Chapter 10: Leaping Faith

After numerous fights, they finally retrieved the Evil Force plans and decided to enter through the Southern Gate, seeing there were only a few guards there. Soon after, the Party arrived at the Southern Gate and realized that it was a trick and found all the guards waiting for them there. The guards were almost all defeated until Chloe summoned the Dark Nephilim. They used magic and previously learned skills to destroy the Dark Nephilim and escaped the Southern Gate. The Centurion of Velder named Vanessa asked the El Search Party to deliver a rescue letter all the way across the sea to the other side of the continent.

Description

  • Vanessa: You have no reason to be sorry about. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have managed to reclaim the city during the last few days. Just the news that you're helping us is raising the spirits of our troops.

  • Rena: You two look really alike, but I had no idea you were Elsword's sister. Elsword, why didn't you say anything?

  • Vanessa: There are not that many. As I thought, they're not getting any reinforcements.
  • Aisha: Any chance this map is also a trap?
  • Rena: You think so? But we felt it first hand that their numbers are dwindling.
  • Raven: ... We need to end it now, before they open the dimension gate again and rebuild their forces.
  • Elesis: I don't think we can trust this map 100% either. Even if this wasn't a trap, once they realize we have this map, they might rearrange their placement.

  • Elsword: ... That's why they placed all of the troops at the Southern Gate. They had nothing to fear once that beast was summoned.
  • Rena: Hmph, I hope Chloe is drained after summoning that spirit. That will make our job easier.

  • Rena: Shouldn't we use this chance to stop Chloe? What if she summons a powerful spirit like last time?
  • Aisha: Don't worry. You need a lot of prep in order to summon a spirit of that caliber. I don't think it's possible for them right now.
  • Vanessa: We succeeded in reclaiming the capital, but we don't have enough resources to drive out the demons inside the palace. Elesis, have you not heard back from the Red Knights yet?
  • Elesis: Nothing. They should have gotten back to me by now... Maybe they're having trouble on their end.
  • Aisha: Uh, why did the Red Knights head to Hamel in the first place?
  • Elesis: Hm, that's a long story...
  • Elesis: Several years ago, unknown beasts appeared in Senace. Senace Army had no way of dealing with them. There were massive casualties in a short period of time.
  • Raven: I heard the rumor. But Senace Knights are strong. I thought it was exaggerated. It was really that bad?
  • Elesis: Yes, well. You all have battle experience, so you know the basics, right?
  • Elesis: Animals, humans, we all have our weakness. You know where to hit to land a clear hit.
  • Aisha: But the monsters that appeared in Senace defied all natural laws... Is that what you are saying?

  • Elesis: I needed to take a look around Lurensia first. There were areas with particularly strong demonic energy. Like Feita, or the Shadow Forest.
  • Eve: Yes. We faced against demons in Feita.
  • Elesis: When I was there, there were no demons, though the beasts were acting violent due to the evil energy surrounding the area. That's why I went directly to the Shadow Forest. I guess we barely missed each other.
  • Elesis: I thought I was keeping a close look on the demons, but it seems they were more well prepared than I thought. It's unfortunate... but there's no choice but to charge forward with our head held high.
  • Elesis: Vanessa? I'll head over to Hamel and bring the Red Knights. I need to know what's going on in Senace as well.
  • Elsword: I'll go too.

  • Elesis: You came here with Elsword, correct? Will you be coming as well?
