The skill's range is essentially a cylinder, not the sort of oval sphere the animation would suggest, making it rather tricky to aim well for hitting multiple enemies.
Despite the fact that Energy Spurt ignores defense, it does not ignore guard/knockdown.

Before the 11/03/2016 Korean patch, Energy Spurt's damage calculation was based on a formula which factored in the user's current level. The skill had a typical percent value damage as a base and a fixed amount would be added based on the formula: (Level² * 𝑥). Increasing the skill's level would increase the base Physical Damage as well as the value of 𝑥.
