Night Watcher

Specialty

After Rena received the enhanced Erendil, she is now able to execute quicker sword combos. She can also change some of her arrows into "Twig" arrows that explode on impact. All old combos involving the original Erendil are changed to the enhanced Erendil.

Background

Rena has been serving the 'Night Savers' as a personal trapping ranger for a long time now. After receiving a mission from the Ponggos, asking the Night Savers to help them investigate a kidnapping in Altera, Rena was dispatched to investigate the case. She finds out that the one behind the kidnapping was King Nasod of Altera Core. She turned to go back, as her mission had ended with that piece of information, but as a good friend of the Ponggos, she could not turn her back on them. With her colleagues who had been through battles with her, she defeated King Nasod and rescued the kidnapped Ponggos. In gratitude, the weaponmakers of Altera newly forged the Erendil, which was broken in the battle with King Nasod, into a longer, more powerful magical sword and presented it to Rena.

"I'm strong enough to protect more people now."

Stern and gentle, people started to call this beautiful elven warrior, the "night" that executes evil.
Thus Rena was dubbed as a guardian of Elrios, a Night Watcher.[1]

Second Class Advancement

Night Watcher can also be obtained by using the Item Mall item: Badge of the Night Watcher.

At Lv35, Trapping Ranger can advance into Night Watcher. The second class advancement quest is obtained from Ariel, the event NPC located in every town.

Additional Combos

Image Description

Sword Switch

A new combo, where Rena kicks the target and switches to sword combat. The new combo involves Rena to strike 3 times with her sword, knocking the enemy away on the final hit. Vital Point Piercing affects this combo. This combo is slower then Trapping Ranger's normal ZZZZZ combo, but the damage output is higher.

Gliding Kick

Stopping after running, Rena dashes forward and leaps, kicking twice and knocking enemies away. Needs good timing.
Can be looped to run forward faster.E.g:>>[pause]>[pause]>repeat.

[How to perform.]

Fun Fact: When doing the 2nd dash, if you don't jump, Rena will sprint forward and almost fall.

Twig Shots

A change of shots, Rena now can shoot 'Twigs' that do not knock down instead of arrows in some of her combo. This changes XX(X)X, ZZZ(X), >>(X) and >>^(X). Upon impact, the 'Twig' will explode and cause damage to surrounding victims. Shooting target that have the Delayed Fire skill will add the amount of stacks on it.

Trivia

  • Night Watcher is the first female class in the game to use a sword.
  • Night Watcher and Trapping Ranger are the only classes to use more than two types of combat: physical kicks, a ranged weapon, and a melee weapon.
    • These classes are also similar to Chloe, who is also an elf and uses all three aforementioned forms of combat.
