The seed gradually grows to its maximum size as the enemy with the seed planted in it attacks, weakening the enemy's defense.

The seed's damage will not inflict any hitstun outside of the first hit, which plants the seed during the explosion, and the final hit, which gets rid of it.
The seed will grow as you take damage from an enemy with the seed on it. This makes it useful in PvP to pressure enemies out of attacking you, as the damage of the seed and the eventual defense decrease would cripple them.
- The seed goes up one phase every hits the enemy deals.
As enemies in dungeons attack fairly slowly and usually don't deal too much damage, most of the threat coming from their numbers, the seed will likely never reach phase 15 in PvE.
- It may be possible to reach phase 15 in Hero Mode, but that puts yourself at risk, due to the enemies there doing such amounts of damage that you would likely die before it reaches phase 15.
