so while the character stat sheet says her defenses are a smooth 3/5 for physical and magical, Asura actually has the lowest natural defenses in the game. the vast majority of her suvivability comes from self healing during awakening triggered by relatively low combo score requirements, however, while the self healing threshold might be considered excessive this is a class with no reliable source of super armor, lengthy animations with no invulnerability frames, and naturally low ability to absorb large chunks of damage. If this is not the first character someone gets to the level cap then they probably already know that a sighting of an Asura at 99 is a very rare occurrence, and usually means you are carrying them as they will either die often or be too concerned with survival to do much more than token amounts of damage in a standard Erianode dungeon, regardless of their gear level.
Another thing to be aware of is Asura's terrible mana efficiency. without stacking MP on hit and specialization (B) (which is a pain since getting permanent up-time on awakening is already a requirement for this class, which means it cuts into maximize and crit, etc.) you will find yourself using a mana potion on cooldown just so you can trigger your very limited assortment of invulnerability skills when you need to avoid a hit that will probably kill you, outside of the 2 or 3 skills worth casting for damage (Fox fire is OP, i recommend putting it on your transcendence slot) most of her abilities are just to set up more damage either from her combos or over time (or to support the knew mama brahma class since Asura can maintain 3 stacks of bleed indefinitely) most of her skills (excluding individual chain skills, full chains are included) take 50% of her incredible 400 default mana pool or more, only lengthening the time it takes for her to chain into her next ability, and her combos are clunky or nonexistant, the only one I've found to do consistent and relevant dps is the XXvXZ~Z combo, which is also the only asura specific combo that grants super armor (if you make it to the Z portion)
(for reference my own Asura is level 99 with a 158 item level, sub 3k defense for magic, and 3,091 physical defense, 13.5% increases to attack/defense from all gear. she get's one shot in the water dragon sanctum by the bosses singular aoe attack. and please don't think that after this post I've been hating on asura, I absolutely love her story and aesthetic,  but after playing an empress and noblesse to the level cap and gearing them out with incredible ease comparatively, i just can't tolerate my Asura's playstyle anymore.
