Free Training. Let's train and practice our combos and special skills.
A place where you can hone your skills to your heart's content.
Required Combat Power
You can access this Map by speaking to Camilla, then select the Free Training Button.
In this mode, you can hone your skills by trying out your combos.
Press F5, F6, and F7 for instant HP, MP, and Special Recovery respectively.
Up to 5 mobs can be spawned at one time, and their levels can be changed within 10 levels of your own.
Combo damage is displayed on the bottom right.
A more detailed list of your skill damage can be found under the Skill Damage tab.
The map can be changed from the standard training room, to any of the basic PvP maps to practice in.
Tree Mushrooms and (Giant) Training Monkeys have zero phy/mag defense.
Lowe will not move or attack, and has a massive amount of HP, making him ideal for practicing combos on.
Tree Mushroom - It can only hop about and pound you with its cap.
Headbutt: Smacks players with its mushroom head.
Training Monkey - Stable wooden punching bags.
Giant Training Monkey - Larger version of the wooden Training Monkey.
Lowe - Lowe has volunteered to help you hone your skills.
Cards: Any monster cards present in the inventory can be summoned as training dummies with the usual drop down menu bar. Cards will not be depleted. Epic NPC Cards and Alchemist's Monster Cards cannot be used and will not appear in the drop down menu.
Some attacks also deal fewer hits within the training room too such as Gust Storm.
When in Free Training, if the character's special system uses points instead of a gauge, the Special Recovery button only recovers one point at a time.
While Lowe makes for a decent player-like target for practicing basic combos, he has various design quirks that make him inconvenient, such as always having zero landing frames when attacked mid-air and that Skill Freeze will not affect him if he's further than a third of a screen away from you, don't rely too heavily on him.
