So let’s recap. Said LuCiel 3rd path release this last month…didn’t happen. New raid boss and deletion of the other raid bosses….delayed a month. GG? So when they said they are gonna give all characters a skill wipe and replace with new skills…..I can already tell that the meaningful updates probably not gonna happen or might happen NEXT year. Huh.

If one person, who’s 17 years old, can make a free-to-play game called Unturned from Roblox, the entire staff for KOG can do this. How many guys in KOG are fully trained and educated to do this? They should be able to do something significant in the next few updates. For better or worse…

I agree. I think that years off managing this game it’s wearing them out

Not to mention that KoG also has to manage NA’s servers, as well as whatever other countries they have.

But I am seriously hoping LuCiel third path comes out within this month, since it didn’t come out last month.

Let’s face it: KOG is just plain doing a pathetic job handling Elsword. (And especially Grand Chase.)

-The last time they’ve spent any large number of resources adding something new to the game was the entirely unnecessary Field update, and even those fields are full of bugs.

-The last three “new” characters and even Ara’s third job path pretty much only have recycled skills with slightly new animations if even that. The original skills added to the game between Elesis and Add (Lu/Ciel have none whatsoever.) can be counted on one hand. And even Add blatantly copies one of Elesis’ few original skills!

-It took them well over a year just to produce six new stages with lazy stage design and high HP punching bag bosses that can be cleared in 5 minutes if even that solo thanks to all the +10 weapons out there. And between Sander and Lanox, we’ve seen the forementioned three character releases…..

-They’re pitifully slow with producing low budget animated cutscenes that rarely ever go above one minute in length. They couldn’t even release Lanox’s in time with the release of the last two Lanox stages.

-9-6 was extremely anti-climatic. Scar is supposed to be the main villain of the game and de facto leader of the Demon Army, and he’s standing between you and stopping the Demon Army’s very goal, but he puts up less of a fight to the level 70+ players than Banthus puts up to level 12-16 players.

Granted, the story DID say he couldn’t even touch loli Elesis when he tried to kill her….. but it is pretty sad for Elsword’s Demon Army when the most competent general was a succubus, which are generally on the lower scale of any demon army. And even more successful than her were the dinosaur men that were the only demons shown to use proper military tactics…..

            -Class balance….. enough said.

-Seriously, the game has been kept afloat by hosting the most generous free item giveaway events in MMO history ever since the ST Revamp. It’s not a KR Nexon thing. It’s not even a Grand Chase thing. (So, why didn’t they try the same tactic to keep GC alive?) It is purely an Elsword thing.

Meanwhile, Closers, the game the original Elsword team left to produce, is merely five months old, a much higher budget game, etc., and they’ve announced their Summer updates:

-Two new characters. (REAL new characters. Using different weapons from the already existing characters and all.)
-Two new areas. (One has already been released.)
-Character revamps. (One has already been released.)
-NPC sidestories where you get to play as the NPCs and even unlock them as helper NPCs.
-Revamps to the Skill Cube system. (Already partially released.)
            -Guild bases. (Already released.)

            And so on.

But what has KOG announced for Elsword this Summer?

-Lu/Ciel’s third job path. (Already failed to meet the timetable they announced.
-Smaug, which comes with the REMOVAL of content. (Already supposed to be out, delayed for well over a month.)
-Revamps for Aisha, Rena, and Raven. (But not Elbrat, the one who needs it most?!)
-Another Skill Tree Revamp. Said to undo the split choices that pissed everyone off. (Watch them somehow manage to piss everyone off even worse.)

            …..

So, just one new boss (at the cost of two) and the repackaging of already existing content while people who left KOG are managing to put out revamps AND new content.

Why is KOG doing so terribly? Well, it’s easy to say “because KOG”. Because let’s face it, inefficiency and nonsensical decisions is kind of their thing. But there is a logical explanation for this:

KOG is working on two new games: Aima and Ultimate Race.

Are the diverting resource from Grand Chase, which the fanbase showed its self to still be a decent size and still very passionate about the game, and Elsword, their one true success story, to focus on two new games, one that doesn’t even have a publisher, and the other that was for some reason picked up by Nexon but has seemingly non-existent hype in South Korea, and gotten little to no talk about it in the West, even amongst the Elsword community that one would think would take an interest in KOG’s other games?

Seriously, I’m the only English speaker out of billions even talking about Aima. But I still see plenty of hype for say, Peria Chronicles whenever they actually release some new info.

…..Why would KOG do something like that? Why would KOG sacrifice what is still somehow successful despite pissing off the fanbase left and right, for two games that are not guaranteed successes? (Mark my words: Aima’s going to flop just like Fighters Club.)

            Because KOG. That’s why.

Also, I think they may be running low on money blowing it on the development of games no one wants to play.
