Veteran Commander

Specialty

With a new Nasod arm, Raven is able to overheat more beyond limitations. This allow him to execute even more Fire-Blasting combos and skills. He also can cause enemies to ‘Bleed’, providing a strong Damage Over Time debuff. With Shadow Backslide, he is capable of shadow stepping in both directions to misdirect and evade enemies.

Background

Before his Nasod arm could overheat one too many times and fail him in battle, he approaches the Ponggos for their expertise in weapons.

They promptly send him out to collect rare materials for the repair: Ignis’s arm that blasts out nuclear flames, for greater firepower; the dark steel of Durahan Knight, for better heat resistance; and enchanted, mass-altering golem fragments, for making the usually heavy dark steel easier to carry. Gathering all these materials from such huge, dangerous monsters is clearly not simple, but Raven succeeds nonetheless.

The Ponggos complete the Nasod arm enhancement, and soon, Raven becomes the distinguished Veteran Commander—a temperamental yet compassionate leader of fighters.

Second Class Advancement

Veteran Commander can also be obtained by using the Item Mall item: Badge of the Crow Mercenaries.

At Lv35, Weapon Taker can advance into Veteran Commander. The second class advancement quest is obtained from Ariel, the event NPC located in every town.

Additional Combos

Image Description Damage

Air Bomb Raid
(Will overheat)
Raven jumps into the air, shoots out an explosive shell, and continues the combo with a barrage of shells at a 45 degrees range. The first shell he fires requires MP, and launches the target slightly. Repeatedly pressing the X key will fire shells repeatedly, causing overheat, with the last shell also launching the target. However pressing the X key only twice will fire the first shell and then another, both of which will launch the target, with no overheat. Should the shells come into contact with a platform they will leave a trail of fire momentarily, burning any targets they come in contact with. The shells will fizzle out and disappear if they travel far enough without contact, however flames still appear where they would hypothetically land. A maximum of 10 shells can be fired in one volley.

Sword Flame Thrower
(Requires overheat)
After executing the standard >>ZZ combo, Raven spins around, striking the target with his claw and blasts flames from his palm. Requires overheat to use at all; attempting to do so without enough HP will cause instant recoil. Hold the button to both start and continue spraying flames.
