    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha…..

Can’t you just smell and taste the desperation? KOG must REALLY be scrambling if they’re actually doing away with the game’s biggest pay2win feature.

    • ThisIsIT says:

No what they mean is that like you no longer have the ability to limit yourself to where you can piut your skills anymore their still is Skill slot bs

    • gheybabyjail says:

They’re not giving away b slots, they’re taking away the type b set up where you can hit space to change the four skills. Lmfao

      • Endgame says:

So, KOG is making a pointless change related to one of the main things that turns new players away from Elsword and not the one that needs to happen?

        …..

        God dammit KOG…..

        • Flare Kyn says:

Actually, it’s not pointless. Sure, it’s not a gameplay change, but some people may have problems looking down or to the top left for their skills, so being able to move it freely can actually be helpful.

        • Gameboy224 says:

Actually some people have been asking for the ability to put skills where they want. This a bit of an issue with some character’s systems having weird UIs. This is just a quality of life thing for sure.

I will miss only seeing one set of skills. I was actually one of those people who liked using Type B, even though it only let you see half your skills. Might just be because i only use 5 keys and switch. I like to conserve on keyboard space.

          • Flare Kyn says:

I personally think it takes too long to hit the switch key and then the skill key, but I couldn’t reach the QWERT keys, so I moved A-Slot to LShift, LCtrl, LAlt, Space, and NumPad0, and B-Slot to A, S, D, C, and NumPadDel (It actually took me a bit of trial and error to figure out the best placement for my skill slots).

And if you’re curious, I use RCtrl for my Special Action and RShift for my Awakening.

          • Wild Geese says:

Same here mate seeing as how I played Grand Chase before elsword I got used to only using ASDFG skills then switch

          • Gameboy224 says:

A lot of skills I have on backup tend to be stuff I don’t use as often, like bossing skills, buffs, or more situational stuff while the stuff I have up front tend to be actives and field clearer, stuff I’d use on the regular. So even if I do have to switch between keys, usually I have a good idea in advance when I’d switch.

    • Flare Kyn says:

How can you read “TYPE B” and think it meant B-Slots?! You really are stupid!

    • Dundershock says:

as soon as I read this I grew a million hands to facepalm myself

      • Endgame says:

You’re right. I never should have assumed KOG was doing the right thing.

No, I’m not being sarcastic. This was rather foolish of me.

        • Flare Kyn says:

It’s foolish because it was plainly obvious what was actually happening just from reading the title.

        • Flare Kyn says:

And no, removing B-Slots would not be the right thing. Making them cheaper or making them apply to the whole account would, but they are a business, and not everyone buys costumes (granted they’d be more likely to thanks to Magic Wardrobe, but still).

          • LuckyDucky says:

You really are retarded. You know that? :/

Being limited to 4 skills unless you pay was a big reason why most of my friends wouldn’t touch Elsword. It’s a miracle the game has gotten as far as it has.

          • Flare Kyn says:

Um… what? But a lot of chars are just fine with just 4/5 skills. Heck, I’ve even reached level 99 without any B-slots one time.

          • L says:

Just because the classes are fine with 4, to most people, its a bit dickish to charge for features in the game. Like, imagine if you had to pay to get access to the bank. Or if there was a fee in the form of stamps to sell stuff on the MP or the mailbox. The more the game asks you to buy stuff from the cash shop for features that were usually free in older games, the more annoyed people can feel. Of course, you may be fine with that. Many are, reason why BDO still exists even if its running on html and can’t avoid having an exploit every month.

          • zetgeist says:

            >it wouldn’t be the right thing to let people play their characters properly from the start
and this sort of remark out of you is the proof you’re a braindead, bootlicking piece of shit. those hotkey slots should never have been something that had to be paid for, and I don’t give a fuck about how you leeched your way to cap with only half the hotkeys you should have.

          • Flare Kyn says:

Properly? All the extra skill slots do is give you more options at a time. You still have access to every skill that your character knows.

          • Flare Kyn says:

And no, I didn’t leech my way to cap. I actually got good dungeon ranks as I leveled up.

    • Gayasfuck says:

      >KOG abolishes p2w B slot
      >”HAHAHA KOG IS SO DESPERATE FUCK KOG”
      >KOG doesn’t abolish p2w slot
      >”God dammit KOG fuck KOG”

      Never change Endgame

      • Endgame says:

It’s almost as if charging players $10 to still have access to less skills than any other kMMO on the market was an inherently bad and money grubbing thing to have since day one, and allowing it to go on for so long means there is no good decision involving it anymore.

Removing it NOW of all times as the game is facing a blatant decline would reek of desperation.

Not removing it ever paints KOG as a company that is blatantly greedy until the very end.

And it was even worse in the “Grand Chase 2.0” early days of Elsword where you couldn’t even choose any three skills (Counter, Teleport, Siege Mode, Shadow Step, and Cloaking were locked to C and could not be swapped out.) and were limited to just one 100 MP, one 200 MP, and one 300 MP. (But of course, there were a lot less skills back then. Actives outside the forementioned locked to C ones didn’t even exist yet.)

So basically….. KOG never should have done this shit in the first place.

        • Flare Kyn says:

The reason for having less skill is because this game is a lot different from other MMOs! Other MMOs are basically just “stand here while using skills with the occasional dodge”, but Elsword is “Get into position, catch your enemy, don’t get6 caught, skill when the time is right”! Plus, MMOs don’t have dedicated attack buttons, instead having auto-attacks, so the skill keys have to be within reach of the attack keys, which wouldn’t work if every number key was a skill slot.

Point is, the reduced skill slots was done because Elsword is more strategic than other MMOs.

          • L says:

Oh Bullshit, pve is just standing there chugging pots for spamming skills. Most of it isn’t even strategic, its reaction. DS is strategy, Elsword is about as strategic as super meat boy. Having less skills isn’t going to change the fact that people are just face tanking and spamming all their skills in a rotation before waiting for the boss to do their shtick before going back into the rotation. No one is going to pull a combo or try to toss the boss into the air like in pvp in order to clear a dungeon.

          • Flare Kyn says:

My experience with Hall of El disagrees with you.

And I’ve been using Organic Apples with full potion guild passive.

          • XiaoyuLing says:

Jeez, I can’t look at other comments at all without you commenting in it to be “logical.” If it wasn’t enough that you wanted Endgame to notice you now you must make up 90 percent of babel comments. Also, when doing pve, L is correct. 99 percent of the players legit spam pots just to use special actives over and over. This game doesn’t have a strategy to it. Elsword is a hack and slash MMO. At least KOG wasn’t lying about that cause you don’t need to think at all when playing this game.

          • zetgeist says:

jesus christ, tardkin. do you actually read the bullshit you vomit all over this site’s comment section? do you actually believe any of this absolutly moronic shit?
you have no fucking clue what you’re talking about.

          • Flare Kyn says:

THEN EXPLAIN, JACKASS! ‘CAUSE MY ORGANIC APPLES SEND ME FROM ALMOST DEAD TO ALMOST FULL IN A SINGLE USE, AND I STILL DIE 3/4 TIMES IN BEGINNING WHEN I DON’T LUCK OUT WITH 0 DEATHS!

  • Jochira says:

    seriously? I really hate Type A :U

    • Flare Kyn says:

For what reason? Literally all that’s different is the appearance. If you really want your skills shown under your HP/MP bars, just move them there. It doesn’t even affect the gameplay.

      • Malle says:

YES IT DOES EFFECT GAMEPLAY. Now I have to use qwerty instead of just pushing the space bar and continue to use ASDCF like wdf. Legit this is the worst patch I’ve seen all year. This is worse than that time they split Lu/Ciel’s stats.

        If anything, it’s close second.

        • Jonathan says:

Except with the Type A setup, you can also use the Spacebar to switch the rows and continue to use ASDCF.

        • Flare Kyn says:

Um, NO, it doesn’t! You could use QWERT with Type-B as well, and you could swap keys with Type-A as well!

        • Gameboy224 says:

Flare is indeed correct. You can still use Spacebar with Type A. This was never not the case.
You’ve always been able to switch rows with Type A. This doesn’t affect gameplay in any way shape or form.

          • Weregreymon says:

Actually, it really does affect gameplay. I tried to use Type-A pressing Space Bar and it was a mess. Almost everytime I couldn’t figure out which skills where at the ASDCF to use, because the 2 rows of skills confused me.

With Type-B, there is only 1 row, and I don’t even need to look to the top left to know which skills where there and which weren’t. Also, pressing Spacebar never was slow for me, since you can do it as the skill animation happens. So when it’s finished, I already was with the next rotation skill ready at ASDCF.

In the end, it would have been better if they maintained the two options and just added the feature to freely move the slot.

          • Flare Kyn says:

“Almost everytime I couldn’t figure out which skills where at the ASDCF to use, because the 2 rows of skills confused me.”

That’s a “you” problem, not a gameplay problem.

Also, pressing Spacebar never was slow for me, since you can do it as the skill animation happens.

But you don’t always know what the next skill you want to use is. And when I said “slow”, I meant “takes up time I could have used for my skill”.

          • Cursed says:

The thing is some people are used to it, just as some others get used to the A Type.
Maybe its not game breaking but still changes something that has been here for years.

          • Cursed says:

Edit: Tried what Flare said, maybe it will be odd to see all the skills at the same time(for people used to B Type) but works as the same.

          • blargh says:

I dislike it because it takes SO much visual space and disrupts my order, yes OCD here, but ok, I just wish there was a way to make one of the 2 bars invisible

          • Cursed says:

Welp rip. A guy in KR mentioned that switching in the new Type A Slot is impossible

  • Seto says:

As a player who plays with a controller. I think this update sucks since I have a button to change my slots and and all my shoulder buttons as my skills just to save controller button space. Hope we can still keep type b slot in the NA version. If not this update will probably kill the game for me since I won’t be able to play comfortably. Keyboard is too awkward for me in this game.

    • Flare Kyn says:

Um… you do know that Type-A does not prevent you from pressing the skill swap button, right?

      • Malle says:

        @Flare

You’re obviously not smart enough to understand people who have been using B-type and you obviously don’t understand WHY people used B-type and WHY it was created in the first place.

        So please just stop commenting.

        • Flare Kyn says:

“I think this update sucks since I have a button to change my slots and and all my shoulder buttons as my skills just to save controller button space.”

“YES IT DOES EFFECT GAMEPLAY. Now I have to use qwerty instead of just pushing the space bar and continue to use ASDCF like wdf.”

And I think you don’t understand the complaints.

    • Gameboy224 says:

This doesn’t affect that. Regardless whether you use Type A or B, the switch button was always there.

The only difference is Type A showed you the other set and was located at the bottom of the screen while Type B only showed you the first row and was located at the top.

Functionally they’re identical neither affect gameplay in any way shape or form. Pressing the switch bottom will still switch while skill in and the bottom row.

  • Estelle says:

    Um, if you get the chance to, 2na, can you explain what you mean before i start triggering for nothing! Lol ;;;3;;;

    • Endgame says:

They’re removing a UI setting so free players can constantly be reminded that they need to pay to use more than four skills.

It’s a pointless thing to do and might convince even more people to quit the game forever. Because KOG felt they haven’t turned enough people away.

  • Malle says:

    Um pls no.
    I rely on type B
Type A is terrible like wdf asdcf is really easy to manage. I swear to god I hope NA GM’s aren’t this stupid and give us this patch.

    *prays*

  • Qij says:

    Sounds alright.

…wow seriously, people got offended by this? Geez, it’s like y’all gotta reach for a reason to whine like babies.

Anyways, I ain’t seeing any, “can’t use spacebar or whatever key to switch anymore,” so any problems with this just sounds petty.

    • Qij says:

Also, I got a neat little discovery for anyone using B-type: All of the keys you assigned to B-Slot? They still work. So even if you can’t see the keys anymore, they WILL still activate the skills you set to them, skill-switch or not.

I repeat: Even if you set it to B-type, all ten skill keys are still usable without key-switching.

So, I have a simple solution for this TREMENDOUS GAME ALTERING CHANGE: 1) Move the skill slots to the upper left corner yourself. Because, y’know, you can do that soon. 2) Then, ignore the B-Slot. 3) Finally, just keep using the switch-key.

Three steps. Simple yes? I’d be worried for anyone who can’t figure this out.

  • Seto says:

All these condescending comments though. Is it that hard to give advice without sounding like a asshole?

    • Flare Kyn says:

Ikr? I eventually just decided to make videos showing how this has no effect on gameplay whatsoever and posted links to them.

      • LuckyDucky says:

He’s talking about you retard. :/

        • Flare Kyn says:

And you know that HOW? You’re not him.

          • L says:

It shouldn’t affect your gameplay if you play as IS and just spam XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.

          • Flare Kyn says:

Just because Super Armor lets you take hits without hitstun doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.

          • Endgame says:

Before the field update ruined it by not resetting the WotS bar with each stage, I actually used to play ShK/IS by mashing X until I reached the boss and then unloaded Vitality skills, built up Destruction quickly, then unloaded Final Blade. (Which used to be really good. Party members usually did enough damage by the time I used it to where it’d finish the boss off.)

…..Of course, if I didn’t have to spend $10 to get him more than 4 skills, I’d be able to use some Actives to cancel the X mashing combo before the enemies get knocked down. (Granted, most didn’t live long enough for that to matter much.)

          • Flare Kyn says:

Actives? Dude, you can literally end the combo with Z!

I also used to use X-Spam, until I realized it was fucking boring and not even a good strategy.

Also, wth is Final Blade?! There’s literally no skill with that name!

  • Laternchen says:

This is the absolutely most useless change I have ever witnessed.

    • Endgame says:

Yep. But it got a major announcement that 2nafish felt the need to translate.

Meanwhile, there’s not even as much as a teaser for major summer updates while the other Nexon games are advertising new characters. (Hell, the bigger games like Maple Story and Vindictus already have theirs up on their test servers. Did you hear that KOG? There are these things called public test servers.)

…..I truly and honestly cannot understand how this game has survived for so long.

  • BestUpdateEver says:

Next update we will be able to move hp/mp bar freely too and the next one potions bar too

    BE GRATEFUL niggas

  • Falken says:

Sooo no new char yet… Jokes aside since i use awsd for movement and num pad for skills and atacks… This update is just meh… I wonder if someday a display damage on/off button will apeard… In my opinion all the damage numbers displayed inside a dungeon or pvp are useless since you can look the hp bar

  • xLunatix says:

Sigh… if it isn’t character balance they complain about, it’s something else trivial like this. These people can’t get it through their thick skulls that nothing has changed but the looks and having the ability to move your skills on the screen to a location you may desire. Oh oh for the main point, you can still press space to switch skills!! It’s a new discovery for your poor souls but that’s fine!! To make it even better you can put it back below your HP and MP bars!! Yes, I know it’s an amazing idea. Or for the ones complaining put it directly in the center of the screen so it’s neither too or bottom!! Anyways, fact of the matter is just stop complaining over these little things and bashing a company that is at least trying because it was people like these complainers that were bashing kog for not doing anything before.

  • Epyon says:

It’s not about the fact, that you can’t switch the rows, but ignoring the unused row, is easier sad than done.
Believe me, because I am a Controller Player, I tried to play in A-Type with button switches, when it was released back in the day for a long amount of time. in the end it will allways srew up your gameplay. Youre concentration will mostly be disrupted by checking if you’re really in the right row, the second roe will just be a big nuisance. That’s why it really is an unnecessary change.

  • YY says:

i see nothing wrong about skill slot type B. Why they have to remove it?? seriously…so unnecessary

    • Endgame says:

KOG’s decisions are so entirely nonsensical that there is only one way to attempt to provide an answer for this question:

      Because KOG.

      • Gameboy224 says:

        Shut up Endgame. -_-

Realistically, Type B was just a handicap when you think about it. There is virtually no benefit to it other than visual preference.

They removed it since there really isn’t a point of keeping it. Since you can simply move it wherever you want the difference in placement between Type A and B is no longer a thing. The only con is that if you don’t have a B-Slot you’ll always seen 4/5 empty slots, but all things considered that is a non-issue.

        • Endgame says:

Being constantly reminded that your character is gimped unless you spend $10 on him/her is a non-issue. Of course. How dare people limited to 4/5 slots want to only see 4/5 slots! Let’s remove harmless options that exist instead of, say, harmful things like the fact that you have to spend $10 right off the bat just to ungimp your character.

          • Flare Kyn says:

… Except you’re literally the only one complaining about that. Everyone else was complaining about the inability to switch skills, which I proved wrong.

  • Zack says:

Love people going hard over such a minor change…I can only imagine how people are gonna react when KoG releases a update that lets you move the cosumables UI.

Also erm…I should say this again….why all the wave of such an update like this. Here I am thinking “Oh man they gonna nerf VP again I wonder how many aisha mains are gonna get triggered” and now im just seeting unneccessary nonsense over something very minor.

The only way i can take this seriously is if they actually remove the space bar fuction from the Skill type A. But if thats not the case then….why are people so easliy sensitive over such an update?

    • Flare Kyn says:

There’s not even any mention of spacebar functionality being removed, so it’s likely that they legit thought Type-A didn’t allow skill swapping this entire time.

  • Seto says:

I honestly thought type A didn’t allow skill swapping. It’s a easy mistake to see guys. No need to be so condescending in all your responses. Just one of those things KoG doesn’t explain to it’s player base

  • UndyingWill1 says:

A useless change: I used Type B because I loved the old way skills was shown. At least it doesn’t affect my gameplay.

  • Endgame says:

    KR Elsword rankings watch:

    http://www.gamemeca.com/popup/ranking.php?scode=O&rid=1248

IT FELL OFF, BABY! Second time it’s happened.

That’s what you get for releasing copypaste bullshit as “new content”, KOG! I mean, for fuck’s sake, Temple of Trials already has a segment that is essentially what Trial of El is. But much shorter and not spread out across three weeks…..

    • Flare Kyn says:

BUT WHY DID IT FALL OFF?! IS IT THAT PLAYERS LEFT, OR IS IT THAT MORE PLAYERS JOINED THE OTHER GAMES?!

      • zetgeist says:

        >implying that it matters
you really are as stupid as you act, aren’t you. how do you remember how to breathe while being this stupid?

      • Flare Kyn says:

BUT IT DOES MATTER, YOU NIMROD!

        • Flare Kyn says:

It matters because if the players aren’t leaving, then the game isn’t getting worse, the other games are just getting better and/or more people are learning about them.

          • Flare Kyn says:

@zeitgeist Are you Endgame in disguise so that I don’t see that you’ve “noticed me”?

If you are, then I hate to break it to you (except I really don’t), but you’re not the sole reason I comment on this site! Even if you stopped posting here forever, I’d still be here. And if you’re not: grow a fucking brain.

          • Flare Kyn says:

Actually, no: even if you are Endgame, grow a brain!

          • Endgame says:

My dear Flare Kyn, it’s time you finally be told the truth…..

Everyone on the Babel comment section is really me in disguise. Even you!

Your life is a lie! Naught more than a show put on for my own amusement! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA- *Hack.* *Cough.* *Ahem.* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

          • Flare Kyn says:

I’m sorry, but your attempt at a joke only got a chuckle out of me, and only for how stupid it was.

          • Endgame says:

But of course you would say something like that. Because I wrote you as a one dimensional character capable only of calling me stupid and fellating Daddy KOG.

            Free will is an illusion.

          • Flare Kyn says:

Except I don’t agree with everything KoG does?

I’m still waiting for both Elysion nerf and Poison nerf.

          • Anonymous says:

“Please notice me, myself.” Selfcest in real.

    • Endgame says:

So anyway, Elsword fell off the top 50 rankings despite managing to stay within it all through shit like the ST Revamp and Rose Rage.

      • Flare Kyn says:

        BUT
        FOR
        WHAT
        REASON

        • Zack says:

Nobody knows the EXACT reason, however you have to consider something.

          People aren’t leaving Elsword….BIG….FREAKING…DEAL…
When you are up against other MMOs, you NEED more people to join. You could have many huge supporting players that spend hundreds of dollars on end every month. If you don’t have new blood in your MMO, then something is obviously wrong.

The BIGGEST problem is the game’s updates. No, not that the updates or bad or even good. But the fact that many players log in JUST for those updates. They see an update, deal with it wether it be a dungeon or something, and that’s it.

And yes Flare Kyn, there is such a thing as other games getting more popular by the second. If the pattern isn’t obvious by now, the Elsword updates ONLY make people stay for a little bit, they don’t quit but they don’t have anything else to do either really. It climbing up and down proves this easily. I don’t care if the game dies today or in 10 years, but if it does comes, I’ll reinstall this game just to see it ^^.

          • Zack says:

Also Endgame don’t be so heckbent on seeing the game die.I don’t know if the game stole your year’s earnings or something but I just can’t go up to a developer and tell them “I hope your game dies tomorrow”. If the game isn’t offense or ripping you off SUPER hard then it just sounds tasteless.

I’m just gonna say that with Type-A, you literally DON’T have to use QWERT. There’s this nifty setting called custom keyboard. You see all you got to do is unequipped all b slot skills commands from QWERT. Then the only literal difference would be that you can see the entirety of your skills

Alternatively, you could just keep playing the same as you already have, ’cause Skill Swap works in both types.

Or another alternative is to rearrange the keys so it’s more comfortable to use your skills, which is what I do, but that’s just one option.
