It's possible this may be a bug. I got 3 separate instances of 3 Max MP from Red Shining Mystic Stones in very close proximity. My initial assumption was that the specializations had be changed, but with the knowledge of someone else having gotten a 5 from a middle-grade mystic stone of the same color, it sounds like the yields for Shining/Refined/Common may have gotten flipped for Red Mystic Stones.
