Elsword là một kiếm sĩ trẻ tuổi đầy hoài bão nhưng nóng tính. Cậu được huấn được bởi chị mình là Elesis, thủ lĩnh của Red Mercenary Knights (Quân Đoàn Kỵ Sĩ Đỏ). Elesis đã rời bỏ em trai mình để đi thực hiện một nhiệm vụ, từ đó đã không bao giờ trở về. Elsword lên đường phiêu lưu để tìm kiếm 2 thứ: El ( viên đá quý giá đã cung cấp năng lượng cho vương quốc của cậu) và người chị mất tích của mình.
