Every character in Elsword has their own unique features that sets them apart from other characters.

Power (Disparate Force)

The bar below the MP bar is known as the Power Gauge. The bar will fill up when Ain is attacking or being attacked. When the gauge is full, his special system, Power will activate. Power has two modes: El's Power: Cycle MagicAinCycleIcon.png and Power of God: Creation Magic AinCreationIcon.png. When gaining Power, the default mode is known as El's Power: Circulating Magic. His two Power modes can be switched by pressing the [V] key (default key). only when the gauge is full. After the gauge is consumed, Power will no longer be active and you will switch back to El's Power: Circulating Magic. There is a cooldown of 3 seconds after switching.

Ain's appearance in Cycle Magic
  • Reduces the MP cost in 10% and cooldown in 30% of all skills (Marriage/Hyperactive Excluded).
  • Reduces the MP Cost of Mana Break.
  • Ain stats (except HP, Attack, and Defense) are increased by a certain percentage.
  • Power gauge is consumed every second
  • Can consume Power Gauge for an additional dash in mid-air.

  • When you use Command / Active attacks, additional hits without "flinch" activates.
    • Cast one of 3 afterimage attacks when using Physical commands/actives
      • Piercing Slash : 426% Physical Damage
      • Upper Slash : 384% Physical Damage (Ignores enemy defense)
      • Stab : 156% Physical Damage x3 (Always lands a critical hit)
    • Cast one of 3 projectile attacks when using Magical commands/actives
      • El's Bow : 180% Magical Damage x3
      • El's Spirit : 584% Magical Damage (Ignores enemy defense)
      • El's Spear : 238% Magical Damage x3 (Always lands a critical hit)
  • When you use Special active attacks, additional hits with "flinch" activates

Unlike other characters, Ain only has 1 bead for awakening, and will not receive a 20% damage bonus to his skills while in awakening. Once Ain awaken, his appearance and movement will change. He will also activates buffs depending on the phase of the awakening. Re-Awakening is possible when Ain is already in Awakening. The Awakening timer will increase and the buff timers will reset.

Even when not wearing the promo avatar, upon awakening you will gain the appearance of the awakened mode. However if you are wearing back accessories (Ex. Wings, capes), they will be displayed during the first and second stage of awakening.

Character Systems

Way of the Sword

When playing Elsword, there will be an additional bar below the mana gauge called Way of the Sword. This bar has 10 segments that, by default, contain 5 red Destruction slots and 5 blue Vitality slots, and depending on your actions, the bar will lean towards one color or 'aura' (from right to left for Destruction, from left to right for Vitality), replacing the other aura's slots. As long as an aura has at least one slot in the bar filled, you will receive special benefits depending on which aura you currently have active. The "Aura of Destruction" is selected by default, and you can switch between it and the "Aura of Vitality" by using the V key.

Depending on the type of skill you use, the bar will fill towards the right with blue Vitality slots or towards the left with red Destruction slots:

  • Flexibility/Tenacity skill: 1 slot
  • Strength skill: 2 slots
  • Bravery skill: 3 slots

Note that skills fill the slots contrary to their mode: vitality-based skills fill the bars with destruction slots; destruction-based skills fill the bar with vitality slots.

If the bar is filled completely by either aura's slots, the aura for the other mode will deactivate and you will enter a neutral stance with no benefits when it is toggled on, until at least 1 slot is re-gained for that mode. As such, the bar acts as a balancing mechanic so over-using one mode's skills can prevent that mode's aura from being active.
