Actually, both Richter and Opferung mention their authorities changing from Ishmael to Elria as well (Richter's is mentioned in his path video and Opferung's is mentioned in his class backstory). Richter simply continues doing what he believes Ishmael wants him to do while Opferung tries to get Ishmael's attention by destroying everything.

Edit: Oh, Richter's is also mentioned in part 5 of his Class Advancement. I legit forgot about that.
