Elsword: Time Trouble volume 4 chapter 4 part 1 translation

May 16th, 2016 | Posted by 2nafishisgood in Uncategorized

Chapter 4 is in 2 parts because it’s a bit large.

But Chapter 5 is rather small so next update should complete volume 4.

So Ara didn’t fully become a demon after all. Though, it seems as though she’s not going to be able to return to the group. Assuming Ran can keep his promise however, this does make things a bit easier for the search party. Not having to worry about Ran for a while gives the remaining members time to grow stronger so they can deal with Elesis and Karis. When the time comes that Ran can’t afford to hold back anymore, That could be when Ara is forced to make a mature emotional decision and awakens.

I worry about their ability to handle Elesis without Ara though. Even when Elesis was only first job, Ara was in a key position of pressuring her. She was quick enough to keep up with Elesis so that she could counter her healing factor with a steady stream of attacks. Now not only is Elesis much stronger, but Ara seems to not want to be with the group for a while to keep Ran in check.

This places the party in a position of a double edged sword where they don’t have to worry about Ran for a while, but they lose a key member in their strategy to take on Elesis. They also do not currently have a strategy to counter Karis’s power, and Ara was the only one quick enough to save someone if they were in danger against her.

It’s a rather strange situation. It’s hard to say whether Ran shirking his duties for a while is worth losing a key member in those fights. It is possible Ara could squeeze some more information out of him though, the more she can tell the party when/if she rejoins about this D individual and what the demons are planning, the better off they will be.

I doubt the gang will leave without Ara. They’re stubborn and had already made up they’re mind that they are going to rescue her. I see the situation as a possible fight between Ara and the group and then the group including Ara against Ran. I mean hell, maybe Elsword will turn into LK considering how he lost his sister and might lose Ara too. Or Ara into SD when facing the gang or Ran. And weren’t the gang somewhat divided while facing Karis? Rena, the primary long range attacker, and Eve who along side Add does Mid support. They both had to help the Red Knights. So the gang wasn’t all together and due to that Add had to exert himself to protect Chung, Ara, and Elsword along with himself. And it sounded like Eve’s Atomic Shield had no problem protecting everyone so if they had all been together, who knows. Maybe they would of been a lot more difficult to defeat

It’s hard to say. Ara seems content to stay with her brother for now, and doesn’t possess the willpower to fight him. I see it being more likely that she tries to negotiate the others to let her stay than letting them persuade her to try to leave, especially with her worries of Ran attacking them and countless others if she tries to leave.

It’s also hard to say how much effort Karis was really putting into her attack. She definitely didn’t seem to be going all out. She also seems smart enough not to use the same strategy twice, so in a repeat encounter she would likely change things up enough to shatter their expectations and render their strategy plans useless.

It’s Elesis I worry about above all though. At this time nobody aside from Eve has advanced from the El, and the only new party member is Chung. Meanwhile, Elesis who was already stronger than everyone combined has job advanced, and had time to get used to the new level of power she has ascended to. What makes her especially scary is her motivations. She is working for the demons, but isn’t a demon herself. This seems to imply that she is working as some kind of paid mercenary or just really enjoys killing things. It’s also implied that she became like this rather suddenly. She could easily be stronger than both Ran and Karis right now, and her motivations are the hardest to determine. She’s not only dangerous, she’s unpredictable.

There are two pathways I can imagine being taken that lead to the fall of Elesis. The first is that Raven joins the group and takes Ara’s place as the speedy attacker that keeps her pressured, and Chung assists Rena with the job of support. Elboy would also need to be Lord Knight at this time.

The other possibility is that by some miracle Add manages to job advance to Diabolic Esper before that fight and somehow retains the majority of his sanity in the process. Diabolic Esper is described in lore as being capable of destroying whole worlds in various timelines, so someone like Elesis would at best be a good challenge, at worst an ant to be crushed under his heel. The rest of the search party assisting him in the attack would be overkill for her to deal with.

This series has done a good job of being unpredictable however, so I am prepared for both those options to prove incorrect.

So a Demonified not fully Ara gonna fight the El Gang next but the so call friendship gonna help Ara change back then they gonna fight Ran and somehow beat him but he escape. <—- Is this how the story will go later on I wonder? And judging from how BM finally make an appearance in Volume 5, I guess that SK will still stay as so till next volume to go LK?
