much care what people who like edgy zombie lu think.)
I don’t much care about the guys or el-sister (or that mysterious blank chunk of video between lu/ciel and the ‘everybody vs an eyeball monster’ spread), but I must snicker at how IP has failed to become any less the effeminate-looking chung path. Raven : I personally consider the White spot in his hair a complete error as it just Ruined character’s essence , still the rest of the ”armor” just looks like the 2nd job change so… is an ”Ok, you changed a Chair and now the full hall is messed up” (Blade was good too , but just good)
Eve : I completely like the new armor , but please , GIVE SHE A SKIRT OR SOMETHING ALREDY , FVCCCC , Also expected more for Moby and Remy

The 3rd Job announcement coming out of nowhere was a pretty transparent last ditch effort to draw attention to a failing game that most people are still trying to figure out as to how it’s still running after all the PR disasters it has had.
And what expectations do people actually have for the gameplay? Every character since Elesis has been pure copypaste. No unique skills, just different versions of already existing skills with new animations, if EVEN that. Elesis and Add were even blatantly advertised as Rule 63 Elbrat and Eve.
So yes, not showing gameplay is a defensive strategy. They want to trick people into logging on to show Daddy Nexon that the game is still going strong and that they shouldn’t pull the plug, and maybe consider hosting KurtzPel, it totally won’t end up like Aima! Honest!
They know the actual gameplay side of things can’t live up to the expectations. Especially not when it’ll be months before there’s new content to actually run with the new skills. Elsword will fall back down in the rankings after the third batch. Just like it fell down quickly after Edgelord Ain released.
Fuck, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Koreans at large have already become less interested after seeing the trailer for the same reasons we are~.

Took me the past few months to get Elsword working on my new laptop, I even submitted a ticket which got completely ignored. Ended up figuring it out myself in the end, just in time for 3rds.
