Puppet - The doll controlled by strings.
  • Slashing Attack: the doll will swing its blade in a short range, dealing massive amounts of damage and pushing targets back on the last hit.
  • Chase: the puppet will gain a dark purple aura and keep following you, inflicting hitstunning continuous damage within.
  • Resurrection: the doll will resurrect a total of 3 times with different amounts of HP: 120 bars at first, then 75 bars, then finally with only 45. It will also deal 10% more damage per stage (+10% at stage 2, +20% at stage 3, and +30% at stage 4).

Note:

  • Puppet is the target that must be defeated.
  • The Puppet deals a lot of damage, so it is recommended to either avoid its attacks or enter the boss room with enough of defensive stats.
  • It is recommended to use Loquats or have a teammate provide Super Armor to the party during the boss fight due to continuous doll's attacks inflicting hitstun and Puppet Master's background fist attacks.
  • The boss has 3  FreezeFreeze and 1 PetrifyingPetrifying ticks, so a proper use of those is highly recommended to avoid patterns.
    • In addition, the puppet has high amounts of Water and Light Resistance, so the debuffs will last much shorter, unless you can somehow decrease its Elemental Resistances, e.g. via skills like High Tide or accessory effects like Mark of Inferno.
Puppet Master - The master peeking in whose hands control the theater.
  • Fist Slam: Puppet Master will perform a punching attack from the background, dealing moderate damage. This attack happens throughout the entire dungeon.
  • Puppet Cage: Puppet Master will imprison a random party member in a cage on puppet strings. The cage can be destroyed by other party members only via Command/Active skills. A caged individual can still take damage from the puppet, and thus can be killed with no way to dodge.
  • Rage System: Continuously using skills in this territory will enrage Puppet Master. The current rage meter can be checked in top middle of one's screen, below the default location of status effect indicators.
    • If the meter reaches 100, Puppet Master gives out a random order to the affected individual in the form of a debuff that lasts 5 seconds, including actions such as "only move left/right", "jump", "do not use commands/skills/potions", "do not use dash", or "do not move". The order will be indicated by a yellow warning below the rage bar.
      • Should you fail the order, Puppet Master applies a debuff that continuously depletes your HP by 40% and MP by 200 (per second) for a short period.
    • The meter will fill up depending on the skill tier used and constantly decrease by 3 points per second.
      • [Active] skills will not have any effect on the bar.
      • [Special Active: Tenacity]: +10 points
      • [Special Active: Strength]: +15 points
      • [Special Active: Bravery]: +20 points
      • [Hyper Active] skills will cleanse the entire bar.
      • [Master Skills] will deplete the bar depending on the stage used.
        • Stage 1: -40 points
        • Stage 2: -60 points
        • Stage 3: -80 points
        • Stage 4: -100 points
    • The system changes in the boss room:
      • The rage bar will no longer be visible, Puppet Master will give out orders to you randomly instead.
        • The yellow warning is now less descriptive, so you have to check the debuff's icon or the status effect's tooltip to see what exactly the order is.
      • One can receive multiple orders at once.
      • Failed orders do not give you a debuff that depletes HP/MP anymore, instead they apply another debuff that stacks up to 3 times.
      • If 3 stacks of the debuff are reached, Puppet Master kills you instantly.

Note:

  • Puppet Master cannot take damage but attacks from the background.
  • The rage meter can only be changed in 1.5-second intervals, meaning it is more lenient to characters with fast skills, though this also applies to Master and Hyper Active skills, so you need to wait a while before using them in order to properly cleanse.
  • If the party lacks Command/Active damage, it is best to let the Puppet kill the caged party member, as dying and resurrecting might turn out faster than trying to free them.
  • You can avoid failed order one-shot attacks with any Resurrection-type Skills and Titles, as they only deal one hit.

Trivia
{{
  • This dungeon is a puppet show retelling on the events of Sander. It features story book vignettes of each of its four current dungeons, and the enemies are cardboard representations of the monsters that roam that region.
    • Fittingly, the dungeon's main theme is a remixed version of Trock's Lair's theme.
