Boss Attacks |
Tips
|
- Three-Hit Combo: Swings his sword three times, with the final hit launching any players hit.
|
- This is the boss' most frequent attack. Because of this, using skills or items that provide
Super ArmorSuper Armor are recommended to avoid being launched away.
- Compared to Phase 1, this attack deals greater damage and covers a greater range.
|
- Connecting Space: Targets two random players with a
Self DebuffConnecting SpaceSelf DebuffConnecting Space debuff that lasts 10 seconds. Upon duration expiry, a portal will be placed on the ground where the targeted player is standing.
|
- Players can enter these portals and teleport between the two locations. However, there is a 3 second cooldown in between portal usages, indicated by the
Self DebuffFatigueSelf DebuffFatigue debuff.
- Outside of Immense Power Release, it is recommended to place the two portals directly on top of each other, as to prevent players from randomly teleporting during the fight.
|
- Flame Path: Summons a dark flame that spreads to the left and right of the Shadow of Greed, covering most of the platform. Any players who come into contact with this flame will receive two debuffs: the first is the
Self DebuffAbyss EmberSelf DebuffAbyss Ember from phase 1 and lasts for 5 seconds. The second is an Self DebuffEnhanced Abyss EmberSelf DebuffEnhanced Abyss Ember debuff which functions the same as the regular Abyss EmberAbyss Ember, but lasts for 3 seconds and cannot be removed via debuff removal/immunity skills.
|
- The flames are capable of reaching up one platform above.
|
- Immense Power Release: Ran teleports to a random player and begins preparing a devastating strike, indicated by a red rectangular zone. This attack will instantly kill any players inside the red zone and bypasses any resurrection effects. Players must use the portals from Connecting Space to quickly traverse outside of the red zone.
|
- The attack covers most of the screen, and depending on latency, the attack may linger briefly after the visuals go off.
- Ran will perform this attack a certain number of times depending on his HP at the start of this mechanic:
- If his HP is greater than 200 bars, he will perform this attack 2 times.
- If his HP is between 100~200 bars, he will perform this attack 4 times.
- If his HP is less than 100 bars, he will perform this attack 6 times.
- It is recommended to place the portals just off the edge of the highest platform on each side. Afterwards, players will gather on the highest platform and wait for Ran to teleport to them, before descending into the portal.
- It is possible for Ran to teleport on top of a portal and prevent players from entering it.
- In the event the portals are misplaced and/or Ran is teleported to an undesirable location, players will have about 3 seconds after the red danger zone appears before the attack goes off. For less mobile characters such as Raven, it is recommended to utilize Hyper Acceleration or similar abilities that increase speed.
- It is not recommended to attempt attacking Ran during this mechanic, as it is easy to accidentally bait Ran to an undesirable location, and/or prevent yourself from dodging the attack as a result of animation lock.
- Ran will only use this attack on every fourth cast of Connecting Space.
- Most of the time, this attack will occur shortly after Summon Crystals.
|
- Unstable Aura: Summons a piece of Abyssal aura nearby that explodes after 5 seconds. One player is able to pick up and move this aura by coming into contact with it. If the aura explosion hits Ran, he will restore 60 bars of HP and gain increased attack for a short period of time.
|
- Once picked up, the aura cannot be passed to another player.
- The player holding the aura is denoted by the aura appearing above their head, or by the
Self DebuffUnstable AuraSelf DebuffUnstable Aura debuff icon.
- The explosion covers your entire screen. The explosion will not harm the player carrying the aura, but will inflict heavy damage and knockback to all other players.
- This knockback ignores
Super ArmorSuper Armor, so it is possible for players to be knocked off the arena.
- While the aura cannot spawn directly on top of a player, it is able to spawn very close by, to the point where it is possible to accidentally pick up the aura simply from attack/skill animations.
|
- Summon Crystals: Ran dashes off the side of the arena, becoming untargetable, and summons dark abyssal crystals randomly across the arena, one for each player. After a few seconds, he will dash horizontally from one side of the arena to the other, through the middle level.
|
- Each player will be connected to a random crystal via a tether. Players must stretch this tether such that it crosses the middle platform and reaches the opposite side. eg: If a player is tethered to a crystal on the bottom-most platform, the player must stand on the upper-most platform. If performed correctly, Ran will halt at the end of his dash. If any tethers are not successfully severed, all players will be inflicted with
Self DebuffSilenceSelf DebuffSilence for 20 seconds, and have their consumable quickslots set on cooldown for 40 seconds.
- If a player comes into contact with another player's tether, they will receive a
Self DebuffLeg InjurySelf DebuffLeg Injury debuff for 8 seconds, dealing continuous damage and preventing them from dashing.
- On some servers, it is recommended to stand close to your tethered crystal until everyone has found their crystal, as to reduce the chances of inflicting
Leg InjuryLeg Injury on each other.
|
- Gravity Field: Creates a large field around himself that continuously inflicts
Self Debuff???Self Debuff??? to any players inside, drastically reducing their movement, jump, and action speeds. This debuff stacks up to 4 times, and on the 5th stack, it is removed and the player is instead inflicted with Self DebuffFlattenedSelf DebuffFlattened for 1 second, before repeating.
|
- The outer edges of the field will pulse, making it difficult to determine where the field ends.
- It is possible for players to be pushed inside the field by Ran's attacks, even if they are in
Super ArmorSuper Armor.
- Ran will occasionally use Unstable Aura alongside this attack.
- The debuff lasts for 10 seconds, but its duration is continuously refreshed with each stack.
