You do not need to hit a target to convert spirit energy.
When striking the target, they will receive heavy hitstun, allowing you to continue your combos.
If you use this skill and your target dies, you will not gain an additional orb.
This skill actually deals 2 hits in total: an initial hit that deals zero damage (can only be seen in PvP) and the actual damage.

This is the first Awakened skill to actually change the skill's icon instead of retaining the original skill's icon.
