Difficulty

All dungeons are associated with certain difficulty levels. Normally, dungeons can be accessed between 3 difficulty levels: Normal, Hard, or Very Hard. However, some dungeons will have different types of difficulties. For Tree of El, the dungeon can only be accessed on Normal mode. Henir's Time and Space can be accessed between 2 difficulties: Normal or Challenge. Other special dungeons such as Secret Dungeons or Ereda Island will not have any adjustable difficulty levels.

Players

All dungeons possess a recommended number of players to play. However, it is also possible to enter and complete a dungeon without satisfying the recommended number. For most normal dungeons, the recommended number of players is dependent on the difficulty level.

Dungeon Type Dungeon Recommended Number of Players
Normal Normal Dungeons (Normal Mode) 1
Normal Dungeons (Hard Mode) 2 ~ 3
Normal Dungeons (Very Hard Mode) 3 ~ 4
Special Secret Dungeons 3 ~ 4
Ereda Island 8
Henir's Time and Space (Normal Mode) 1

Party Matching System

Dungeons are best played with a party! While logged on to the game with your character, click the Dungeon button at the right side of the screen. This will open the dungeon selection interface which lets you choose a particular dungeon and its specifications, as well as initiate party matching.

Players

The indicated number of players for a dungeon is the minimum number of players the party matching system requires before starting the dungeon instance.

  • If the minimum requirement is not met, the current number of players get matched up and receive a power boost for the missing members.
  • If only one or two people are matched into a dungeon, two Epic NPCs will take the place of the missing party members.

Level Range

Your character must meet a dungeon's level requirements to enter through party matching. Being one level behind the minimum can be possible to access the dungeon with the item level being the only restriction.

Appropriate Item Level

Your equipped items must meet the dungeon's item level requirement.

Starting a Dungeon

Pressing Start Dungeon or the F8 key will launch the party matching system. The system will try to create a party with up to 4 members of different classes who selected the same difficulty level. You may also choose Start with current members to go immediately into a dungeon by yourself or with your current party members.

Quest Marker

In the maps showing dungeon locations, the Q icon will appear over dungeons where you may accomplish tasks in order to complete a quest in your list. Let Q drive your adventure!

Hero's Call

If a dungeon currently has less than the recommended amount of players queued, it may have an orange Hero's Call flag next to it to indicate that more players are needed. By selecting Start Dungeon while the text is highlighted orange and the Hero's Call flag is shown, one can answer the call. Doing so will reward the player a Heroes Coin at the end of the dungeon, 3 of which can be exchanged at Ariel for a random useful items.

Normal Dungeons

The most basic form of dungeon. These are the most common type of dungeons. They are essential for completing story quests and most side quests. They have average difficulty and are designed for all players.

Buffed monsters are much more common. Some may appear with General status, like monsters in Secret Dungeons, while others may possess the effects of Elixirs obtainable from Gates of Darkness.

These items can be used when Hero Mode officially updates after the 4/7/2016 maintenance.
