Chapter 11: Kingdom in captivity

Chapter 11

When Elsword and his Party reached the Kingdom, it was already burning, and the Evil Forces and the Dark Elves were to blame. After numerous fights, they finally retrieved the Evil Force plans and decided to enter through the Southern Gate, seeing there were only a few guards there. Soon after, the Party arrived at the Southern Gate and realized that it was a trick and found all the guards waiting for them there. The guards were almost all defeated until Chloe summoned the Dark Nephilim. They used magic and previously learned skills to destroy the Dark Nephilim and escaped the Southern Gate. The Centurion of Velder named Vanessa asked the El Search Party to deliver a rescue letter all the way across the sea to the other side of the continent.

Description

After you've finally crossed Hope Bridge to the Palace Entrance, you are greeted by raging flames and destruction instead of the beautiful street that once led ot the palace. The Palace Entrance is under attack, so let's ignore the Demons at the gate and get to the castle right away!

  • Vanessa: The path to the Castle is open... That Fire looks weird.
  • Aisha: Look! Oh no, the outskirts of the Palace are in flames!
  • Vanessa: No.. At this rate the castle won't be safe!
  • Raven: Troops are panicking.. The tide of the battle has changed..
  • Rena: It would be reckless to move our troops into that sea of fire.. What should we do..?
  • Vanessa: First.. First, we need to see if the Castle is safe, please enter the Castle and see if it is safe.
Quest Completion Dialogue
  • Elsword: Glitter Vanguard is blocking the entrance to the Palace.. We couldn't advance.
  • Vanessa: The Castle is in.. flames... If.. If I was a stronger...

  • Noel: The cause is probably the Fire Spirits that the Dark Elves summoned from the Demon World. Those Fire Spirits can make the smallest fire into an inferno.

  • Aisha: Lies! It's probably Kenaz, it specializes in chain explosions.
  • Vanessa: Is that true? Then we just have to get rid of those spirits and the flames will die down.
  • Noel: Just defeating them is not enough, if they have just a little bit of Fire Spirit around them they will come back.
  • Vanessa: We have to stop any more damage from being done to the Castle. We just have to take care of the Fire Spirits nearby and we can stop the fire spreading.
  • Noel: Look at you.. What happened?
  • Vanessa: Be careful. Your clothes might catch on fire. I'll ask the Soldiers to prepare some water, please this way.
  • Raven: N.. No.. It's okay.
  • Vanessa: Thank you, the fire should spread a bit slower now. I'll advance our soldiers once the fire is under control.
  • Vanessa: A demons is defeating our soldiers. None of my soldiers can stop it
  • Rena: We finally got near the Kingdom's entrance.. Who is it now?
  • Vanessa: It's a Glitter.

  • Vanessa: A surviving solder told us that when the Glitter won a battle he said his name was Mcgard. He acted alone and only went for the strongest soldiers in the squad.
  • Noel: I guess there are demons of different types. I'm guess he just wanted to test his strength.
  • Vanessa: That's right, you can guess once he takes out all my skilled soldiers it will be disastrous. Please go defeat him.
  • Raven: <Chuckle> Let's go.
  • Noel: You really won! Hahah!.
  • Raven: Hmph, I can take on three at once.
  • Elsword: I got four... ah!
  • Aisha: This is not time for jokes!

Description

They breeze through the battlefield, destroying buildings and crushing our soldiers in their way. Let's get to the Palace Entrance and destroy their weapons! Also, let's take their Alchemy Handbook from them!

  • Vanessa: Our last obstacle to the Castle is the Glitter Vanguard.
  • Noel: If it wasn't for him the residential area wouldn't have been destroyed..
  • Rena: That tank... That's the one that was blocking the Kingdom, it looked sturdy.
  • Aisha: I thought they were all big muscle headed dummies like someone I know... But demons do have brains..
  • Eve: That's right, they're not as strong as our kind but they are specialized in battling in the city.
  • Vanessa: Completely destroy it so it cannot move again. We have to get inside the Castle this time!

  • Vanessa: You did it! Now nothing stands in our way tot he castle! Let's g--..!!

  • Elsword: ?!
  • Rena: Is everyone alright?
  • Vanessa: W.. Why did it explode?

  • Aisha: A Chain Explosion! Demons filled their tanks with fire spirits!
  • Elsword: Damn! They were waiting for us to destroy it!
  • Raven: Just the size of the tank.. There are at least scores of spirits left.... The explosions are not over!
  • Vanessa: Retreat! Everyone Retreat!
  • (KABOOM!!!!)
  • Rena: Kyaah!?
  • Elsword: They.. couldn't dodge it... I won't forgive them..! Demon scum! Let got of me Raven! I'll kill them all!!

  • Vanessa: We can't do anything, we have refugees and injured soldiers. We need to deal with him somehow in order to retreat.
  • Vanessa: Thanks to you, we have successfully crossed the bridge.
  • Raven: <Sigh> Somehow made it.
  • Elsword: Uh oh, everyone's confused!
  • Raven: We were preemptively attacked and also lost on a strategic level.
  • Vanessa: Attention! Let's review our plan. Our one and only objective is to drive the Demons out of Velder! To do that we need to first. Retain as many Soldiers as we can in order to secure the City once we retake it. Do your best to keep your current forces without as much casualty!

  • Rena: Sigh, I guess so.
  • Noel: Vanessa said we have to neutralize the siege tower and retreat to minimize casualties.
  • Noel: Good work, now the refugees and retreating soldiers are out of the siege tower's range.

  • Elsword: They aren't going to let us retreat that easily.. huh? Then I'll take them down!
  • Vanessa: Apparently no matter how many times you defeat him he keeps coming back to life...
  • Noel: Demonic spell? Velder's Alchemist Grail might have an answer for you.
  • Noel: What do you think, Grail?
  • Grail: Sip... You say he summoned a puppet? He stores him soul inside one of the dolls. You should destroy the puppet and get a hold of his real spirit and if you destroy the soul after you should rid of him permanently.
  • Eve: The puppet and the fancy look is to hide this trick.. Impressive, puppy.
  • Grail: Ahem..! If you get a hold of Crazy Puppet's soul fragment, could you bring it to me? I'll take care of it.

  • Elesis: To make it brief, I was on a solo mission to investigate the demons and that led me here.
  • Vanessa: Sigh... One after another..
  • Raven: What? 1st Commercial District is in trouble as well?
  • Vanessa: Our soldiers have entered the 1st Commercial Area but that area is already taken over by the vicious Demon Knight, Spriggan.
  • Elesis: This is bad... The soldiers won't be able to defend the refugees while retreating.
  • Vanessa: We have no where to retreat to now. We've already lost the 3rd Residential Area.. If we lose this one too our army will scatter.
  • Aisha: We just have to take care of Spriggan, right? The red haired kid will take care of the rest.
  • Vanessa: Demon Knight Spriggan is very dangerous, you must never let your guard down.
  • Grail: They may have a small frame and look weak but demons are actually quite strong and vicious.
  • Vanessa: Yes, just like Master Grail. You must never judge a book by its cover.
  • Grail: Could you go inspect the town area?

  • Vanessa: The Commercial Area was already complex by design but with the fallen buildings, it's going to be harder to navigate.
  • Rena: In this environment.. If the demons try to pick off the refugees one by one, we won't be able to stop them.
  • Grail: I recently got my hands on the Alchemist Kit from Glitter Alchemist... Slurp.
  • Aisha: (Grail... Your slurping is too loud..)
  • Elsword: (I guess this wan inevitable with how the dog's mouth is shaped..)
  • Grail: .. After I checked out the demon alchemy I found out that all those glitter alchemists were creating chemicals using the exact same formula.
  • Rena: Hm.. This means they were either trained.. Or there is a manual somewhere.
  • Grail: Right, and that can lead us to the demon's unreasonable attacks... sip.
  • Eve: You, tea times are supposed to be quite. You're slurping to loudly.
  • Grail: .. Sip.. I have a favor to ask, could you investigate the demons in the commercial area and bring me their elixir?
  • Grail: This elixir is to drug their enemies and take control of them using a powerful necromancy spell. Once they are under their control they become their mindless soldiers.
  • Elsword: Is this and extension of Feita? Evil bastards!
  • Raven: Because of this Elixir, the demons were able to attack day and night..
  • Aisha: I thought those enraged eyes were a trait of demons but they were controlled by necromancy..?
  • Grail: They are really determined this time, they're going all out..
  • Vanessa: If we leave this concoction here, this commercial area will be an even bigger mess.
  • Elsword: There's no way out... I need something... a solution..
  • Rena: If there is a neutralizing solution.. We could weaken the demons.. And after that it's easy.
  • Elsword: That's right! Grail! You can make neutralizing solutions with ease, right?
  • Grail: Alchemy is not an easy thing to master. It won't be that easy to create this, try and collect as many of the elixirs as you can.
  • Grail: You brought a lot. This should be enough, the formula doesn't seem too complicated so it shouldn't take too long.
  • Elesis: Oooh, something's different about you.
  • Vanessa: If we use the neutralizer on the demons their relentless attack should subside.

  • Elsword: No commanders! This is perfect!
  • Raven: Careful, this might be part of their strategy as well... It could very well be a trap.
  • Elesis: Yeah, demons aren't that stupid. I'm sure they've got something planned.
  • Noel: South Gate was designed to prevent enemies from retreating and has its traps deployed. Maybe that's the reason..
  • Elsword: I'd be glad if that was the case. We would know where the traps are.
  • Vanessa: It doesn't feel right but we have no choice. Let's head for the South Gate, can you scout the area?

  • Vanessa: So, there's a lot more Demons than indicated on the Tactical Plan?
  • Elsword: All the commander level Glitter were there and some big unknown demon..
  • Aisha: Dark Elves' guardian, Dark Nephilim. I don't know if we can defeat it.
  • Rena: Chloe can handle this powerful creature?
  • Eve: Alert. Enemies detected. There are multiple demons surrounding us.
  • Noel: We've been had... I'm sorry Vanessa, perhaps I've made my decision to hastily.
  • Elsword: So even the placement of their forces was bait? Darn it!
  • Elesis: Elsword, it's not all about strength. Learn from your mistakes while you can.
  • Vanessa: Noel, it's not your fault. The demons are surrounding us and there's nowhere to turn.
  • Rena: Even if it is a trap, we have to go for it.
  • Vanessa: They probably think they are one step ahead of us. But once we escape their defenses they'll think differently.
  • Raven: A surprise attack..
  • Vanessa: We must get through their defenses before they completely surround us.
  • Elsword: Right! We can't go down like this! Let's look for their weakest spot!
  • Eve: Humans have great leaders as well and not just fools. I will need to upgrade my data base after this battle.

  • Rena: What do we do? They are surrounding us closer and closer.
  • Raven: Their movements... they were properly trained.
  • Vanessa: We temporarily slowed them down but we need to act fast and penetrate their defense!
  • Aisha: What is it this time?
  • Vanessa: We have to defeat the enemy commander Glitters! That will definitely have a huge impact on the battle.
  • Elesis: Alright, we don't have much time. Let's go find a boss rank demon and bring him down!
  • Vanessa: I leave it to you, help us!
  • Noel: Until then we'll ready ourselves for our retaliation...!

  • Grail: Chloe can always resummon the Dark Nephilim again.. Slurp.
  • Elsword: At this rate the fight will go on forever.
  • Aisha: We'll get fired before we defeat it. We need to find a medium that connects it to this world.
  • Elsword: Eh?
  • Grail: To connect one world to another, you need a medium. Chloe must have used something from Dark Nephilim in order to create the summoning circle. Can you bring it to me? I can try to cut the ties of this world with the Dark Nephilim.
