  • The skill's tooltip doesn't mention this, but the Relic selection is based on certain conditions.
  • In PvE, when using Mining with no artifacts or with
    obtainable if no targets are around you
    [Gemstone Relic]
    , you will obtain [Drill Relic] if nearest target is a mini boss or boss monster. If nearest target is a normal monster, you will obtain [Cutter Relic].
    • When using Mining while holding a [Cutter Relic], it will change to a Drill Relic. When using Mining while holding a [Drill Relic], it will change to a Cutter Relic.
    • Players will no longer be able to switch to [Gemstone Relic] while holding [Cutter Relic] or [Drill Relic].
  • In PvP, relics will be obtained based on a timer like Horary:
    • Gemstone Relic is available for the first 20 seconds, then changes to Cutter for 10 seconds. Then both segments are repeated, but with Drill instead of Cutter. After a minute, the whole cycle is repeated.
  • You will only obtain the artifact during the "acquire" animation after the final skill hit. If interrupted before doing the animation, you will not receive an artifact.
