Only 40 points are needed for Stage 2, and Stage 3 only needs 80 points.
I honestly can't believe I'm actually doing this, but [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTp9LmgJAi8 this video] shows that it does indeed advance the Awakening Stage based on the Seed's level and isn't just what Stage you enter upon the initial Awakening (I recorded it today, btw). Awakening Stage Effect
