About The Seal

I think it's possible that the seal changes shape as the two of them obtain more power as they advance through the classes, and the reason why the shapes are different in each path is because they get different powers.

-While that may be possible, the orange gem embedded into the various hair decorations remains relatively consistent in shape and colour (sometimes it's a bit bigger, most noteably for Apsara's flower clip) but it stands to reason that that stone is what seals Eun; It's much less of a stretch to assume Ara just clips the stone into a new hair decoration when she changes into her new 1st/2nd/3rd clothes, than it is to assume it morphs into the different accessories. --ED Senne (talk) 22:40, 5 February 2018 (UTC)

Ara's appearance prior to joining the party

"Prior to the early game Epic Quest rework, Ara would appear in the Feita and Velder CGI clear cutscenes, though this was never referenced in the Epic Quest dialogue, and was ultimately just a mistake."

So although I understand where this is coming from, I don't think it's a mistake. I mean KoG developers themselves have said that Ara crossed paths with the el search party before, there was even a trivia that noted this claim. So even though nothing suggests Ara ever appearing before Hamel, I can't help but think that this was done on purpose. After all, until add was released, no other character had appeared in the main story prior to joining before. I feel like the cgi is more of a "oh hey did ya know that ara was there too lol" kind of deal and doesn't really have any relevance to the story other than that. Kinda like how it is never mentioned in dialogue that raven and elesis met before, or how luciel and raven met. I don't even think Lu and ciel being in hamel was mentioned either. Information like that you always get from outside sources specifically made or stated by KoG themselves

- I dun really remember devs said that. Please prove that KOG dev themselves said that Ara crossed paths with elgang. --LeoShironsaki (talk) 08:28, 14 March 2022 (CET)

- Besides, even if they made that "excuse" before, even back then it was never alluded to outside of the CGI scene at all, and is very squarely non-canon nowadays when looking at her animated job PV's. They all share the fact that until she sailed to Hamel, she never left the northern empire. There'd be no room for her to get all the way to Feita and back. I can't really buy that its noncanon easily (though I won't deny that it probably is). First in foremost, we don't know the time setting of the clear videos. What is shown is the area's she's been to, and when/where she job changes, never the in betweens. Specifically for Aspara who is the canon class, we see her in the Northern Empire, and to say she never left would be an assumption because she travels to hamel via boat who's structural design looks similar to velders (ofc it still might be a xin kingdom boat but the possibility is still there), plus I can only assume she did not ride the same boat as the party since they left promptly to help hamel. Additionally its rather interesting that we do not see the place she became 2nd job but afterwards. We know that it takes a year between 1st job and 2nd job. In that time Ara could've easily went to Feita sometime after being 1st job considering thats where the demons first appeared on elrios, and since she's looking for her brother, it is the most likely place she'd be (They also explicitly refrain from showing any details on her location in 2nd job aside from trees). Even in Surya's clear video where she's facing Victor in the northern empire, there could still be a significant amount of time in between him being there and him being in hamel because he's the one that made hamel flood in the first place...allegedly.

I'm not fighting for the continuity of the clear videos as things have been retconned before, but calling it a mistake due to it never being mentioned seems like a massive oversight to me and could give people the wrong idea. As I've noted before, there are things in canon that has never been addressed via in-game dialogue. Elesis meeting Raven, Luciel meeting Raven, Elesis meeting chloe, vanessa giving add his own lab for his help against the demons. All this although dated information, came from outside sources supplied by translators such as 2nafish (except the add part), and there's probably more out there. Authors always add details that were never stated or hinted at in their stories such as JK Rowling (and though it might not make sense or is incredibly stupid, they're the one's who created the story, so they have the final say). Even if its currently noncanon, the fact of the matter is that KoG intended Ara to have crossed paths with the party, therefore it's not a mistake but a purposeful inclusion that is either retconned, forgotten, ignored, hidden, or unneeded.
