Penetration Increase effect strengthen Fantasy Impromptu - 1st Movement's Accelerando and Death Sentence of Marbas.
Souls specifically strengthen Trigger - Soul Eruption, Eschaton, Spectral Spear, and Swift Smash and will be consumed when casting any of these skills.
Souls are required for specific effects of the passives Tribute and Spiritual Enhancement.
One way to gather souls quickly is to use the combo, which can generate 5 souls when carefully fired at one target.
