More often than not, only 8 or even 7 spears will fire instead of the intended 9.
- This is caused by the skill having an unmentioned duration rather than a hit limit, which starts counting the moment the skill is activated. If any latency causes the magic circle to appear slightly later than the activation of the skill, the magic circle will still disappear after the skill's own duration ends.
Shadow Bolt doesn't work if there are no enemies. However, instead of telling you that there are no enemies, Lu will still cast the skill as if there are, which causes Lu to be stuck in the casting stance for about 2-3 seconds without firing any spears.
This skill is extremely lag-sensitive and several issues may occur in such an event:
- The magic circle may not appear, but the spears will still fall, making it difficult to determine the exact location of their origin point.
- The circle may 'jam' and moving it will become difficult.
- The screen may freeze in place and will not follow the circle as the player moves it, similarly to Hell Drop.
