Socketing Equipment
Socketing Equipment
In Elsword, many equipment (Avatar, Weapons and Armors) contain sockets, which can be socketed with certain gems to add special effects to the equipment. These can range from increase in Critical Hit Rate to an increase in Element Resistance.
Guide
1) Open your inventory menu (i) and click on the 2nd button to the left (It has a gem icon).
2) Click on the equipment you wish to socket.
3) A new window opens, showing the item's sockets. The amount of sockets your armor/weapon has depends on its rarity. The more rare the equipment is, the more slots it will have.
4) To use a socket, drag the gem you wish to use onto the gray box and click on the button on the bottom right of the window.
5) You have now socketed your equipment! Repeat if you want different stats/higher values.
You can only socket gems if you have sufficient ED. This amount needed is shown in the box at the bottom of the window.
The higher the upgrade level the higher the chance of obtaining higher values.
Common (White name) - Weapon: 1 socket Armor: 1 socket Uncommon (Yellow name) - Weapon: 2 sockets Armor: 1 socket Elite (Purple name) - Weapon: 3 sockets Armor: 2 sockets Unique (Beige name) - Weapon: 4 sockets Armor: 3 sockets
Gems to socket equipment
In order to socket equipment, you must have certain gems. They range from basic ones to stat specific gems. Basic gems give a random effect to an equipment, whereas stat specific gems give a certain effect depending on the gem used.
Basic Gems
Name | Description | Image |
---|---|---|
Magic Stone | Gives equipment a random stat, ranging from high to low. |
|
Advanced Magic Stone | Gives equipment a random stat, with a greater chance of getting higher values. |
Stat Specific Gems
Dual Stat Gems
These are special gems that give TWO effects on ONE socket. They can be made via the Alchemist.
Acquirable stats
These are the stats you may get from socketing equipment.
Please note that in new version, stat values are nerfed or increases based on character level. Sockets in equipment have fixed values except sockets in Ice Burners.

Obtaining Stat Specific and Dual Stat Gems
These gems can be crafted at the Alchemist NPCs, purchasable from the Free Market, or obtainable during certain events. They require materials to craft them. Stat Specific gems require 2 Magic Stones and 4 Advanced Magic Stones. Be warned, the Stat specific gem you get is RANDOM. To craft Dual Stat Gems, they require Bethbites found only in 2-x, 3-x, 4-x, and 5-x or the Free Market.
