Ran: Difference between revisions

Before Ran became the demon general that invaded [[Hamel]], he was Aren Haan, a blood descendant of the famed Haan family of the Northern Empire Xin. The most respected son of the Haan family, he was loved by everybody in the clan. At some point his mother died of unmentioned reasons, in time his father had fallen in love with a new woman, a brave woman he had seen. Admiring her courage, Aren's father persisted to marry the woman until she accepted. Along with the woman, was her daughter [[Ara]]. Whilst his new mother got along with his father perfectly fine, his siblings constantly teased her and [[Ara]]. Aren however chose not to partake in such actions and treated them much like family.

Even when [[Ara]] felt depressed and saddened, not knowing what she should do, Aren was there to comfort her. He requested to spar with his sister. He easily dodged and deflected her early attacks. Knowing his sister was hesitant he pushed her to become more serious. Until she won, with her spear right below his chin, Aren admitted defeat. He tells his sister that she should devote herself to her training, and one day she will be able to openly express herself.

Sometime before the festival gathering all the powerful families of the Northern Empire arrived, Aren has injured his arm while riding horseback. He alongside his entire family went to the Northern Empire's capital to attend the festival and remain in good terms with the Emperor. During the festival, one of the main attractions was a sparring competition between the various families, unfortunately due to his injuries, Aren could not participate in the competition. His fellow siblings compete but despite the Haan family's famed skills, they were defeated by members of the Zhen family. The Zhen family was disappointing that they were not able to fight the Haan family's best warrior but were happy that their family was victorious. However Aren spoke up and mentioned that there was one more member of the Haan family which they had not fought yet, of course he was referring to his step-sister [[Ara]]. [[Ara]] heard her brother's words and stepped forwards. She competed against the Zhen family's fighter and won the battle. Aren watched the battle and when it was over, he spoke confidently to his sister that he was right about his sister all along.

A proud warrior of the Haan family from the village of [[A burning village|Isshin]] in the country of Fahrmann. One day, Aren partook a post in Fahrmann's capital and left the village of [[A burning village|Isshin]]. The demons came from the Demon World and attacked Fahrmann, starting with the capital. Unable to defend against the demon invasion forever, the capital fell and Aren's strong connection to the Moon El made him a prime target to be brainwashed by the demons. He was known as the demon commander Ran.

As Ran, he would return to his once home village to take the Moon El for the demon army. His demon forces were powerful and the village [[A burning village|Isshin]] burned to the ground. [[Ara]] did her best to defend her village but the oncoming demon forces forced her and the other Haans further back until [[Ara]] was the only one left. Hurrying to the sanctuary she confronted Ran and Victor, Ran went off to search for the Moon El while Victor attacked [[Ara]]. Cornered and without any hope of surviving, the floor crumbled underneath her and she found herself in an ancient sanctuary and saw a shadow. [[Ara]] looked up and got a good look at the figure, only to realize that she was face to face with her brother Aren. Aren, now Ran, had little sympathy for his once sister and was ready to strike her down. However, [[Ara]] fused with Eun and was able to escape [[A burning village|Isshin]] with her life. Ran successfully completed his mission in Fahrmann.

In the El Search Party's quest to aid [[Rod Ross]] and obtain the Water Seal, they discovered that [[Avalanche]] had been hiding the sacred artifact in his scepter. After hearing this, Ran struck [[Avalanche]], killing him and took the Water Seal for himself. After the El Search Party found Ran at the end of the [[7-7|Halls of Water]], Ran had already finished his job. [[Chung]] fought Ran but [[Ara]] finally catching up with her brother and defended him. Using this opportunity, Ran fled away from [[Hamel]] and made his way to [[Sander]], where he informed [[Karis]] to embark on her plans.
