The Tongue of Elrios
Header

Hello, Kenny here. Sorry for the inconvenience, but ever since the server updated, babel comics hasn’t been working properly and I’ve been trying to fix it but to no avail. For now I’ve uploaded all the comics onto one zip file so you can still read the comics.

Edit: Babel comics is now back up with a new comic system! I’ve also put all the ElType comics there. Enjoy.

A big round of applause to our new Korean translator, Cissnei!

About Me:
I study economics at the University of Edinburgh and I want to marry Renaaaaaaaaa!!!

We’re all very glad to have you aboard.

Also, Gwenny Chiffoniataeko Marikake, our site owner (better known as Kenny in some spheres) will now be doubling as an English Editor. Yaaaaaaaay. (Seriously, though, all of you need to start calling him by his formal name from now on. Because it is so pretty! Like me! I am so pretty!)

Next?

In an unorthodox move, we have decided on two separate winners, one for the Banner and one for the Logo. Each winner will receive 25m, payable by LuzCeleste (for the winners, please make arrangements to catch her in-game ASAP! She will be in contact with you soon.)

Without further ado, here are our winners!

LOGO by Sylence

Our team really enjoyed the classic feel of this logo. Very comic-like to reflect the origins of Elsword, and done in the traditional colors of Elsword – good job to Sylence!

BANNER by Sennyu:

Our team loved the black-tie spy theme of this banner! The Babel team only wishes they could be as cutting-edge and cool as Elsword, Eve and Aisha in this banner.

Finally, an honorable mention. While TrickArt won’t be receiving any prize, I wanted to showcase the amazing submission we got!

Banner/Logo by TrickArt:

We were impressed by how well the colors and lightning blended, as well as the art style of the stock images. That’s some skillful blending there! (I laughed at the logo too)

We were also impressed by the logo that Sennyu sent in, but it unfortunately didn’t make the final cut:

But still, so cute!

Thank you to all of the entrants. We were really stunned by the high quality of the submissions we got this time around. Congratulations to the winners, as well!

Thank you for all of your submissions to the Banner and Logo Contest! We are currently deliberating on the results, and will announce a winner this weekend!

Thank you for all of your support up to date! Babel has proven to be immensely popular, amassing viewcounts far beyond our initial expectations. We are thrilled at this, and we hope to continue to offer you our valuable services in the future.

However, thanks to the growing popularity of Babel – and the sustained popularity of ElWiki – we now need your help in keeping our servers up. Currently, our site owner, Kenny, pays for the majority of the hosting on a monthly basis for ElWiki and Babel, out of his own paycheque. Unfortunately, since Babel has been such a resounding success, we are desperately in need of a server upgrade. If you have noticed the server has been constantly crashing at times, and this is due to the bandwidth problems that we have been having from the increased load of viewers.

Furthermore, Babel is trying to expand, which is currently not possible under the current c0nstraints. We want to begin to offer the following services, but we cannot until we upgrade to a bigger server:

  • Translation Ticketing System – Send in your KR screenshots and get them translated within 24 hours!
  • Talk to the Pros Ticketing System – We will recruit one KR pro of each character to field your questions within 48 hours!
  • Upgrade of Babel to an English/Korean/Chinese website
  • More comics – in particular, we hope to translate all of Evil00000’s comics!
  • More guides from the top players in KR
  • A more professional and refined looking theme!

Thus, I hope you can support us in our endeavors. If you’ve enjoyed the Wiki and Babel up to this point, please support us so we can keep it going, and so we can continue to provide you with the updates that you need!

To donate, simply click on the pledgie badge linked in this post. Our goal is $100, which will pay for the server – any excess will be used to buy the translators a nice gift, as they often work overtime. For instance – to translate the Event Page yesterday so everyone playing KR would be aware of the free +8 Scroll, 2na called in to be 30 minutes late to work!

Letter to Vita in 2000FUN.com

Dear 2000FUN Forum Member Vita,

It has come to my attention that you has leapt on some Babel content that I posted a few weeks ago to defame and insult my dear friend Vivaciou (URL: http://www.2000fun.com/thread-5048395-1-1.html). Since you are stupid enough to believe the laughable quality of translation from Google Translate, I thought I would just take the liberty of clarifying some things for you.

First of all, I wrote that “About Me” as a joke, as anyone who has the slighest understanding of the English language would get, because Vivaciou has been very busy with her summer courses lately – as she actually has a life. Which is more I can say about you morons, as your favorite past-time seems to be insulting teenage girls behind the safety of your own computer screens.

While it’s absolutely true that the best VP in Korea – and not only her, but many people in the KR community – considers Vivaciou the top Void Princess in the Gaia Server in Korea, Vivaciou herself is extremely modest and considers herself highly unskilled. Thus, I purposely threw in that statement to poke fun at her as a friend, because I knew she would be embarrassed by me making that characterization public.

At the same time, she IS legimately skilled. She’s spent the past four years constantly bettering herself – not because she has anyone to impress, or because she wants to be famous, but rather, because she enjoys the game and considers it a personal challenge. You claim that apparently 행운의2달러 and I carry her in 3:3 PvP. Guess what? I lose almost every legimate 3:3 without her on my team. And whenever 행운의2달러 and I play with her, she ends up getting the bulk of kills. Yet, she has never boasted about her skill, only seeing ways she is lacking and only seeking ways to improve. No wonder her friends like to poke fun at her for how skilled, yet modest she is.

Furthermore, I also see you’ve posted that video of Vivaciou versus the PvP NPC Noah, and referenced the fact that she was taking little damage from the NPC as “proof” that she relies on “100% gear and 0% skill”. Guess what? That just proves you lack any knowledge of this game. PvP NPCs suffer absurdly from damage reduction, to the point that 30% from ANY character is sufficient to render every attack 1 damage. Her gear is absolutely not uncommon at the levels we play at. In fact – she’s undergeared. She uses a +9 in a server where +10 and +11 is routine – meaning she constantly holds her own against players with 90% more weapon attack than her, with the ability to one shot her.

Finally? You really think that the fact that she didn’t publically thank me in her videos is proof that she’s an abrasive and impolite person? Please, find some actual material to base your rumors and gossips off of. For what it’s worth, she DID thank me for her time. And even if she didn’t, would it really matter? She’s a fantastic friend on all counts, and none of us mind doing favors for her.

Overall, you rightfully all ought to be ashamed of yourself. Vivaciou is one of the sweetest young girls I know. Moreover, she has worked very hard in bringing the latest information from Korea to the international community – for YOUR benefit, not her own. Are you all that insecure that you would desperately jump upon the tiniest scrap of evidence to “prove” that Vivaciou has no skill, that Vivaciou has a bad personality, that Vivaciou’s reliant on her equipment? I’m so sorry that you are so lacking in ability that you’re THIS desperate to prove to yourselves that you’re better than her. She simply wants to play the game to have fun; you seem to play the game for the sole reason of proving that you’re superior.

Congratulations, Vita. You have throughly embarrassed yourself on the international stage, and proven that you are petty, gossip-obssessed, bitter trolls who jump to conclusions over the tiniest jokes in attempt to bring others down. Do you really take this much satisfaction in trying to ruin the game for others?

I know who in Korea orchestrated this farce, and I will personally ensure that if you ever touch my friend again, the entirety of the server – whether Korean, English or Chinese – will know of how pathetic you are. I will abuse every connection I have to ensure that your gaming experience is ruined – an adequete taste of your own medicine, if I might say.

Get the hell out of my website, and never insult Vivaciou again.

Sincerely,
Conspire

Our newest service Babel Comic is ready to launch! We have uploaded all of the previous KR comics from Windy and MagicHand, plus the Dimension Witch and Infinity Sword comics. To check them out, simply click on the “Comics” link at the header above.

This is also a good time to introduce our new Chinese/English translators, ChungES and Lachesiss, who will be working on translating Chinese comics from the very famous fan-artist Evil00000 into English! We will also be expanding into Taiwanese once we have the resources to do so, so give them a warm welcome!

Finally, I would just like to thank all of you for your support with Babel so far. Babel’s reception has been amazing, far surpassing our expectations, with incredible viewcounts from the very first day. However, this also means that as we expand our services and continue to provide you with accurate, up-to-date translations, we will need your support in paying for our server: already, we are close to reaching the capacity for our server. Please keep your eyes peeled for a donation drive soon; depending on the results of the donation drive, we may or may not need to add ads. As you can imagine, we would prefer not to detract from the Babel experience with constant annoying ads – and in particular, pop-ups if the need for money gets bad enough – so we strongly urge you to donate once the drive is up to keep Babel’s services open to all!

I am so pretty!

Welcome to Babel!

Welcome to Babel, your new frontline source for Korean Elsword translations!

For some time now, the quality of Elsword HQ’s translations have been dropping immensely. The turning point came with Elsword HQ’s complete inability to translate an event notice that turned out to be one of the most profitable event in Korean Elsword’s history, causing the entire English community to miss out on potential earnings of possibly billions of ED per person. Following this gaffe, the super pretty and generous Conspire decided to step in to create a new partnership between his Korean connections and Elsword HQ to ensure that English-speaking players would never again be at a loss for translations.

The end result was the website you see now: Babel. We will be working to provide you with up-to-date and immediate translations of patch notices, event notices, changes in KR policy and so forth. As an on-going project, we also intend to take on other aspects of interest – storyline translations, common Korean phrases, etc. Finally, we will also strive to generate original content that would otherwise be inaccessible to the average North American player – for instance, interviews with and guides from the top Korean players.

Without further ado, I introduce you to our (growing) team!

I am so pretty!

About Me:
I have 3 billion in Korean Elsword ED and I need to give it all to Conspire because he is my BFF and Conspire did not write this for me because I was too distracted to. The best Void Princess in Korea considers me the best VP in Gaia, but I constantly put myself down because I am a derp like that. Also, I lag too much to even use the zz>z combo in PvP and like to hit people out of Conspire’s Energy Spurts with my lag. Lagger.
