Elsword: Time Trouble Volume 4 chapter 4 Translation

May 23rd, 2016 | Posted by 2nafishisgood in Light Novel | Lore

Okay I miscalculated and couldn’t finish chapter 5.

Chapter 5 in itself is around hour of work but I do skim over the entire volume to do checkup whenever I finish a volume. So I thought I’ll post chapter 5 together with the full volume 4 pdf. (I’ll also post chapter 5 only in wordpress as well). Getting this done won’t take all week and I’ll probably post it earlier than next monday.

Think of chapter 5 as an epilogue.

What an interesting part. I was not expecting Helputt to make an appearance. What worries me about him is that if he is going to appear in Velder, does that mean they are going to have to handle him and Elesis at the same time?

Hellput really didn’t die. I knew that somehow Ran still gonna be around since reading the sypnosis of volume 5 but didn’t think they would add Hellput in to be the one to save Ran. That’s both a twist and not a twist at the same time considering the story in the game. Well, look like the battle in volume 5 gonna be interesting, especially the fact that BM gonna appear which I bet he is currently the most OP character in the story. Heck, the guy even taught SK into LK in the original so we have a high chance to see Elsword finally turn into LK in the next one. But somehow, for me, judging by how this novel goes, the very moment TT turn into DiE, is the time it will be reveal he was the true antagonist all this time. Just a guess.

If Raven is going to appear, then I have a theory how the battle in Velder might turn out. My guess is that the team is going to split into two groups.

Group A: Elboy, Rena, Raven, and Ara
Group B: Eve, Chung, and Add

Group A teams up against Elesis. Elboy charges at her as a front lines attacker, Rena takes care of range support, Ara keeps the pressure on her to counter her healing factor, and Raven assists Ara doing a similar task while also covering for Elboy as needed.

Group B teams up against Helputt. Chung takes front lines, attacking his father directly, Add provides range support and handles overall real time strategy, and Eve functions as a middle balance between Chung and Add, helping the team tank attacks, dealing high burst damage, and helping Add attack from afar.

My guess is that the outcome of this is going to be that Elesis and Helputt are defeated, and Helputt is restored back to his former self and he helps defend Velder against the remaining demons.

Elesis is harder to predict, since she isn’t a demon and therefore can’t be changed the same way. She will either admire the strength of the group and her brother’s progress and decide to reform to join up with them, or she will end up fleeing Velder.

An alternate outcome I can think of is that Elboy will end up needing more help to beat her, and he will use his ring to summon Aisha. After Elesis’s defeat, Aisha could give her another of the Time and Space memory El fragments, and she will end up using it to change to Grand Master, restoring her to her original personality.

I doubt they’d split up. The El gang has that “United we stand divided we fall” thing going on (thanks America). Despite this, I’m certain they’ll meet Karis in Velder since that’s were Ran told her to go. And with the addition to Raven (thanks for the spoilers), they’re melee combat is even more powerful than before. Helputt will obviously have immense defense so I think that’s a good moment for BM to appear with his amazing speed and swordsmanship. Then maybe they’ll meet up with Karis only for her to flee due to her being bored or intrigued or whatever crap she has going for her, and then Elesis, who’s strength is unknown but is noted to be stronger than ran. So possibly LK upgrade to defeat her? Cause you know, Elesis has fast reaction time and judgement, speed, and power going for her. Elesis can dodge the arrows but Ara can catch up to her speed, and with BM who swings fast, she’ll has to also use her dark energy/firepower to defend with an addition to Elsword who is a heavy hitter. And if she tried to attack back, Eve and Add will attack to disrupt her, with Chung and Rena protecting team melee from her attacks. That does remind me that Elesis has some range attacks so she can cover distance. It pretty much depends on how strong exactly did Elesis get

The problem is that we already know that Elesis is stronger than everyone combined right now, and in particular she would have no problem killing Add before he had a chance to react. She was already able to do so as Dark Knight, and now she’s the much more powerful Crimson Avenger.

But it’s not just Elesis they have to worry about in Velder, Helputt is also guaranteed to be there. Ran and Karis could also make an appearance as you noted, in addition to Chloe who isn’t dead yet either.

They could beat Ran if they worked together, in addition to Chloe who is weaker than him. Karis already showed her superiority over the search party however, and Helputt is stronger than Chung, who likewise singlehandedly was able to pressure them before he joined.

There is no way in hell that they are going to beat Elesis, Ran, Karis, Helputt and Chloe at the same time however. Even the group from the official timeline couldn’t handle that many enemies of that level of strength at the same time, and they were all stronger by this point.

The only way they could possibly stand a chance would be if Raven turns out to be unbelievably powerful beyond anything we have seen so far, which would seem almost fanfic levels of stupid. This series has been better than that so far, so I don’t see that happening. He’s at best around Rena’s level, and she’s only been particularly amazing against the weaker opponents.

Therefore, the only way I can imagine them surviving this would be if they split up to handle the enemies in more manageable chunks. Keep in mind that this isn’t the first time they have done such a thing, they split up in Feita as well as in the early battle of Velder last time they were there before they met Elesis.

    Thank you very much :D

So again, why did Elesis join the other side?

    • Anon says:

This is currently unknown. Her behavior is wildly out of character so far. Tidbits available from Aisha and Elboy’s memories imply that she was not always like this. She used to have a personality closer to what we would call Saber Knight/Grandmaster, but then from Aisha we learn that the two of them had disagreements about things and went their separate ways. From Elboy we learn that her body was the only one not found when an incident happened that left the entirety of the Red Knights she commanded slaughtered without mercy. The implication being that she changed rather suddenly and betrayed them.

I do have a small theory about this however. Due to Add’s reckless time traveling, the Elboy in this timeline is a bit older than he should be. Add himself noticed it after one of his time travels back in Elder. Because of this jump up in age, Elboy is a Sword Knight instead of Base class.

Because Elboy is older, that means that Elesis would have trained him at an earlier point in time. Indeed, she might be similarly effected and be older herself. It’s hard to say if her age was effected since Add didn’t meet her until after Elboy’s age increased.

Because Elboy’s training would have been earlier, she would have left him alone sooner to grow better on his own. This explains how she knew the time traveling Aisha and formed the Red Knights so quickly.

Because Elboy wouldn’t have been around to help her in the fight against Scar, Scar could have easily chosen a moment to attack her while she was totally alone. Without Elboy around to help her, Elesis might have been badly wounded in her confrontation against Scar. Instead of finishing her off however, he might have proposed an offer to her: If she decided to work for D, then she would be spared and granted power beyond what she was capable of currently.

Alternatively, she might have been taken less willingly, and then mind washed until what was left of her old self was replaced.

At least, this is my theory. It’s what makes sense to me, and what most closely seems to follow one of the themes of Add’s adventure here: That reckless time traveling can result in changes in the timeline that can lead to less favorable outcomes.

In particular, it seems that when he travels backwards in time, he creates a ripple effect that messes with the timeline both forward and backward from the moment he traveled from. Traveling from the same moment over and over and over enhances the strength of the ripples, creating more and more noticeable changes that travel even further backward and forward.
