Tactical Trooper

Specialty

Chung can now switch to Siege Shelling more often and can support his allies with mortars and by giving them MP. He also gains a new Siege Shelling mode in which he turns his cannon around and shoots from the other end. Doing so will increase the range and power of the shots.

Background

In his quest to further improve his weapon and abilities, Chung eventually turns up in his father’s workshop. He uncovers his father’s research on enhancing the Destroyer cannon that was drawn up before the elder defender of Hamel was possessed by demons. Chung uses the information as a guide, but he needs help to make it a reality.

Adel, the Ponggo mechanic from Altera, offers to help build the Disfrozen Portal, an engine that can generate boundless amounts of El energy for the Destroyer. With the help of Echo and Lento as well, the engine is completed in time. This development promises to take his skill to the next level and refine his strategic ability. Now known as the Tactical Trooper, he has come closer than ever to saving Hamel.

Second Class Advancement

Tactical Trooper can also be obtained by using the Cash Shop item: Trooper Tactics

At Lv35, Shelling Guardian can advance into Tactical Trooper. The second class advancement quest is obtained from Ariel, the event NPC located in every town.

After Chung executes the basic combo, he throws a grenade onto the ground which bounces back up, and smashes his targets with his cannon, reloading ammo, pushing them back to where the bounced up grenade is and switches to Siege Shelling stance. In PvE, the grenade can directly hit the target without bouncing back up.

Trivia

  • Like Shelling Guardian, Tactical Trooper's Freiturnier's appearance differs slightly from Chung's other 2nd job paths, Iron Paladin and Deadly Chaser.
    • Instead of just wearing a helmet, he also gains a machinery core on his chest and wings on his back.
      • The wings are an El-energy engine created with help of the Ponggo race, known as the "Disfrozen Portal." It is supposedly based on a combination of the research his father left and the ponggo's expertise in machinery.
  • Unlike all other characters, Chung's in-game model changes after the 2nd job advancement, having him grow much taller then before.
Going from even smaller than Aisha to only being shorter than Raven and Ara.
  • Upon advancing to a Tactical Trooper, the Red Shells Ammo Bar will be unlocked. However, this ammo can only be used after learning the passive Mobile Armored Mode.
    • Red shells can only be used for Reverse Siege.
    • Chung loads 1 red shell after every 2 standard shells (even without a target).
      • An alternate way of reloading the red shells is to use Tactical Field.
  • Like Shelling Guardian, Tactical Trooper has a secondary nickname that few refer to him, known as "Chungdam", as his Berserk Mode looks like a Gundam from any of the Gundam series.
  • Instead of the normal idle pose, the NPC and NPC Card for Tactical Trooper uses the same idle pose model from Deadly Chaser
  • In the NA server, when the NPC Card for Tactical Trooper is summoned, the name under the Automatic Mortar that he uses remains untranslated.
    • Contrariwise, in EU Server, the Automatic Mortar has been translated, but the Tactical Trooper name is still in Korean.
  • Tactical Trooper has a slightly edited alternate picture.
    • He is depicted frowning instead of smiling.
