"夜暝" shares the same meaning with "夜冥", which means "night".
In ancient China, people believed that the thoughts in the daytime will reflect in the night dream. When they failed to do something in reality, their souls can finish it in their dream. It's the meaning of "魂梦". It can be be found in many Chinese ancient poetry, like 鹧鸪天 (written by 晏几道).
In the poetry, he wrote: "从别后，忆相逢，几回魂梦与君同", which means "after I left, I always remember the time when we meet each other. I hug you for many times in my dream, but I can't do it in reality." I'm a Chinese so I think the meaning of "魂梦者" is much more than simply "dreamer".
